2004 Ford F-150 Heritage XL Extended Cab Pickup 4-Door 4.2L
with A.R.E. contractors cap. Truck is being sold As-is, no warranty. Exterior: This truck was used for construction work, so it has the usual scratches and dings you would expect. Rear bumper is pushed in on the RH side (see pic). Bed has rusted area above wheel wells and at lower front on passenger side (also shown in pics). Cab and doors are still in very good condition, all the glass is good. All the doors work on the contractors cap. the rear cap glass needs new struts to hold it in the open position. Interior: Is in overall good condition. Driver seat has tear (see pics). Center console lid is broken. Passenger and rear seats are in good condition, with NO tears. Mechanical: Engine and transmission work as they should. Front brakes have just been replaced. Air conditioning works well as do the power windows and locks. The pinion seal on the rear axle is leaking and also there is some noise coming from the pinion bearings when you accelerate. The local Ford dealership recommended replace seal and pinion bearings, I can have these items replaced for a very reasonable price after the auction if the winning bidder wants. However the trucks goes down the road just fine the way it is. Tires have approx 50% tread remaining. Payment:--------$500 Paypal payment required within 48 hours of auction close. Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.
Lexus readying hot IS F Coupe
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The 2014 Lexus IS sedan has been turning heads and dividing public opinion since we first drove it. Then, as now, we knew that a revamped IS F would be in the offing at some point, but until today we had know idea what form the Lexus would take.
Our first ever batch of 2015 Lexus IS F spy shots has just come across the transom, and the camouflaged coupe - that's right, there are just two doors this time out - is awfully intriguing at first glance. A much more aggressive front end is prominent, as is the slinky roofline that finishes in a pert rear end. The signature IS grille is still in effect here, at least in terms of the shape, and while the headlamps are covered up, we'd expect some variation of the slash-like units on the 2014 IS.
Hinting at the car's performance intentions are large slotted brake rotors with significantly sized calipers, all tucked in behind dark-finish wheels. Quad exhaust tips and a retractable spoiler can be seen at the back of the car.
Next Lexus RX previewed with JDM Toyota Harrier?
Thu, 25 Jul 2013Japanese site CarWatch has revealed images of the next-generation Toyota Harrier, known to US and European buyers as the Lexus RX. The new model features a considerably more aggressive fascia in keeping with some of the latest Lexus design trends, while the back features a pair of wide, wraparound taillights.
The profile features a revised greenhouse, with a rather complex rear window treatment, while a subtle character line connects the front and rear taillights. According to the badging, the model shown features a hybrid powertrain, although there's little information on which engine is being used. We'd wager it's an evolution of the same 3.5-liter V6 hybrid found in the current RX450h.
This early look doesn't have a great deal of other info, and there are no images of the interior. We're not yet clear on how closely the North American RX will adhere to the Harrier seen here, but historically the two models have been quite close. That said, we'd expect a more prominent 'spindle' grille on the Lexus version than the baleen strainer on the vehicle shown here.
