California Lexus Hybrid for sale in Colorado.  My apologies on the lack of photos - heavy snow here in CO and I have not gotten the car out of the garage since, so this has hampered my ability to take good quality pictures.  However, I can supply more UPON REQUEST.

Just relocated to CO from CA (August 2013) due to family needs and now with the small commute and 2 other vehicles, we simply don't drive this hybrid at all.  I bought this car in September of 2011 from a dealer in Reno, NV.  Had ~5000 miles on it then and was a relinquished vehicle due to the owner's wife being diagnosed with cancer.  Drove it home from there and have enjoyed it as a commuter car while residing in Southern California.

Garage parked at all times - even at work.  Has never seen snow or any snow road treatments since arriving in CO.  Car is in near-mint condition with the exception of a small ding near the gas filling hatch and minor nicks on the front from road debris.  Tires are 60,000-mile Continentals that were put on only a few months ago (have records), so plenty of life left, including the America's Tire transferable road hazard warranties for all 4 tires.  Recent Lexus service completed, but will repeat service before buyer picks up.  When we drove this in CA to/from work as our commuter car, our average gas mileage ranged from 38 - 42 mpg.

Roof rack is optional if you want it and is a Yakima rack with two Yakima bike loaders.  Will sell with the car ONLY if the purchase price is right (e.g., close to or exactly our asking price).  Rack is clear of the sunroof so no issues there.

Stereo has Sirius capability and is Bluetooth compatible.  Currently we have Sirius activated, but would cancel the service upon selling the car, so you would have to reactivate if desired.

Interior is the white seats with black trim and there are no tears or stains.  Includes the hard-to-find smartphone holder that sits nicely in the console near your right hand.  Perfect for GPS and Bluetooth calls.

Also has the upgraded rubber "mud" mats for passengers and the rear hatchback area.  Additionally, we added the rear cargo net - another option that has to be purchased as an accessory from the dealer.

Mirrors and hood have clear hood protector bra/coatings.

NOTE:  This car does not have the Premium package, which consists of the navigation system (that's the only difference between Premium and base).  We simply used the smartphone cradle and our iPhones for navigation assistance.

Buyer is responsible for paying for and managing shipping/pick up.  Will assist as needed.  Will also consider meeting halfway for buyer in Colorado, Wyoming or Kansas (200 miles or less).

Vehicle title is clear, but is held by the lienholder / bank, so title will be delayed until payoff has been made.

$500 non-refundable deposit to be made via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close, and then we will work together on final payment and shipment / pick up planning.  Cash, PayPal or verified Certified / Cashier's check for the exact amount accepted.  Payment should be made to the lienholder, but we can manage that later.

On Feb-11-14 at 08:20:48 PST, seller added the following information:

UPDATE:  Vehicle actually does have warranty remaining - the battery is warrantied for 100,000 miles.

More:  Vehicle is a push-start activation with two proximity keys that don't require insertion into any slots.  These proximity keys allow you to unlock and lock the vehicle simply by touching parts of the door handles and rear hatch - great when you have your hands full and can't fumble around in your pocket for the keys.  They only need to be in your possession (pocket, purse, etc.) within a particular range of the vehicle.  Additionally, as you get close to the vehicle at night, night lights come on under each side view mirror to illuminate the ground around the car. Great feature!

Volkswagen's latest ad is not subtle | Autoblog Podcast #509

Fri, Mar 24 2017

On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are joined by special guest James Riswick, who has been driving a lot of new cars lately. All of them are discussed, plus a few more from Mike and David, and Mike rants a bit about a new VW Atlas commercial. The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, during which David briefly goes out into left field. (He's back now, don't worry.) The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. This one-off Lexus RC F takes a page out of an NBA playbook

Sat, Apr 2 2016

We talk about one automaker taking a page out of another's playbook – following a lead to keep up with the competition. But this one-of-a-kind Lexus actually does take a page out of a playbook. Specifically that of the Los Angeles Clippers. The unique Lexus RC F coupe features a livery inspired by the team colors and emblazoned in tone-on-tone Xs and squiggles that look like strategic doodles from the coach's notebook. The stock horn has been replaced by a shot buzzer, the dashboard clock with a game timer, basketball-patterned speaker grilles, and Clippers logos throughout. The navigation system is voiced by the team's coach Doc Rivers, and there's a makeshift locker room in the trunk packed with memorabilia. As far as special editions go, this one's actually pretty convincing. Of course it doesn't hurt to pack a 5.0-liter V8 engine good for 467 horsepower under the hood. The vehicle was created to raise funds for the Clippers Foundation, a charity associated with the basketball team that works with children in the Los Angeles area. For $100, fans can buy raffle tickets for the chance to take it home. Toyota has long been a sponsor of the team, briefly suspending its involvement in the wake of then-owner Donald Sterling's racist remarks a couple of years ago. Related Video:

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each.
