2003 Range Rover-needs Motor Work (timing Chain Guides) on 2040-cars
Springfield, Missouri, United States
I am selling my 2003 Range Rover. I am selling it because the timing chain guides have broken. Import Specialists in Springfield, MO says it will be $3,000-4500 to repair the car. I have a long list of recent repairs that were done either under my ownership, or the previous owner's ownership. I bought the car in June 2013. The biggest thing that has been done is a Remanufactured Transmission from Atlantic British. Cost of the transmission was $4200, and Land Rover in Tulsa installed it. This was done by the previous owner, and I have receipts for both the transmission and installation. This Rover is very clean inside and out! It was originally a California car, so there is no rust. Non Smoker owned.
Here is the list of recent repairs: Remanufactured Transmission from Atlantic British and installed by Land Rover Tulsa at around 127,000 miles Air Suspension removed, and converted to Coil Suspension New Radiator, Fan Clutch, Water Pump, Thermostat, Expansion Tank, and ALL Coolant hoses. Valley Pan Gasket replaced New Drivers Side Front Turn Signal Assembly (original was cracked) New Struts for Hood and Hatch New Stabilizer Bar Links, Thrust Arm Bushings, and Ball Joints New Side Trim Panels for Driver's and Passenger's side front seats. These are commonly cracked, and or very dirty. Pair of Land Rover Winter Wiper Blades New Throttle Body Battery replaced last winter New Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter New Valve Cover Gaskets and Upper Timing Cover Gaskets. This doesn't matter much since this will all have to come apart anyway. 5 new tires, and it has been recently aligned. Kenwood Stereo with Back Up Camera. I have invested a lot of money into this vehicle. As stated earlier, the estimate to repair the vehicle is $3,000 for the timing chain guides. IF it is determined that any valves have been bent, and head work is required than the cost of repair can go up to about $4500. I am confident that once the motor is repaired, this will have many years of service ahead of it. Unfortunately for me, I no longer have the patience or willingness to spend any more money on this vehicle. This is a case of my loss is your gain. Please feel free to email, call or text with any questions. Buyer pays for shipping! The engine does indeed run, though it is not recommended to start it up for fear of ruining the valves. This is a no reserve auction! Chris 417-343-8367 |

Pivi Pro Jaguar Land Rover Infotainment Review | A massive improvement
Fri, Aug 6 2021Infotainment systems in Jaguar Land Rover products have irked us for a long while. They’re generally a good step — or several — behind other luxury automakers' infotainment systems in terms of features and looks. But the big problem has always been their functionality. Even right out of the gate, they exhibited an undue amount of lag and general bugginess. Pivi Pro is supposed to change all of that. ItÂ’s JLRÂ’s completely new-from-the-ground-up infotainment system that is quickly spreading across the companyÂ’s range of products. It features a new screen size and layout. Plus, the software itÂ’s running is vastly different from what we saw previously. Our Byron Hurd got a first taste of it with a number of JLR products in a short period of time and found it to be a big improvement. Now, weÂ’ve had a new Land Rover Discovery in the garage for a longer period to fully suss out the system. Will it hold up? Watch the video above for a quick tour, and keep reading for some more detailed thoughts. Before diving in too deep, you should know off the top that Pivi Pro is a massive improvement over JLR infotainment systems of old. There are still some issues, but the new systemÂ’s performance is exponentially better than what itÂ’s replacing. This is partly thanks to it now running off its own backup battery. This allows the whole system to load immediately upon startup, ensuring that you arenÂ’t sitting and waiting for items to populate after you press the start button. The new 11.4-inch screen this software plays on is splendid to both look at and touch. ItÂ’s a super-high-resolution panel, and it takes to our inputs quickly and without protest. The new UI layout makes things easier and prettier, too. All of your important items are tucked into a panel on the left, making them super easy to find and select. Plus, a sticky “home” button means you can always find your way out of menus when youÂ’re done diving around. We dig the three-panel home screen and its minimalist style, but for those who might favor maximum functionality over a pretty home screen, you can replace this with rows of app icons. For those wanting to use their phones, there is indeed an in-car WiFi data plan available to buy. Plus, JLR newly allows you to connect two devices via Bluetooth instead of just one. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are nicely integrated with this new system.

Jaguar Land Rover output at two UK plants hit by chip shortage
Thu, Apr 22 2021LONDON — Output at two of Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) British car factories will be temporarily halted from Monday, due to COVID-19 supply chain disruption, including a lack of semi-conductors, the firm said on Thursday. "We have adjusted production schedules for certain vehicles which means that our Castle Bromwich and Halewood manufacturing plants will be operating a limited period of non-production from Monday 26th April," the Tata Motors-owned company said. The COVID-19 pandemic has driven up demand for semiconductor chips for use in electronics like computers, as people worked from home, and suppliers are struggling to adjust, hitting output at many automakers. Trade flows have also been affected. On Wednesday, carmaker Stellantis said it would replace digital speedometers with more old-fashioned analogue ones in one of its Peugeot models, as the fallout continues. Renault's finance chief said on Thursday that car production fell by tens of thousands of vehicles in the first quarter as a result of the shortage. Output at JLR's third British car factory in Solihull, central England, will continue, the company said. "We are working closely with affected suppliers to resolve the issues and minimize the impact on customer orders wherever possible." Â
