This beautiful Green Lexus was bought by my daughter on 08/26/2003 and she has been the primary driver for the last ten years. She got married, had a son and is expecting another one this summer. I gave her my Tahoe as she needs room for car seats and accessories for her boys and am selling her car for her.

She bought the Lexus GS 300 from the Arlington TX CarMax as a Certified Used car and has been happy with the mileage (25-27MPG), performance and overall quality of the car. I brought the car to our farm and had the following maintenance done  by a certified mechanic on the first week of July:

  1. Four new Goodyear Eagle GT tires
  2. Lexus Timing Belt
  3. Lexus OEM Belt
  4. Lexus Water Pump
  5. 5W30 Oil and filter
  6. Radiator flush and new Lexus coolant
  7. Lexus Air Filter
  8. New Lexus Center Console Arm Rest

The Lexus passed a Texas Vehicle Inspection for Emissions and Safety on 07/10/2013, Certificate Number E24459722. This report is available for review. I have a clean TX title with a loan release from CarMax executed and notarized on 09/02/08.

There is no body damage and all the parts have the Lexus part ID on them. The leather interior is in excellent condition as are the carpets and floor mats. The one problem I did not fix was the radio light comes on and off. The radio itself works perfectly.

I am retired and am willing to deliver this car anywhere in the USA for $0.30 a mile from our farm in Gordonville TX, 76245 to your location. This is a one way fee to cover my gas only and I will pay my own way home.

Send questions to hwilson2000@msn.com and I will answer them ASAP.

Consumer Reports: Toyota expected to announce fix for emergency trunk releases

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

According to Consumer Reports, Toyota is set to release a fix for trunk release pulls on certain Lexus vehicles that could snap off in an emergency. As you may recall, CR found the federally-mandated emergency releases could break if pulled toward the user. As it turned out, the trunk surround behaved like a fulcrum, putting more force against the center of the release than toward the trunk mechanism itself. While the organization found the problem to exist on 2013 Lexus ES and GS, Toyota was able to replicate the flaw on the IS as well.
Toyota will alert 700,000 owners of 2007-2013 Lexus ES models, 2006-2012 IS vehicles and 2013 GS cars and replace the old ABS plastic release with a sturdier polypropylene part free of charge once the components are available to dealers. The service campaign is expected to begin in January.

Consumer Reports says infotainment systems 'growing first-year reliability plague'

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

The Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability Survey (right) is out, and the top two spots look much the same as last year's list with Lexus and Toyota in first and second place, respectively. However, there are some major shakeups for 2014, with Acura plunging eight spots from third in 2013 to 11th this year, and Mazda replaces it on the lowest step of the podium. Honda and Audi round out the top five. This year's list includes six Japanese brands in the top 10, two Europeans, one America and one Korean.
Acura isn't the only one taking a tumble, though. Infiniti is the biggest loser this year by dropping 14 spots to 20th place. Other big losses come from Mercedes-Benz with an 11-place fall to 24th, and GMC, which declines 10 positions to 19th.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's not traditional mechanical bugs hauling down these automaker's reliability scores. Instead, pesky problems with infotainment systems are taking a series toll on the rankings. According to Consumer Reports, complaints about "in-car electronics" were the most grumbled about element in new cars. Problem areas included things like unresponsive touchscreens, issues pairing phones and multi-use controllers that refused to work right.

Lexus thinks small with ultra-compact LF-SA concept

Wed, Mar 4 2015

Lexus used the Geneva Motor Show to premiere its concept for a forward-thinking 2+2 urban vehicle, the LF-SA. The concept is small – Lexus says it's an "ultra-compact sub-B-segment" vehicle – and it is designed for maneuverability and agility on congested city streets. It also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the first Lexus, the LS400. The LF-SA has prominent wheel arches, the signature Lexus spindle grille and L-shaped headlights. Lexus calls the appearance "a Time in Design styling approach, in which perceptions of the vehicle change when it is viewed from different angles." It was penned in Toyota's European design studio. It's all capped with a striking paint color, called "Silver Stellar," that the automaker claims is meant to evoke space exploration. The inside has room for two, but it is biased toward the driver. The pedals and steering wheel are adjustable, and the passenger seat is slide adjustable to allow access to the rear. Perhaps the coolest feature is the infotainment system's hologram-style display. The LF-SA leaked last week, and the live shots from Geneva prove it's worth another look. Related Video: Lexus LF-SA World debut at the 2015 Geneva motor show European debut for the Lexus GS F and LF-C2 roadster concept The new Lexus LF-SA concept makes its world debut today at the 2015 Geneva motor show. Last year marked the 25th anniversary of the very first Lexus, the LS400 saloon. To celebrate this milestone, Lexus challenged ED2, its European design studio, to create a concept of an ultra-compact (sub-B-segment) urban 2+2 model. The LF-SA Concept explores unexpected territory for the brand in a powerful, emotional execution that illustrates Lexus's passion for up-coming design trends. The LF-SA Concept is also a driver-focused vehicle, reflecting Lexus's vision that in a future world where technology and virtual experiences are expected to hold more sway, the real driving experience could become the ultimate luxury. Taking that insight as inspiration, the new concept presents an audacious interpretation of Lexus's L-finesse design philosophy, while never losing sight of the requirement for driving pleasure – a quality that will always be a defining element of Lexus's progressive luxury.
