For sale by owner:
2007 Lexus GX470 that has about 91K miles. It has served me and my family well these past few years. It was mostly driven by my wife. She switched from the RX400H to this one and she prefers the GX. The car is properly serviced and maintained. I just changed the brakes 2 weeks ago as well.
The SUV is fully loaded and comes with the backup camera, navigation, mark levinson sound dvd/cd changer and 3rd row seating. It has been garage kept for its entire life.
The car has never been in any accident and is in great condition with normal wear on the vehicle as expected. See pictures and you will notice that the car is in great shape. Another thing I just wanted to add is that this car is excellent in the snow. I am only selling because my wife and I are both commuting via mass transit for now since our jobs are in the city.
It also comes with both sets of mats (rubber and carpet), owners manual, all keys.
Summary of Options:
- Power Seating with memory for two drivers
- CD/DVD changer
- Mark Levinson Sound
- Navigation System
- Bluetooth Phone capability
- Backup Camera
- 3rd Row Seating
- Sunroof
- Ride Height Adjustment, Hill Assist, and all of the other SUV performance systems.
Condition of the vehicle:
I have checked everything out on the vehicle and it is in great shape but I wanted to point out a few specific details in an effort to fully disclose everything with the car:
1.) Rear bumped has a crack in it. I have included a picture of it. I received an estimate of $700 to fix it but I figured that the new owner can have it done at a location of their choice. It's not a big deal but this was done to the car while it was parked at a shopping mall. We had it checked out and the damage was only superficial. In fact it appears it was done by an object (happened at Home Depot) and not an actual car. We have been driving it as is for about a year.
2.) The rear spray jet for the wiper blade for the back window is missing. We think this may have happened at a car wash but we are unsure.
3.) The net for the shopping bag is included but it is missing one of the little latches that it hooks on to.
That's it. This is a great car and we will probably sell our other car and lease an RX or GX as our only vehicle.
Please email me if you would like to see it. I can leave it with my father if you need to see it during the day otherwise I am available in the evenings.

Toyota and Lexus will have standard automatic braking by 2017
Sat, Mar 26 2016Last week, NHTSA and IIHS announced that 20 auto manufacturers and three agencies had agreed to include automatic emergency braking (AEB) as standard equipment by 2022. Toyota was one of those 20 companies, but this week they upped the AEB ante: Nearly every Toyota and Lexus model and trim level will have standard AEB by 2017. That's next year. Many models already offer AEB as part of the Lexus Safety System+ and Toyota Safety Sense packages, but consumers have had to pay extra for these options (unless they leased a Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle; it already has AEB as standard equipment.) By the end of next year, all but the Lexus GS, Toyota 4Runner and Toyota 86 — which was developed together with Subaru — will have AEB installed at no extra cost. (Interestingly, the new Prius Prime unveiled at the New York International Auto Show has Safety Sense as an option rather than standard equipment.) The AEB function is part of Toyota's safety suites, which will be included in 25 Lexus and Toyota models. Both makes have a precollision system that detects the possibility of collision with the car ahead and engages the brakes if the driver doesn't react quickly enough, as well as lane departure alerts and automatic high beams. Toyota's move leapfrogs ahead of Honda making its Honda Sensing system, which includes AEB tech, available as a flat $1,000 option on every Civic Sedan. Ice driving at the Bridgestone Winter Driving School | AutoblogVR
Tue, Aug 23 2016We have two new VR episodes for you this week, both of which come from the Bridgestone Winter Driving School. In one, we get some instruction in the snow and then have a little fun sliding around. In the other, two instructors give a visual demonstration of how rear- and all-wheel-drive cars handle differently in the snow (which also includes lots of fun sliding). You get to experience it all from the passenger seat, with a view in every direction. The Bridgestone Winter Driving School is located just outside the town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Facilities include a couple of meticulously maintained ice/snow tracks and a snow skidpad – which, it happens, is the best kind of skidpad. We worked our way up from an all-wheel-drive Lexus NX crossover to a rear-drive Lexus IS, and then the staff gave their drifty demonstration in two similar Lexus IS sedans – one with rear drive and the other with all-wheel drive. There's a preview above, but for the full immersive experience, you'll need the AutoblogVR app for iOS or Android – you can download it for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too! Lexus Driving Videos VR Original Video lexus is virtual reality lexus nx 360video
Did Lexus make a BMW? Or did BMW make a Lexus? This and other 2017 surprises
Fri, Dec 29 2017It's that time of year again. The calendar is about to reach its end, Star Trek Cats 2018 is about to take its place, and I'm reflecting about all the cars that graced my driveway this year or summoned me to exotic places. You know, like Stuttgart or Phoenix. In 2017, I drove at least 57, and as I perused the list of them, I started to notice a common refrain: "This car surprised me." Most were pleasant surprises, but there were a few head scratchers and facepalms for good measure. In both cases, it was generally the result of car companies seemingly trying to break out of an existing mold. Nowhere was that more apparent than the pair of Lexuses slathered in Infrared paint: The LS 500 that left me this week and the LC 500 that was my favorite car of 2017. Though Lexus has been trying to shake its crusty, gold-packaged reputation for some time now, its efforts always seemed like an old man choosing Hollister to redo his wardrobe after realizing it hasn't been updated since 1987. I fell in love with the LC, genuinely floored by its near-perfect take on the GT. It's characterful in sound, appearance and tactility. It was at home in the city, in the mountain and on the open road. It was both comfortable and thrilling, and after driving the mechanically related LS 500, I can report that the LC's talents aren't an outlier. The LS 500's turbo V6 may make different noises than the LC's naturally aspirated V8, but it nevertheless invigorates the cabin when the car is placed in Sport+ mode. The steering is truly communicative, body motions are kept in miraculous check, and I absolutely forgot I was in an enormous luxury limo ... and a Lexus one at that. It was everything that the BMW 530e was not. I drove that on the exact same roads and was utterly bored the entire time. Generally doughy, lifeless steering, more distant than Planet 9. And no, the plug-in hybrid powertrain had nothing to do with that. At least it shouldn't. The Porsche Panamera S e-Hybrid I also drove this year proves that, as do the Hyundai Ioniqs, which are surprisingly adept and fun little cars regardless of what powers their wheels (Hyundai + hybrid = fun really blew me away). I would drive that Lexus LS F Sport over the BMW 5 Series any day of the week, which seems like a shocking thing to say in relation to either car. While Lexus is seemingly breaking out of its old crusty mold, BMW seems to be climbing into one.
