2001 Range Rover Hse 4.6 V8 Black W Grill Guard And Running Boards *low Reserve* on 2040-cars

I have owned this great 2001 Range Rover HSE for a couple of years and I am very sad to sell it, but I have run out of space in my garage. I purchased it from a father and son who together had owned it for more than 10 years.
Black exterior with a graphite grey and polished wood interior. The OEM Land Rover grill guard, running boards and roof rack really make this truck look rugged and better looking than the standard Range Rover models. It has a towing package, including power hookup, so it will work great as a stylish trailer tow vehicle. The paint is in good condition, with a few scratches and paint defects consistent with its age and mileage. I've included pictures of the most notable scratches. I have also included a picture of a minor ding (approx 1 inch) above the driver side rear window, which a paintless dent removal place should be able to remove if it bothers you. The interior and leather seats are in really great condition. The car has some wear and tear as you would expect for a 2001 model car, but I believe it is definitely in "well above average" condition. As you'll see in the pictures, the car cleans up well after a wash and vacuum and will look great in your driveway and on the road. I have truly loved this truck and know you will too. The 4.6 liter V8 engine has approximately 176,716 miles and has been well taken care of. It fires up immediately and has plenty of power and towing capacity. The brakes are excellent, which is essential for a large vehicle like this. There are no warning lights on the dash. When I purchased the vehicle, I had my mechanic thoroughly inspect it and address any problems. Recent work includes: New serpentine belt and tensioner; Refurbish throttle body assembly; Drive line service of front and rear differentials; Front brake service, including system flush, rotor resurfacing, brake pads and wheel bearings; ABS brake accumulator replacement; Radiator and thermostat replacement; Passenger side front wheel hub replacement; Water pump and drive belt replacement; Cruise control vacuum line replacement; and Front driver side window regulator replacement. In addition, the previous owner had the head gaskets replaced and converted the air suspension to coil suspension, which alone should save thousands of dollars in repair bills going forward. Service records are available for the recent work. A couple of items that still need to be addressed include the following: The sunroof needs to be serviced as the "Sunroof Not Set" message appears on the info screen when starting the vehicle. The sunroof opens and closes just fine - it may just need some new seals and minor adjustment. Also, the climate control blower motors need to be replaced. I have replacement blower motors and the buyer will receive them along with the vehicle at no charge. I was going to install them, but I haven't had time. It should be a relatively easy job for any professional or home mechanic. Bottom line: This is a solid and well maintained Range Rover that should make the owner very happy. Good luck bidding. I have set a low reserve. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. I am happy to make the vehicle available for inspections and/or test drives prior to the auction ending. |

Jaguar-Land Rover will use recycled waste to make parts for future models
Thu, Oct 1 2020Jaguar-Land Rover's future models will be partially made of junk. The company announced it's working on integrating a recycled material named Econyl into its manufacturing process in the coming years. Created in 2011 by Italy-based Aquafil, Econyl is a fiber made with a blend of recycled industrial plastics, fabric offcuts sourced from clothing manufacturers, and discarded fishing nets aimlessly floating around the ocean. It's more eco-friendly to produce than oil-based fibers, according to Jaguar, and it helps clean up the planet. Jaguar and Land Rover will use Econyl to make floor mats in the not-too-distant future. Neither company listed the models they'll put the material in, but it's reasonable to assume recycled floor mats will be available in the next-generation XJ, which will be electric, and the next-generation Range Rover. Both will be released in 2021. Eco-friendly materials are slowly but surely spreading across the luxury car segment. Jaguar already offers the I-Pace with a Kvadrat upholstery that combines regular wool and up to 53 recycled plastic bottles per car. Audi's fourth-generation A3 is optionally available with an upholstery made largely using recycled plastic bottles, and Volvo estimates at least 25% of the plastics in its cars will be recycled starting in 2025. Environmentalist organizations are putting an increasing amount of pressure on carmakers to deliver so-called vegan interiors. A group called EarthSight recently accused several companies (including Jaguar-Land Rover and BMW) of using leather from cattle raised on illegally logged lands in Paraguay. Representatives for the British company stressed they found no evidence to verify EarthSight's claims. Related Video:
All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)
Thu, Sep 30 2021Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.  No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?
10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019
Tue, Dec 24 2019It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references. Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.
