We have loved our LX470, and have babied it since day one. This Lexus looks, ride, and most importantly drives like brand new out of the Lexus dealership. Our 2006 Lexus is a Smoke-free Classic Silver Metallic with Tan Leather interior. The LX 470 has a redesigned front grille, rear LED combination lights, direct tire-pressure monitoring system and five-spoke 18-inch JJ alloy wheels with graphite finish. This LX470 4X4 has all the accouterments we have come to expect from Lexus. They include; ABS Brakes, Air Conditioning, Alloy Wheels, AM/FM/CD/CASSETTE Audio System with Bluetooth, Center Console, Center Fold Down Front & Rear Armrest, Climate Control, Fold Down Rear Seat, Front Fog Lights, Heated Front Seats, High Intensity Discharge Headlamps, Keyless Entry, Leather/Wood Shift Knob and Steering Wheel, Memory Driver Seat, Navigation System, Overhead Console with Storage, Power Door Locks, Power Drivers Seat, Power Glass Moonroof, Power Side Windows, Power Outside Rearview Mirrors, Power Passenger Seat, Power Steering, Privacy/Tinted Glass, Rear Heat/AC Vents, Rear Window Defroster, Rear Window Wiper, Reverse Camera, Side & Curtain Air Bags, Steering Wheel Audio Controls, Tilt and Telescoping Steering Wheel, Third Row Fold-Up Seating, Towing Package, Wood Trim and the Factory Books in the Glove Box. We have more pictures upon request, and would love it if you came and test drove it today. We are definitely sad to see her go, but we just no longer have the need for this gorgeous SUV any longer. This is an extremely rare Lexus to be selling. We have not seen any LX470's this new in Utah in a year, especially that have been taken care of this well, and that are in such immaculate condition. Lexus to display turbocharged LF-NX Concept at Tokyo Motor Show
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Concept cars typically have a short lifespan. They debut at a major international auto show, then make the rounds of the lesser local shows, and that's pretty much it. They might be loaned out for test drives or put on display in a museum, but by and large they've had their fifteen minutes of fame by that point. That said, Japan's automakers have found a way to keep these show cars going and keep them in the news. They're modifying them and giving them a fresh lease on life.
That's what Subaru is doing with the Viziv concept for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, and what Lexus is doing as well with the LF-NX concept. Having already unveiled the crossover concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lexus is fitting the LF-NX with a new 2.0-liter turbo engine. (But then, as far as we could tell, Lexus never revealed engine specs for the concept in the first place.)
To go with the turbo engine, Lexus has also fitted the concept with a new front splitter, but otherwise it's the same - and even appears to be wearing the same liquid-metal paint, unlike the LF-LC concept that got repainted from red to blue when its limelight was starting to fade.
Toyota's hydrogen fuel cell Mirai isn't good enough to be a Lexus
Thu, Nov 17 2016It looks like the first hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle from Lexus will be faster than previously advertised, but it will get to the market slower than expected. It's all part of the paradox involved with Toyota looking to broaden its fuel-cell technology beyond the Mirai. Either way, the first Lexus fuel-cell vehicle is slated to start sales by the end of the decade, said Auto Express, citing comments from Alain Uyttenhoven, head of Lexus Europe. Uyttenhoven noted that it'd take an SUV to provide enough space to accommodate the packaging for the Lexus fuel cell powertrain. That comment may imply that the hydrogen-fueled powertrain from Lexus will offer similar performance to that of the Lexus RX450h hybrid SUV. That model delivers 300 horsepower and boasts a 0 to 60 mile-per-hour time of about seven seconds. Such a mill would be a departure from what we'd previously reported on Toyota's plans to expand its fuel-cell technology to its Lexus luxury badge. With Toyota believed to be planning to unveil as many as three fuel-cell models in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the Japanese automaker said early last year that it may have a Lexus fuel-cell vehicle available as soon as 2017, while reports suggesting the model would be a Lexus LS-based sedan. Additionally, the Mirai's fuel-cell powertrain had been believed to be the platform for the proposed Lexus fuel cell from the moment that model started sales in California last year. Apparently, though, the Mirai's 152-horsepower powertrain, coupled with a full-tank range that would be about 20 percent less than the 300-mile Mirai, isn't up to snuff for Lexus duty. Lexus launches supercharged LX 570 in Middle East
Thu, 01 May 2014The Lexus LX SUV is a very muscular, old-school vehicle. Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, it's still a big, body-on-frame SUV, but inside it offers acres of leather and luxury tech. The brand's Kuwaiti distributor is taking it machismo even further for the local market with the new LX 570 Supercharger.
As the name suggests, the upgraded SUV grafts a supercharger onto the LX 570's 5.7-liter V8 to boost it to 450 horsepower, from 383 hp in the naturally aspirated version in the US (or 362 hp in the standard Kuwaiti version), and it uses the same six-speed automatic as the standard model. To signal the improved strength, much of exterior chrome is replaced with black trim. It also wears special 20-inch wheels and a rear spoiler. The interior is fitted with crimson leather seats and red-accented carpet. It also gets an aluminum sill plate that says "Supercharger." Like the standard Kuwait-spec LX 570, it has two fuel tanks with a total combined capacity of 36.46 gallons, which should help satiate the likely thirsty, forced-induction V8.
The LX 570 Supercharger won't be rumbling down streets outside of the Middle East, though. According to Lexus spokesperson Bill Kwong, this is a project by the distributor in the region. The supercharged engine also has "issues with emissions" in the US, especially in California, he told Autoblog. Too bad, it would be an interesting Range Rover alternative.
