This is quite a remarkable LX470. It looks and drives like a new car. It is virtually perfect. No dings, no dents, no sand or rock chips, perfect interior. You have to bring a magnifying glass to find any imperfections. Never an accident and a perfect CARFAX. This car was purchased and regularly serviced at Ira Lexus.
The service manager says the owner, a middle aged bank executive's wife (service manager's description), had every regular servicing done and kept it garaged all the time. He said it has mostly highway miles. Last year it had the timing belt changed, a new battery, new tires, cooling pump and alternator. It had all the fluids changed including differential and transmission fluid. Lexus Service manager said the car is in outstanding condition with no issues whatsoever. Fully loaded with Mark Levinson sound and Navigation, with backseat DVD and roof mounted 14" screen, 14 speaker 240 watt premium audio system, bluetooth, rear camera, heated outside mirrors, roll sensing front and side curtain airbags, backup camera, vehicle stability control, active traction control, downhill assist control, hill start assist control, Variable control heated seats, tow package, enhanced rear entertainment system with remote and headsets, third row seats that no one has ever sat in, Steering wheel voice command system, New tires, Non-smoker. The paint is called Cypress Pearl with is a kind of sage green with beautiful cream interior which is flawless, no cracks or blemishes, just soft and supple leather. The real Birdseye Maple trim is beautiful and is perfect. The carpets have no marks, stains or discoloration. They are as clean as new. Lexus bringing next-gen IS to Detroit
Tue, 04 Dec 2012With ES, GS and LS models all now minty fresh at your local Lexus showroom, it was only a matter of time before we had official word that the company's IS had a replacement in the wings. That word has come down today in an ultra brief press release that names the date and venue that the sheet will be pulled on the new car: January 15th in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.
Don't pay too much attention to the test mule in these dusty spy shots, we're told that the small Lexus has been "completely redesigned" from the inside out and that it has drawn inspiration from the sultry LF-CC concept car. In LA we learned that the LF-CC has been green-lit for production, so we'd expect to see a lot of cues from that car (in the gallery below) lifted directly for the all-new IS. New fang-face, here we come.
While a coupe and a convertible version of the next IS are undoubtedly in the cards, too, we'd guess that the sedan will be first to go on stage at Detroit next month.
TMG's super Lexus LS Sports 650 gets track tested
Thu, 05 Sep 2013The people at Toyota Motorsport GmbH have been responsible for the Japanese automaker's motorsports efforts since the 1970s, but since Toyota pulled out of Formula One after the 2009 season, the tuning shop has been developing a super sedan based on the Lexus LS called the Sports 650. Details on TMG's first road car have been scarce, but XCAR was recently invited to drive the 641-horsepower Lexus on track.
Here's what we know: the Sports 650 has enough power to sprint to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds, tops out at 199 mph, weighs over two tons and utilizes LFA brakes. Oh, and its twin-turbo V8 bellows like an AMG V8. That last part isn't surprising when considering TMG could become Toyota's in-house tuning arm - like AMG is to Mercedes-Benz. As for the bespoke body kit, fender flares and stacked exhaust pipes? They fit the car well and even remind us a bit of Lexus' other high-performance sedan, the IS F. Currently there are no plans for the Sports 650 to be made into a production car, but we doubt TMG is devoting this much effort developing the LS into a road-rocket for nothing.
Check out XCAR's video below to see the AMG-fighter wrung out on track, and then ponder what could be if TMG were let loose to fiddle with other cars in Lexus' lineup. Now that's something we could get used to!
2015 Lexus GS F is camo-free and frisky
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Other than some missing badges and (hopefully) a not-yet-finished rear fascia, what you see here is an undisguised look at the long-awaited Lexus GS F high-performance sedan. Lexus' answer to the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, the GS F has been spotted again.
Unlike our previous spy shots, though, this time around, the sporty Lexus has been caught testing on the Nürburgring, so our spy shooters have managed to get a look at the car from all angles. Building on the aggressive styling of the GS F-Sport, the GS F gets bigger air intakes and a lower chin spoiler up front. Like before, we see the signature stacked exhaust outlets, but they still seemed roughed into rear fascia, which gets an aero-aiding diffuser.
We still only have guesses as to what will be under the hood, but a 465-horsepower, 5.0-liter V8 sounds good to us. Expect to see the production GS F on the road by 2015.
