Moving to S. Korea in May, so I need to sell my car. Bought it when I moved back to Dallas, but now I'm going back overseas. My last day at UT Southwestern Medical Center is April 30th, so after that if you want to take a look at her and test drive her, just let me know and I will make my way to you as long as you are in the Dallas area and a serious buyer.

so the car specs....

2001 Lexus IS300
Silver
JTHBD182810011756
Automatic
147k
Leather/Suede heated seats

I love this car. It's crazy fun to drive. If you are looking for this car specifically, then you know why. If not, then just read reviews on the IS300. Once you drive it, you will love it.

I added an AEM short ram intake, change the oil every 5k with Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil and filter, and only use Shell Premium gasoline. This engine is clean. The tires on it are great condition. Paint is in great condition. I bought the car from a dealership in Plano, TX (Passport Motors). Still have the paperwork. I think the person that had it, also babied the car, because the paint and interior are in great condition. Dark window tint. A must in TX. Cold AC. I don't know what else to say. Great car. Great condition compared to other IS300s. I looked at a lot before I bought, because its the car I wanted. I looked for 2 months before I decided on this one. I know the next person is going to love it as much I do.

The Bad:
1) The trunk has paint peeling it seems, but no rust. Looks like the clear coat came off a litte or something. The only imperfection on the paint. Not noticeable, unless you get close, so I never bothered to get it fixed.
2) Some shake in the steering wheel at times, but not enough to disturb the drive. The car drives straight, so I didn't get that checked out either.
3) Small chip on the side of the front bumper, on the passenger side. Have to get close to see it.

4) The CD player isn't working now, but I'm a radio person myself.
5) Rear side marker bulb is out.

I'm looking for $6,000. Shoot me a number, the worst I can say is no. Good luck on finding your next car.
If I forgot something, just ask. 214-436-1265. Text 1st please.

Updated Lexus CT200h coming next year, new variants reported

Thu, 10 Oct 2013

Lexus has had a minor success on its hands with the CT200h, a funky, five-door, sport-luxury hybrid that burst onto the scene in 2011, and managed just over 17,000 US sales in 2012. Worked out to a monthly average, that's nearly 50 percent more units per month than Lexus initially targeted when the car went on sale.
Though it's done well, the CT has been left behind while designers and engineers have reworked the rest of the Lexus lineup, bringing out fully revamped versions of the GS, IS and LS over the past few years. According to a report from Down Under, though, the little CT will get some attention soon.
Speaking to Sean Hanley, boss of Lexus Australia, Aussie site The Motor Report picked up a telling quote about the execs affections for the CT, when he said, "We see the CT200h as our greatest opportunity." Hanley added that a refresh of the CT could happen early in 2014, while a clean-sheet reworking would happen around 2016.

Lexus looking for performance with 600-hp LF-LC?

Sun, 27 Jul 2014

Lexus has been keeping development of the production version of its LF-LC concept tightly under wraps. Last we heard, that halo GT car had received the green light for production, but that was over a year ago. Since then, things have been pretty silent. Finally though, fresh rumors about the luxury coupe are starting to leak out, pointing toward the model's powertrain lineup.
According to unnamed sources speaking to Motor Trend, the production LF-LC will eventually sport three very intriguing engine options. The base model will reportedly use a naturally aspirated V8 providing around 450 horsepower - very similar specs to the upcoming RC F. The next step up will allegedly be the upcoming hybrid powertrain shared between BMW and Toyota pumping things up to around 500 hp. Finally, a top-of-the-heap F version will use a twin-turbocharged version of the RC F's 5.0-liter V8 to bring output to 600 hp. The insiders even claim that the hybrid and the twin-turbo V8 could find their way into other Lexus products like the LS and possibly even a more beastly RC.
None of this speculation sounds too outlandish. Lexus could get more capacity out of the RC F's tuned V8 by shoving it into other models, and rumors are flying about performance cars spawned from BMW and Toyota's partnership. Given Lexus' recent embrace of turbocharging, even the twin-turbo V8 doesn't seem too dubious. That said, with no hard facts to back up the rumormill, we'll have to keep waiting to see what the LF-LC shows up with.

Toyota amalgamates motorsports divisions under Gazoo Racing

Fri, Apr 10 2015

Toyota has more racing divisions than we could wave a checkered flag at, with the company's various motorsport activities all coordinated by different operations. But the Japanese industrial giant is now bringing most (if not all) of them under one roof. From here on in, any racing that was done under the Toyota Racing, Lexus Racing or Gazoo Racing banners will now be united under the latter. That includes the LFAs it races around the Nurburgring, the TS040 Hybrid it fields at Le Mans and in the World Endurance Championship, the Yaris it will soon throw at the World Rally Championship, the Lexus racers that compete in the Super GT championship back in Japan... the works. The move does not appear to affect Toyota Racing Development, the automaker's American arm that handles its NASCAR racing activities, but from here on out, any Toyota or Lexus you see racing on most anything but a speedway will be competing under Gazoo Racing. The move appears to be more than symbolic and semantic, putting its racing vehicle development, technical support and marketing activities in the hands of the new Motor Sports Group. In announcing the consolidation, Toyota highlights in particular the benefit its various racing programs bring to its talent pool, if not the direct effect they have on the company's vehicles themselves. Toyota Racing, Lexus Racing and GAZOO Racing Unite Under GAZOO Racing Toyota City, Japan, April 9, 2015-Starting April 11, Toyota will unite all motorsports activities under GAZOO Racing. The move will clarify the role of Toyota's motorsports in its efforts to make ever-better cars and foster new generations of car enthusiasts. Until now, Toyota has participated in competitions around the world-including the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the Super GT in Japan, and the Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race-through the separate Toyota Racing, Lexus Racing and GAZOO Racing teams. Of those, GAZOO Racing in particular was created to expand the role of promoting motorsports beyond that of traditional automakers, and carry out grassroots activities aimed at creating new and ever-growing generations of car enthusiasts. Concerning today's announcement, Toyota President Akio Toyoda said: "Our founder Kiichiro Toyoda once said that motorsports are vital to the evolution of car making and the entire auto industry.
