This is an unbelievable vehicle. Under 100k miles 2003. My wife was primary driver. It has never been off-road. Purchased in So. Cal. Interior is clean. A detail would make it shine. I hate to see it go. It is such a perfect vehicle for us. Visibility over others on the freeway, especially. Adjustable ride height, and suspension mode make it really smooth. We just can't afford to have this vehicle now, so I'm selling it here on ebay. I sincerely hope whoever wins it will treat it as well as we have.

ALL WHEEL DRIVE, 18" ALLOY WHEELS, RUNNING BOARDS, LUGGAGE RACK, SUNROOF, NAVIGATION, WOOD TRIM, UNIVERSAL GARAGE DOOR OPENER, POWER WINDOWS, POWER MIRRORS, POWER DOOR LOCKS, POWER FRONT SEATS, DRIVER SEAT MEMORY PREMIUM MARK LEVINSON SOUND SYSTEM, ADJUSTIBLE RIDE HEIGHT, ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION, STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS, CRUISE CONTROL, POWER STEERING COLUMN, HEATED FRONT SEATS, REAR SEAT AUDIO CONTROLS, 7 PASSENGER, SUNROOF WIND DEFLECTOR

I shot the photos up on Angeles Crest Highway this weekend. I took note of any issues I saw. You will see a small 1/4 in dent above rear wheel well. Paintless dent removal will take that out. Wear on front driver tire. Steering wheel veneer isn't perfect. Carpets need a shampoo. The passenger door panel has a small tear. Small scratch on wheel well. Its time to replace the Nav DVD. We've maintained in at a certified Lexus shop over the years here in Pasadena. Two fender benders in 10 years, rear bumper was replaced after backing into my neighbors construction dumpster. And lower driver door panel repaired after my wife scraped a pole in a parking garage. Work was done at holmes body shop in Pasadena. Runs like you'd expect a Lexus to run, excellent. Just serviced, so fluids are all up to date. CarMax said the vehicle was one of the cleanest they'd seen.

Toyota announces two recalls affecting 1M Corolla, Matrix and Lexus IS models

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

The recall bug strikes Toyota again. The automaker has issued a voluntary recall of three models that, in total, represent more than one million units. Around 752,000 2003-2004 Toyota Corolla and Matrix models are being recalled for airbag concerns, while a windshield wiper issue is causing the recall for close to 270,000 Lexus IS sedans from the 2006-2012 model years.
Completely unrelated to the small airbag-related recall issued earlier in the week, the Corolla and Matrix recall is caused by a faulty airbag control module that could potentially short circuit, which could lead to the front airbags or seat belt pretensioners deploying. The Lexus recall is due to a wiper arm nut that wasn't tightened properly, which can cause the wipers to not work when trying to clear heavy buildup such as snow.
Scroll down for a press release that includes more information, as well as details about how owners can contact the manufacturer directly.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.

2018 Lexus LS 500 gets the F Sport treatment

Tue, Apr 11 2017

Lexus has used this year's auto show season for a continuous rollout of its all-new flagship sedan, the 2018 LS 500. It debuted in Detroit, followed by the hybrid LS 500h in Geneva. For New York, the updated LS gets the F Sport treatment, which includes design touches, chassis tuning and added stopping power. The 2018 Lexus LS F Sport, whether in gas-only or hybrid trim, receives a set of 20-inch alloy wheels and larger, six-piston caliper front and four-piston rear brakes. Up front, the F Sport grille is refined beyond that of the standard LS, and Lexus notes that it took CAD designers five months to get the desired look, with its 7,100 individual surfaces. Other visual changes include an enlarged side grille, unique rocker panels, trunk moldings, and, of course, F Sport badging. The Ultra White exterior is exclusive to the F Sport version. Inside the car, F Sport front seats offer more support for spirited driving. The driver commands the car through an F Sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and a perforated shift lever. Details like the Ultrasuede in the seats and headliner and brushed aluminum trim add to the interior's sporty refinement. For a bolder look, Lexus offers the F Sport-exclusive Circuit Red interior. Just one version, though – the rear-drive, gasoline LS 500 – will offer a handling package for more prowess on curvy roads. It features Lexus Dynamic Handling, which includes variable ratio steering, and active rear steering to help guide the rear wheels around corners. The sport tuned air suspension includes the Active Stabilizer system for flatter cornering. The powertrain and its output figures remain unchanged from the standard version. The new Lexus LS is set to go on sale in early 2018.
