Welcome to a great opportunity. Have you ever heard of that 1-owner, very low mileage, Florida-kept automobile that was owned and driven by a little old lady, probably only to and from church on Sunday? Well, we're not sure about the religious nature of her trips, but this is that car!

Simply put, this 2003 Lexus ES300 runs and drives like new. It was purchased at County Line Lexus of Hollywood, Florida and was serviced by the professionals at the Lexus dealership. No squeaks, rattles, noises, or smells, just an ultra-luxurious and ultra-smooth ride that only a Lexus can provide. There is a reason that Lexus is considered by many automotive experts as the best riding luxury brand of any of the premium automobile makers in the world. And with only 67,000 original, sunny South Florida miles, this ES300 is just getting broken in. It is not uncommon to see this extremely durable engine and transmission combination reach 200,000 miles + of trouble-free performance. It has recently had its 60,000 mile service performed and has a fresh oil change, new air filter and wipers, and interior cabin filters as well as cooling system service and flush. The air conditioning is ice cold, and for those of you in non-tropical climates, the heater works great. It even has heated seats, with multiple settings!

The rich, elegant leather and wood trimmed interior is like new. The dark cherry accents really showcase the light beige leather very nicely, and the rear seats do not even appear to have ever been used. It is clean and fresh. This vehicle was never smoked in and neither the ashtray, nor the cigarette lighter have ever been used. This one-owner Lexus was owned by a senior, and while she did her best to have it regularly serviced and cleaned, sometimes the older folks here in Florida bump into a few things.

We are selling this low mileage Lexus in exactly the condition that we took it in. All we had our detailer do is clean it. It runs and drives phenomenal, and the interior is extra-clean. The exterior presents a wonderful and brilliant finish, but if you look closely, you will find some imperfections. This may not bother most of you, but we do our best to accurately describe our vehicles honestly and accurately. It appears this automobile was completely and professionally repainted a couple years ago. While being a Florida vehicle has HUGE benefits--(i.e. no harsh weather, no harsh roads, no hills or potholes and certainly no snow or salt), sometimes the summer sun can fade paint. So, it is not uncommon for vehicles to be re-painted. We see it a lot. On this Lexus you can literally eat off of the undercarriage as well as the engine compartment. Both are as close to new as you can find. You will not see that on a northern, or Midwest vehicle. And then once the corrosion sets in on a vehicle from other parts of the country, things will begin to rust. Things that you can see, and unfortunately, things that you cannot see. Not the case here. This car is as clean as a whistle!

So the finish is brilliant and the color is outstanding. Lexus calls it Black Garnet Pearl. It is a factory 3-stage paint process that goes into this color, making it a premium color and a $995 option from Lexus when ordered new. It looks great, and during the day, the sunlight really makes this color dance. At night it looks black. Black Cherry is the more common term we use for this color. The front bumper on the right hand side, well under the headlamp has a slight scuff. It appears she may have rubbed the wall of her garage while entering or exiting. Again, might not be a big deal to most for a 10 year old vehicle, but we are telling you about it. If interested after the sale, our cost to have it professionally repainted to like new standards is $150. There are a few nicks and scratches that you would consider consistent for a 10 year old vehicle, but you have to get up close to the car. Of course, no dents, dings or unsightly parking lot mishaps. The factory aluminum alloy wheels have a complete set of premium Yokohama Avid Endevor all-season performance radials all the way around. They are Brand new and appear to have less than 200 miles on them. Cost of these top-of-the-line Yokohama's was around $800, and they are Nitrogen filled. The rims look like new as well, with no curb rash or chips that you sometimes see. There was no skimping of the service on this Lexus at all by the previous gal!

This Lexus is fully loaded. It has complete power options as well as dual power front seats, heated seats, factory power glass moonroof, express touch windows, Premium Audio System with 6-disc CD changer and 8 surround sound speakers, factory security system, solar ray factory tinted glass, independent electronic climate control and so much more. It even has a power rear sunshade. This was a rare option. Everything works perfectly and properly, just as you would expect from a low mileage, well-maintained automobile.

The latest October 2013 NADA Used Car Guide shows the retail value of this 2003 Lexus ES300 to be over $12,575 and certainly much more at your friendly neighborhood Lexus dealership. This is a unique color and has a one-owner and Florida-kept pedigree. Please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions that you may have. I am including all the original books, manuals and supplements that came with this car when new, as well as a complete set of factory Lexus embroidered carpeted floor mats. This ES300 drives and runs outstanding, it gets excellent fuel economy and is very roomy. Plenty of room in the trunk for golf clubs or multiple suitcases, and the interior provides comfortable seating for 5 adults. This is a sensational car to take on a long road trip. With only 67,681 original miles, this Lexus was used sparingly. That's less than 6,500 miles per year. And again, very easy miles by an older owner, and pleasant Florida roads.

Don't make the mistake of missing out on this rare find. We are running this auction for 7 days with No Reserve. One lucky and savvy bidder will be getting a great vehicle. Please call or e-mail Steve at 561.283.9511 with any questions or if you would like to make an appointment to see the car. We offer transport assistance within the Continental US, and of course, free airport pick-up is available from Jacksonville International. Good Luck to everyone bidding on this classy, low mileage Lexus ES300. We do charge a nominal $299 dealer fee to each winning bid. Bid with confidence and Bid to win!

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Lexus launches supercharged LX 570 in Middle East

Thu, 01 May 2014

The Lexus LX SUV is a very muscular, old-school vehicle. Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, it's still a big, body-on-frame SUV, but inside it offers acres of leather and luxury tech. The brand's Kuwaiti distributor is taking it machismo even further for the local market with the new LX 570 Supercharger.
As the name suggests, the upgraded SUV grafts a supercharger onto the LX 570's 5.7-liter V8 to boost it to 450 horsepower, from 383 hp in the naturally aspirated version in the US (or 362 hp in the standard Kuwaiti version), and it uses the same six-speed automatic as the standard model. To signal the improved strength, much of exterior chrome is replaced with black trim. It also wears special 20-inch wheels and a rear spoiler. The interior is fitted with crimson leather seats and red-accented carpet. It also gets an aluminum sill plate that says "Supercharger." Like the standard Kuwait-spec LX 570, it has two fuel tanks with a total combined capacity of 36.46 gallons, which should help satiate the likely thirsty, forced-induction V8.
The LX 570 Supercharger won't be rumbling down streets outside of the Middle East, though. According to Lexus spokesperson Bill Kwong, this is a project by the distributor in the region. The supercharged engine also has "issues with emissions" in the US, especially in California, he told Autoblog. Too bad, it would be an interesting Range Rover alternative.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
