The Lexus LX470 and Toyota Land Cruiser 100-series are great for families and off road adventurers alike. This one-owner 2004 Lexus LX470 is a rare find in its condition and low mileage. It has 115,000 miles and has lived its entire life in Southern California. It’s fully loaded, the best paint color Lexus offers, and has been very well cared for. These are amazing cars; capable of circumnavigating the globe without fail and used to protect and transport dignitaries around the world. In the US they are most frequently employed as safe family vehicles used to cart around the kids, get groceries, and take the family to the mountains. Regardless of whether they are used for kids or NATO they take a lot of abuse. As a result, it’s rare to find LX’s and Toyota Land Cruisers in this kind of clean and cared-for condition. It has right over 115,000 miles and should be perfect well past 350,000.

It was serviced at Lexus Tustin and Lexus Malibu and comes with a detailed service history. The previous owner loved the car and it shows. The major 90k mile servicing was done at a Lexus dealership - which is the most expensive service interval on this car. Since purchasing it, we have had it inspected twice: one was done by Carlsbad Lexus. It passed with flying colors and we were congratulated for finding a car in such immaculate condition.

It is a very capable full-time 4-wheel drive vehicle with low and high transfer-case gearing and a center differential lock. It also comes with Lexus/Toyota’s famous A-TRAC traction system for your time off road or in low-traction conditions. The v8 produces plenty of power and gets great gas-mileage for a capable 4x4 SUV of this size.

It comes fully loaded with premium Mark-Levinson audio, CD-changer, navigation, back-up camera, climate control, power rear windows, heated seats and side-mirrors, auto-darkening mirrors, power retracting mirrors, and a great deal more. It also has the very convenient and reliable “adjustable height suspension” (AHC) which allows you to raise and lower the car – from the driver’s seat - for your loading/unloading and off road/high-clearance needs.

The exterior is immaculate. There are no dents, scratches, or dings of consequence. It’s painted in Diamond White Pearl which is one of the highest quality and most expensive paints available: it is typically used only for show-quality classic cars and hot-rods. When this LX470 was first sold, it was the most expensive car Lexus made by a very large margin. With this high price came some very high-quality options not previously available. One of those options was Diamond White Pearl paint. The paint is 3-stage paint unlike typical 2-stage paints. The extra stage is a layer of finely ground synthetic pearls. This pearl dust takes the place of metal-flakes in typical automotive paint that deteriorates quickly in the sun. This paint has proven again and again that it can stand up to huge amounts of abuse and continue to look nicer than brand new cars coming off the lot.

The interior is much like the exterior: clean and well cared for. The carpets are stain-free and have been protected by a set of factory Lexus floor mats its entire life (included). The leather is exceptionally clean and well cared for. The steering wheel and dash have no cracks, tears, scratches, or blemishes. It comes with all of the original documents including the owner’s manual, navigation disk, key-tag, etc.

The car is perfect mechanically. Everything has been serviced at the factory intervals and the entire car was just given a clean bill of health from Lexus. We will provide a detailed life-time service history for the car.

I am happy to arrange shipping domestically and will export and ship anywhere in the world. All shipping, transport, and export fees will be charged to the buyer. Please see payments and deposit section for payment and deposit terms.

Lexus previews the concept car that illustrates its new brand vision

Mon, Feb 1 2021

Lexus will start writing the next chapter in its 32-year history when it unveils a mysterious concept car in spring 2021. It hasn't revealed the design study's name yet, but it explained the model will show what's coming. Koji Sato, the company's president and chief branding officer, noted that the concept "illustrates our intentions for the future, and marks the beginning of the next generation of Lexus." He stopped short of providing additional details, but the company's plans for the future are fairly easy to decipher. Lexus isn't going to start making rifles, lawn mowers, or garage flooring; it's very likely going to electrify its range while reinventing its design language for the 2020s and adding more technology — including advanced semi-automated systems — to its cars. The dark preview image released by Lexus shows the concept car's rear end. We see a relatively low roof accented by a fin, a sculpted rear bumper that's much wider than the greenhouse, and the company's name written in a new font. While the photo asks more questions than it answers, we know that we're not looking at the electric crossover that the Toyota-owned company hinted at in December 2020 because the proportions don't match. And, we highly doubt it's the rugged, body-on-frame off-roader that's allegedly also in the works. We'll have to be patient to find out whether Lexus is planning to move away from the spindle-shaped grille that has characterized its cars for nearly a decade. Geneva's annual auto show was canceled for the second year in a row, but it should have opened its doors to the public and the press in early March 2021. Odds are the Lexus concept's online unveiling will coincide with (or at least fall very close to) the axed show's dates. Sato confirmed that Lexus will release a new car in 2021, though he didn't specify if it's related to the concept, or if it's merely inspired by it. He pledged to continue rolling out new additions to the range through 2022. Related video:

Anti-EV, pro-hybrid ad from Lexus gets a whole lot wrong

Fri, May 9 2014

Tell us if you're surprised that Toyota (through its Lexus brand) is putting out some questionable information about electric vehicles. While it's one thing for company executives to be anti-EV, it's quite another to put out obviously false information when you speak ill of plug-in vehicles, especially when you also sell them. The automaker offers the RAV4 EV and Prius Plug-In, albeit in limited numbers, First, let's look at what Lexus is saying. On the company's consumer site, in the hybrid section, there are a number of slick videos. In one ("Hybrid Overview"), Lexus makes it look like charging an EV takes four hours. That may be true in some situations, but the video shows an anonymous driver plugging a Nissan Leaf into something that looks like a AeroVironment DC fast charger, which takes around a half hour to charge. Granted, the site has a disclaimer that says, the "charge time represents the average time to charge from empty to full using typically available 240V commercial charging stations," but in everyday use, that's not something EV drivers often do. Charged EVs mentions two previous studies that show how most EV charging is done at home. Lexus knows all this, of course, but doesn't mention it. Lexus says that there are 20 states with an "established infrastructure" for hydrogen. Another video on the site, one that talks about future alternative powertrain technologies, says that there are 20 states with an "established infrastructure" for hydrogen and 37 with the same for electric vehicles. It also blatantly says that we need to consider all of the emissions from the fossil fuels used to make electricity (carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, etc.) but does not say anything about the fossil fuel emissions used to make hydrogen. You can see some screen grabs in the gallery or watch the video yourself. It's all blatantly one-sided, especially since the official numbers from the Department Of Energy say that there are Level 2 public EV chargers in literally every state except Alaska and only 11 public hydrogen stations in the US. Ten of them are in California, the other is in South Carolina. A Lexus spokesman told AutoblogGreen it will ask TeamOne, its ad agency, and the Lexus marketing department for clarification on where the data in the videos comes from. We will update this post when we hear back.

Lexus LM is a first-class minivan that's not for America

Tue, Apr 16 2019

Although they might get a bad rep for not being "cool," minivans can be some of the most unique and interesting vehicles on the market. Their spacious size and clever packaging allows for design and functionality that cannot be found in any other type of family hauler. Lexus proves as such with the debut of its flagship luxury MPV, the LM, a wild-style van that can be ordered as a sort of personal private limousine with a 26-inch screen. Sadly, it's only for China and other Asian markets. Based on the Toyota Alphard, the LM caters to a Chinese market that places major importance on luxury and comfort for the on-the-go business professional. That means privacy and space, so in addition to a seven-seater configuration, the LM can be ordered in a four-seat chauffeur setup. It includes two gigantic reclining captain chairs (separated by an armrest with built-in touch control panel), a partition with power glass and a built-in 26-inch screen, a 14-liter fridge, umbrella storage, and a 19-speaker sound system. To ensure optimal tranquility, the van has double-layer noise-reducing glass. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. No matter the intended use of minivans, whether for an executive or a sleepy four-year-old, one of their strengths is ride comfort. Lexus says the LM uses swing valve shock absorbers, a technology that was introduced on the cushy Lexus ES, to maintain an undisturbed and balanced ride. In addition to the choice of seat layout, buyers will have the choice between two drive setups and two powertrains. The LM 350 will have a 3.5-liter engine, while the LM 300h will use hybrid power with a 2.5-liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine. The LM will be available in front- or all-wheel drive. As for the styling, well, it builds on the already extreme exterior of the Alphard, with slightly more chrome. The spindle grille has never been a passive feature, and this is one of the biggest applications Lexus has ever approved for production. The body, however, features muscular curves and sharp lines for an overall sleek effect. It is available in black and pearl white paint schemes. Just not for the U.S. market.
