Lexus LF-SA Concept leaks its mini self ahead of Geneva
Sat, Feb 28 2015What you see here is the Lexus LF-SA Concept, which is speeding toward a date next week with the Geneva Motor Show. We don't yet have any official details, but Lexus is apparently saying the LF-SA was "conceived as a luxurious, driver-focused vehicle, designed to address a future world that is more influenced by technology and virtual experiences," and that it "[reflects] Lexus' vision that real experience will remain ultimate luxury." We don't know how far into the future Lexus is looking with its LF-SA Concept, but it looks very small, with just two doors, meaning it's likely even more diminutive and less spacious than the entry-level luxury Buick Encore. It could be positioned below the current CT 200h, which currently stands as the smallest model from Lexus. Check out the pictures above, and stay tuned for all the official details from Geneva. Sell your own: 2003 Lexus SC 430

At the Lexus SC 430 preview - in the spring of 2000 - the disappointment among automotive journalists was palpable. Lexus had taken the truly captivating design of the first-generation SC and essentially disregarded it, replacing the earlier architecture with one drawn by Toyota's team in Europe. The contrast wasn't as strong (or dysfunctional) as when the Jag E-Type morphed into the most unfortunate XJ-S in 1976, but it was close. Some seven years after production of the SC 430 ended, however, a coupe/convertible prospect has the benefit of both hindsight and nostalgia. Lines that once looked almost awkward when juxtaposed against the first SC are softened by time. And while the SC 430's retractable roof wasn't the first execution of a coupe/convertible hardtop, you can assume it works more predictably than its German counterparts. While purportedly seating four, this is a tight 2+2. But with V8 power and a 3,800 pound curb weight, the SC 430 is a substantive, comfortable way of propelling yourself down the road; think of it as a Miata for those wearing 'plus' sizes. This for-sale example, with 165,000 miles, is well-used, and its $9K asking price is at the top of the dealer range. But if you like its color and equipment, a well-maintained Lexus should - and could - give you another 100,000 miles of reliable service. Related Video:
2013 Lexus ES300h
Wed, 27 Feb 2013The Lexus ES lineup, the brand's bread-and-butter sedan, has been completely redone for 2013. With that tip-to-tail rework comes the model's first hybrid. We think the ES350 is better in every way than its predecessor, so a spin in the ES300h is warranted to see what it's like to live with the model sure to become the best-selling Lexus hybrid sedan. In particular, we wanted to see how the gas-electric luxury cruiser handled the battery-sapping realities of winter, so we ventured out into the slush and snow to file this report.
Driving Notes:
Peel away the slush, and this car sure is sharp-looking. It strongly resembles the excellent new GS, no bad thing. With the move to the longer Toyota Avalon underpinnings, the ES300h is long and elegant. Lexus has really upped its styling game lately.
