2004 Ford F-150 Heritage XL Extended Cab Pickup 4-Door 4.2L
with A.R.E. contractors cap. Truck is being sold As-is, no warranty. Exterior: This truck was used for construction work, so it has the usual scratches and dings you would expect. Rear bumper is pushed in on the RH side (see pic). Bed has rusted area above wheel wells and at lower front on passenger side (also shown in pics). Cab and doors are still in very good condition, all the glass is good. All the doors work on the contractors cap. the rear cap glass needs new struts to hold it in the open position. Interior: Is in overall good condition. Driver seat has tear (see pics). Center console lid is broken. Passenger and rear seats are in good condition, with NO tears. Mechanical: Engine and transmission work as they should. Front brakes have just been replaced. Air conditioning works well as do the power windows and locks. The pinion seal on the rear axle is leaking and also there is some noise coming from the pinion bearings when you accelerate. The local Ford dealership recommended replace seal and pinion bearings, I can have these items replaced for a very reasonable price after the auction if the winning bidder wants. However the trucks goes down the road just fine the way it is. Tires have approx 50% tread remaining. Payment:--------$500 Paypal payment required within 48 hours of auction close. Here's why our Lexus NX is uglier than the rest of the world's
Fri, 01 Aug 2014Take a good look at the image above. That's the US-market Lexus NX 300h, and it looks, well... distinctive. Although the entire NX crossover sports styling that could certainly be described as controversial, it's the front end of the 'ute that seems to draw most of the ire, befitted as it is with Lexus' so-called spindle grill.
Now, take a look at the pair of images just below. The one on the left is from the States (the same model seen above), while the one on the right comes from Europe. Notice a difference? The lower front fascia of the European Lexus NX dips down much lower than the one from the US, and it looks much more refined because of it.
Why the disparity between the two designs? According to Top Gear Philippines, the reason why the US gets the more pointy proboscis is because of its classification as a light truck. It seems trucks are required to have some sort of concession to the car's approach angle - in other words, a truck should be able to clear an obstacle that a car might hit. Why does Lexus care if the NX is a car or truck? Well, that has to do with how fuel economy is reported, as trucks are given less-stringent requirements for Corporate Average Fuel Economy purposes.
Consumer Reports: Toyota expected to announce fix for emergency trunk releases
Thu, 13 Dec 2012According to Consumer Reports, Toyota is set to release a fix for trunk release pulls on certain Lexus vehicles that could snap off in an emergency. As you may recall, CR found the federally-mandated emergency releases could break if pulled toward the user. As it turned out, the trunk surround behaved like a fulcrum, putting more force against the center of the release than toward the trunk mechanism itself. While the organization found the problem to exist on 2013 Lexus ES and GS, Toyota was able to replicate the flaw on the IS as well.
Toyota will alert 700,000 owners of 2007-2013 Lexus ES models, 2006-2012 IS vehicles and 2013 GS cars and replace the old ABS plastic release with a sturdier polypropylene part free of charge once the components are available to dealers. The service campaign is expected to begin in January.
Next-gen Lexus IS design revealed to be swoopiest yet
Wed, 09 Jan 2013We drove it while it was covered in cloth and vinyl not long ago, but before the 2014 Lexus IS350 F-Sport gets revealed at the Detroit Auto Show and we find out everything about it, Lexus has graced us with images. In addition to the spindle grille - with an elevated waistline on the F-Sport - the coming IS gets a jagged set of dual-beam headlights with L-shaped DRLs that are, for the first time on a Lexus, separate from the main units. Further back, the side sills get a twist and intense sculpting throughout the length of the longer wheelbase.
Inside is an LFA-inspired cockpit with thinner sport seats and more room in just about every area, the moving "driver's meter" in the dash cluster, electrostatic controls for cabin temperature control, 60/40 folding rear seats and "metal film 3-D-effect ornamentation."
The F-Sport package will be available on the IS250, IS350, IS300h equipped with Lexus Hybrid Drive. The hybrid will not come to the US.
