Lexus LF-SA Concept leaks its mini self ahead of Geneva
Sat, Feb 28 2015What you see here is the Lexus LF-SA Concept, which is speeding toward a date next week with the Geneva Motor Show. We don't yet have any official details, but Lexus is apparently saying the LF-SA was "conceived as a luxurious, driver-focused vehicle, designed to address a future world that is more influenced by technology and virtual experiences," and that it "[reflects] Lexus' vision that real experience will remain ultimate luxury." We don't know how far into the future Lexus is looking with its LF-SA Concept, but it looks very small, with just two doors, meaning it's likely even more diminutive and less spacious than the entry-level luxury Buick Encore. It could be positioned below the current CT 200h, which currently stands as the smallest model from Lexus. Check out the pictures above, and stay tuned for all the official details from Geneva. Lexus' Detroit reveal is RC F, will have 460-hp V8
Fri, 20 Dec 2013Yesterday, we brought you the image above, sent out by Lexus, teasing its Detroit Auto Show reveal. At the time, all we knew about the car was that it's a coupe, and falls into the automaker's F performance line. But now, some more details have leaked.
An anonymous tipster passed us a link to this website, which Lexus is using to invite folks to an event at the Detroit show where the new RC F coupe will be revealed. But that same tipster also sent us a scan of the mailed-out invitation, shown at right (click the image to enlarge), which clearly states that the RC F will be powered by a 460-horsepower V8. The invite also says Lexus will show its 2015 RC 350 coupe in Detroit, following its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in November.
We cannot totally verify the authenticity of the scanned invitation, but with a corresponding website live on the web, it all looks pretty legit to us. Stay tuned for more details closer to the RC F's debut in January.
Lexus recalls 2016 RX over knee airbag assembly
Wed, Jan 27 2016The Basics: Lexus will recall 5,000 examples of the 2016 RX 350 and RX 450h. The Problem: The driver's knee airbag module may not have been properly manufactured, and this issue could affect the airbag's deployment. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Lexus dealers will inspect and replace the driver's knee airbag assembly. If You Own One: Customer notifications will begin in March. More Information: Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight tells Autoblog that this issue is not related to the upcoming Takata airbag inflator recall expansion.
