1998 Lexus Ls 400, Extremely Nice Condition With Only 138k Original Miles. on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
1999 LEXUS LS400 If you’re a fan of the legendary Lexus LS 400, my fathers Lexus is far above average from what you’ll find out there. Built when Lexus was out to show the world how fine a car they could build, I say they accomplished just that. This car was bought in Austin Texas many years ago by my father. It currently has 138,XXX miles on it. He has maintained the car to a very high level. The car has a recent timing belt, starter and four new Michelin tires too. The car is very smooth and powerful and extremely comfortable to drive. There are no known problems. The car is extremely clean. I would say a strong 8 out of 10. It shows little signs of wear. You can fly in and drive this car home anywhere in the lower 48. The car has leather, sunroof, automatic transmission and a fabulous V8 engine that gets pretty damn good fuel economy for such a big luxury car. You will get a file with many receipts from the recent work done. You’re welcome to have me deliver the car in San Antonio to a mechanic of your choice. Please feel free to call Houston Wills at 210-548-1310 between 9am-7pm to answer any questions you may have before bidding. Good Luck! |

Lexus LF-1 Limitless lights up like a Christmas tree in new teaser
Tue, Dec 19 2017We don't know much about the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept that's coming to the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, but we do know it's going to have some crazy complicated headlights. Lexus released a second teaser of the oddly named Limitless, this time focusing our attention on the conceptual crossover's face. And let's just say there's a whole heck of a lot going on. As you can see in the animated GIF below, the show starts with a traditional Lexus badge in blue, followed by a few slashes of light in a shape that would make Zorro proud. And then things get really crazy. A yellow-hued set of slices carve through the fascia below the headlights, forming a sort of wide-set Fu Manchu, though this one was penned not by Sax Rohmer but by the designers at CALTY in California. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. via GIPHY We'll have all the details on the LF-1 Limitless on January 15, so stay tuned. Toyota investing $200M in Southern manufacturing
Sun, 23 Jun 2013Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. To keep up with recent strong sales, Toyota is investing an additional $200 million at its engine plants in the Southern US to increase production capacity of its V6 engines.
The bulk of this money ($150 million) will go to expand Toyota's engine plant in Huntsville, AL, which is currently responsible for supplying engines - four-cylinder, V6 and V8 - to eight of Toyota's 12 domestically produced vehicles. That includes the best-selling Toyota Camry (shown above).
Toyota didn't say exactly what improvements are being made to the plant, but this follows last year's $80 million investment in the plant that is set to be completed by next year raising the engine capacity to 750,000 annual units including 362,000 V6s. The remaining $50 million will go to the casting plants of Toyota-owned Bodine Aluminum in Missouri and Tennessee, which supply engine blocks and cylinder heads to the Huntsville engine plant as well as others in Kentucky and West Virginia. The revolutionary Bose suspension that could have been
Mon, Feb 8 2016The Bose name pops up on these pages every once in a while – usually, as you might expect, because some automaker or another has installed its audio systems in one or more of its models. But a few years back, the research-driven audiophiles at Bose developed a revolutionary adaptive suspension system that could have been a game-changer. Sadly, it wasn't. The Bose suspension system was a technological breakthrough. As you can see from the pair of Lexus LS sedans demonstrated (and the Porsche Cayman thrown in for good measure) in the two-minute video above from CNET, the system virtually eliminated body roll and smoothed out bumps in the road to near glass-like serenity. It could even jump over minor obstacles. Unfortunately, the system was too heavy and expensive to put into production, and the project was shelved. Instead, it was repackaged into a suspended driver's seat for heavy-duty, long-haul trucks and called the Bose Ride System. It's said to significantly reduce fatigue and back pain while encouraging driver alertness and wellness – which is all well and fine, but a far cry from what the suspension system could have meant for the automotive industry. Just think about that the next time you notice the Bose logo on the speaker grille in an upscale vehicle from the likes of Audi, FCA, GM, Mazda, or Nissan – all automakers that offer Bose audio systems, and which might have considered implementing the advanced suspension if only it were more practical for production.
