This LS 400 is the cleanest, straightest most meticulously cared for vehicle I have ever owned, period, and I've been dealing in used cars for 30 years. You won't believe how nice this car is. The pictures look great but in person it's even better. This beauty truly drives and runs literally like a 50,000 mile car. No rattles or clunks with this ride! Just arguably the smoothest riding and driving luxury sedan you can buy. No surprizes on this one. Everything thing works like it did when it was driven off the Lexus dealership in Cincinatti Ohio back in 2000. The a/c is cold, all the power options work, the six cd changer and stereo sounds great, the seats are soft and supple without any cuts or tears, and even the foam is not flattened or misshapened nor is the leather worn on the driver's seat! The factory original mats are in excellent shape as the pics show, with out any worn spots or stains. and the rear seat looks like it has hardly been set in. It has a new Interstate battery and the tires and brakes are 90% and very smooth. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. I don't think this car was ever driven in winter and was always garaged when not being driven. The only thing that I've had to do was change the oil. When I stumbled across this LS on the website of a dealer that I knew and trusted , I told Hap at Stricker's in Bativia Ohio that if it's as nice in person as it is in the pictures I'll takeit and of course it was! (thanks Hap!) I have pictures of the car before it was fixed (flawlessly I might add) and can send them to anyone who wants to see the extent of the damage.. No airbags were deployed and the fenders were not damaged. Only the hood ,bumper, grill and upper radiator support along with radiator and the condenser were replaced. You cant find a flaw in the new paint work or the original paint save for a slight mar on the rear bumper cover that doesn't show up in in the pictures. It's that nice. If this car is not exactly as I have described it here, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT. I say that because I know that one walk-around and a test drive and you'll agree that this is one very nice luxury automobile! I had to literally "pry" this Lexus out of my wife's hands. We have driven this car about 3,500 miles with out any problems whatsoever. I do have the car advertised locally and will end the listing early in the event it sells. If I don't sell it I'll put it in the garage 'til spring and my wife will drive an suv for the next few months. (That would make her happy!) BTW, This car with the 5 speed overdrive automatic transmission at strictly highway speeds got an amazing 27 MPG on a trip to Michigan! Mixed driving in our area we've averaged around 22 MPG. Beats folding yourself up in a little compact car so you can get a few more highway miles huh? Call Bob at : 419-234-7347 or email me thru ebay messaging and we can help you make this Lexus your Lexus. Thanks and good luck. |

2015 Lexus RC F Review
Wed, Aug 26 2015Every year, thousands of people buy two-door coupes that bear the badges of BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Audi RS, and Cadillac V. These cars are powerful, fast, agile, and - if you believe the marketing - are made to kick ass on the track. But, and this is just my theory, only about 0.2 percent of these owners actually drive their cars the way the companies intended. Most buyers, I think, want the image put forth by an M4 or C63 AMG more than any dynamic abilities. These people just want to give the impression that they're out tearing up the local road course, and a $70,000 sports coupe and a pair of Pilotis are just the ticket. Which is not to say they don't use the performance of these cars, just not the full track-day capabilities. If this describes you, I recommend checking out the new Lexus RC F. This coupe is powered by a 5.0-liter V8, complete with 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. These figures, while impressive in a vacuum, are troubling when viewed alongside the competition. The Mercedes-AMG C63 tops 500 in horsepower and torque in S guise, while the six-pot Cadillac ATS-V is nearly equal on power but offers almost 60 more pound-feet of torque. And while the BMW M4 cedes more than 40 horsepower to the Lexus, the RC F doesn't feel as potent from the driver's seat. The RC F doesn't even feel as potent as less-powerful competition. This numerical deficit translates to the stopwatch, where the RC F lags behind the force-induced competition. The C63 and ATS-V both hit 60 in 3.9 seconds, while the BMW takes 4.1 seconds (these are all manufacturer estimates, by the way). The RC F needs 4.4 seconds to hit 60 miles per hour. The only vehicle in this segment that's slower is the Audi RS 5, and that's been on sale longer than all its current competitors combined. And the Audi's charms (oh, that glorious engine note) help you overlook its lack of pace. The RC F doesn't have the aging Audi's charisma, making its lack of both perceived and actual pace more glaring. I'm placing blame on this car's overbearing induction sound. It was a neat trick on the original IS F – this car's predecessor – but over the years it's just become kind of played out. At the least the noise is real, piped into the cabin via a resonator, but it sounds too artificial. And the point at which it kicks in is entirely predictable. Neither of these traits contribute to an involving driving experience.
2018 Lexus LC 500h is a wonderful mechanical mishmash
Wed, Mar 2 2016Lexus is following up on the Detroit debut of the LC 500 with a Geneva debut for a new hybrid model that, yes, has a four-speed automatic. We're still getting used to the idea, too. But as we've explained before, even with the old-school gearbox there's some real cutting edge stuff going on here. While the LC hybrid will have a four-speed auto, it will work in conjunction with an eCVT, a Lexus hybrid system, and possibly black magic. It's all very complicated – you can get particulars here – but it's best to think of the LC 500h's transmissions not as a CVT and a four-speed auto, but as a sort of ten-speed hybrid of the two, since both systems are always engaged. The hybrid system is much more familiar. There's a 3.5-liter V6, a battery pack, and two electric motors. Total system output is 354 ponies and Lexus claims the sprint to 60 mph will be done in under five seconds. For the record, the gas-only LC is projected to do the deed in around 4.5 seconds, so the hybrid shouldn't be a dramatic compromise in terms of performance. Of course, stats only tell so much. The ultimate question for the LC 500h is how its wild mix of transmissions, batteries, motors, and an engine will behave on the road. We don't have an answer for that yet, but we do have live images of the new hybridized Lexus at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Check them out. The LC 500h is equipped with Lexus' next generation hybrid powertrain, the Lexus Multi Stage Hybrid System, providing enhanced driving pleasure, more performance, and greater efficiency. The LC was first revealed at the 2016 North America International Auto Show. Its styling, performance and craftsmanship position the vehicle as Lexus' flagship coupe. The LC also utilizes Lexus' new architecture that promises enhanced dynamic capability. Inspired by the acclaimed LF-LC concept that debuted in 2012, the LC represents a shift in Lexus' engineering processes and design ideologies, and marks the beginning of a new phase for the Lexus brand.
Lexus gives IS early updates for 2015
Tue, 01 Jul 2014After just a year on the road, Lexus is bringing some modest tech and style upgrades to the 2015 IS. There are no mechanical changes to speak of, but the refinements should spruce things up a little bit.
The only exterior change for the 2015 IS models is the addition of LED foglights, but as they say, it's what's on the inside that counts. All models get an improved radio with Siri Eyes Free voice command for iPhone 4S and 5 users, and the standard backup camera now includes dynamic grid lines. There is also new piano black trim around the instrument panel and window switches, and a Stratus Gray interior color replaces the previous Light Gray. Buyers get a one-year subscription to the Lexus Enform Remote, which allows drivers to use their smartphones to control some aspects of the car, like remotely locking the doors.
Vehicles ordered with the F Sport package get heated and ventilated front seats, and all-wheel-drive F Sport models get a heated steering wheel, as well. The warmed wheel is also optional on non-F all-wheel-drive models. It should keep drivers nice and toasty in the winter.
