2007 Lexus Is350 F-sport Sedan Rwd on 2040-cars
Spring City, Tennessee, United States
Well family is getting bigger so the cars have to get bigger....We just upgraded to a Lexus LS460 and will no longer need very nice Lexus IS350 F-sport anymore. Car has 139000 miles and maybe a few more as I will drive it till it sells because too nice of a car to let sit. It has all the F-sport luxuries on it including the F-sport full front and rear brakes which include painted calipers and cross drilled rotors (car stops on a dime) large sway bars and suspension is all F-sport and the intake and shifter knob is F-sport and paddle shifters for the transmission if you choose to drive in manual mode. According to previous owner this car was ordered this way to spec. Car has good tires on it and they are Toyo Proxes with staggered stance. V-6 car being a 350 and is very quick. Has some road debris damage but nothing major, just rock chips and lower valence scuff. Gets around 21 to 28 mpg according to how you drive it. Mobil 1 lubricants and all the service is up to date via Lexus of Chattanooga. Only part replaced on the car was the water pump about a year ago as the bearing was making noise but its perfect now. Just had it serviced and detailed and its ready to go. Also all headlight bulbs were just replaced as well. The car is a F-sport car so its stiff and rides more like a sports car than a luxury car. Black leather seats and steering wheel and it has heated and cooled seats as well. Full power everything that you would expect from a lexus. Car is Rear wheel drive and I would take it today and head anywhere in North America. Thanks for your consideration and have a blessed day. God Bless Lexus of Knoxville just serviced the most up to date recall for a seat belt tensioner and they checked the car out and said all is well with it. No ISSUES!!!! |

Toyota investing $200M in Southern manufacturing
Sun, 23 Jun 2013Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. To keep up with recent strong sales, Toyota is investing an additional $200 million at its engine plants in the Southern US to increase production capacity of its V6 engines.
The bulk of this money ($150 million) will go to expand Toyota's engine plant in Huntsville, AL, which is currently responsible for supplying engines - four-cylinder, V6 and V8 - to eight of Toyota's 12 domestically produced vehicles. That includes the best-selling Toyota Camry (shown above).
Toyota didn't say exactly what improvements are being made to the plant, but this follows last year's $80 million investment in the plant that is set to be completed by next year raising the engine capacity to 750,000 annual units including 362,000 V6s. The remaining $50 million will go to the casting plants of Toyota-owned Bodine Aluminum in Missouri and Tennessee, which supply engine blocks and cylinder heads to the Huntsville engine plant as well as others in Kentucky and West Virginia. Japanese dealer petitioning Lexus for luxury van [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Used to be that if you wanted a luxury automobile - especially one to be chauffeured around in - your choices were basically limited to a sedan. It could be bigger or smaller, more or less expensive, depending on your needs and budget, but it was always going to have four doors and a trunk. But these days the rich and famous are looking elsewhere for their commodious forms of pampering transportation. There are, of course, the crossovers and SUVs, which only seem to be getting bigger and more expensive thanks to the likes of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Range Rover L and upcoming Bentley sport-ute. But luxury vans are becoming the new big thing.
That's the point that one dealer in Japan is trying to make to Toyota. The dealership owner himself reasons that if he's going out on the town, he's likely to take his chauffeured Lexus LS. But if he's taking a few friends along, even the biggest sedan isn't going to cut it. So he takes a Toyota Alphard (pictured above, also known as the Vellfire), a JDM van that's even bigger than a Voxy/Noah or Sienna but hardly a high-end affair. That's why he's asking Lexus to make a luxury van.
The idea may seem a little far-fetched, but isn't without precedent. It didn't take much for Lexus to transform the Land Cruiser into the LX and thus create its first luxury SUV. And as Mercedes has shown with pimped-out versions of the Sprinter and now with the debut of the new V-Class in Geneva, there's clearly a market for it... in some countries, anyway. The only question in our minds is how long it's going to take other luxury automakers to catch on, because let's face it: the Chrysler Town & Country ain't gonna cut it for those used to be driven around in a Maybach.
TMG still developing Lexus LS Sports 650 [w/video]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013If you're going to make a super sedan, you'd better do it in Germany. That's where Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz do it, along with third parties like Alpina, Brabus and G-Power, among others. Deutschland is the epicenter of the movement, regularly churning out the most powerful four-door rockets in the world. It's also where one of the racing divisions for Toyota has been hard at work on the TMG Sports 650.
Toyota Motorsport GmbH started with a Lexus LS and turned it into a 641-horsepower, twin-turbocharged super sedan it revealed late last year at the Essen Motor Show. But though we haven't heard much about it since then, the team behind Toyota's F1 and Le Mans efforts are apparently still hard at work on the project.
Speaking with Lexus' own UK blog, TMG chief Alastair Moffitt revealed that the project started way back in 2010, shortly after Toyota shut down its F1 program and left the racing team with nothing to do. The 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 was initially producing as much as 800 horsepower, but has since been refined to 650 so that it could theoretically be put into production and onto the road.
