I am proud to present for sale is this beautiful Fully Loaded 1993 Range Rover Classic County SWB which ii Europe would have been a Vogue SE model and referred to as a Westminster Edition. For those of you who know the Range Rover Classic understand the rarity of an All Original non-rusted Range Rover Classic these days in relation to other Range Rover Classics available across the Globe. The 1993 Range Rover Classic was the last year Westminster Grey Metallic Paint and the Westminster Grey Connolly Leather interior with the 5 bar vertical pattern was used. This is also a rare Change over model because most 1993 range rover were fitted with air suspension systems from the factory and this is one of the last Rover to have coil springs from the factory with the hydraulic leveling unit in the rear and sway bars. This model also fitted with the rare 16” Classic Flat 5 spoke wheels with Black Face and a polished Aluminum Lip and has a matching set of A/T Tires size 225/80/R16. The V8 3.9L gas powered motor producing 187HP at 4750 rpms and 232ft-lb torque at 3250 rpms, Automatic Four speed ZF Transmission and the Borg Warner Hi/Lo range Transfer Box. Because these vehicles were produced in England Most were Right hand drive and many were sold with the basics like cloth seats, three spoke wheels and no sun/moon roofs just to name a few things that are obvious to the eye. The U.S. Market demanded on having their Rovers Fully loaded with Leather, Sport Wheels, Power Seats and all the other goodies as standard equipment. This Rover is probably one of the best conditioned Rovers you will find anywhere in the world and is also a left hand drive. I bought this Rover 6 years ago from the original owner with just over 50,000 miles on her. I proceeded to have the Boge hydraulic unit replaced along with the sway bar ball joints and also rebuilt the calipers and installed new Performance cross driller/slotted rotors installed and I replaced the ABS Pump and Accumulator. I had the windows tinted by the specialist at Mercedes Benz of Beverly Hills for when I bought it in 06 it had clear tint and I had to have the old removed at great expense to fit the new tint which is specially designed not to interfere with the radio antenna. I was also very surprised at the condition the Rover was in when I got it for she had never been smoked in and had been garage kept since new and considering she had clear tint for 14 years WOW. I have spent a lot of time and hard work making sure that all systems are functioning as they should and have been properly serviced so her next owner can enjoy her to the fullest. This Rover is Original from the Paint to the Leather. The leather is very soft and has a beautiful texture with no wear on the outer strip of the driver’s front seat and the heated seats work! The carpets are in great shape as well as the Cut-Pile Mats which are protected by a new set of factory very hard to find and very expensive rubber mats front and rear and also has a rear trunk liner with 3” sides to keep the rear trunk carpet looking like new and has the factory load space protector and rear side covers all in like new condition even the side net is intact and the matching spare has never been used and yes it is a matching full size wheel in black not a steel wheel like found on most 1993 and newer models. On the outside the vehicle the paint is glossy and the trim still looks new and is in like new condition. The front and rear badges were replaced with the silver and black logos to contrast better with the grey, silver and black scheme this rover boasts. The lighting around the vehicle is in like new condition as well has matching tires and I have gone through the interior and made sure that all switches work as well as light up to tell you so. A rare and expensive mod done which will not be found on any pre-1995 rover is illuminated window switches front/rear and moon-roof switches for even the 1995 models only had the 4 in the console that light up. The ADS sound system operates like new and the radio lights and buttons all work as well as all or the speakers including the adjustable sub-woofer and factory 6 disk CD changer. All windows, moon-roof, door locks and latches operate smoothly and the shocks on the upper tailgate operate well. All trim on this rover is like new from the bumpers, grill, valance, door panels, vinyl, wood and headliner. This Rover is a perfect rust free example of a Range Rover Classic and has lived in the southern California all her life and has no rust anywhere. Currently the Rover has 97,500 original miles and drives and looks like new. I have had many People ask what year it was for she looks brand new and when I told them what year she was they were in awe and responded that looks like fun to drive or are you going on Safari for she looks and is ready to GO Anywhere. I recently replaced the Alternator with a new 125amp unit. I also extensively had my technician go through the vehicle and service all components from the motor, drive train and other moving or rotating parts from the interior to under the hood etc… there is a saying in the Rover community that if your rover doesn’t leak its empty does not apply here for she is dry and has no leaks so I guess she is the exception to the rule. I myself am a collector/enthusiast of these amazing luxury adventure vehicles and I have made sure she is in the type of condition I demand with all my cars and therefore I am sure she will not disappoint any of you other enthusiasts out there or even if you are just joining the Rover community for the first time. This is my personal Rover and as a Restoration Specialist and Collector/Enthusiast it is not often you come across an original beauty like this but I feel it is best to pass her on to another Collector/Enthusiast as myself now for I commute to far to work and don’t want to put any more miles on her than needed for she is Cherry. The mileage is currently 97K and runs, drives and looks great. The Rover has mirror like Westminster Grey Metallic Paint and the Westminster Grey Leather no wear and still feels and looks like new. The Wood trim in the console was sent specialist to have it refinished with new burled walnut veneer and I also installed a new shift selector trim with the stickers still on it so you can pull them off like opening a gift for most of these are worn internally and it is always nice to pull a sticker off something new. The Ride is solid and smooth and the 3.9 liter V8 runs smooth and has lots of power. Transmission shifts smooth and can be shifted from Hi to Lo gears easily and there is no binding in the Viscous Coupler or in the transfer box as well. The brakes have great stopping power as well. the matching set of tires size 225/80/R16 and Classic Flat 5 star rims, Wipac fog lamps (no pitting/cracks), new wiper blades front/rear, Front and Rear Factory Light Guards with no rust. The factory Heated Windshield looks like new and has no pitting or cracks. The vehicle was one owner until September of 2006 and I was lucky to find her and with the proper care I have kept her to as close to new as possible. The headliner was just replaced and the ash tray and lighter have never been used. There is no splicing into the Factory Harness for she is original so I (thank god) LOL. All options on this Rover work like they should: all four windows, moon-roof, door locks, rear hatch, front/rear defrosters, power heated mirrors, headlight washers, front/rear wipers/washers, ABS System, power steering, cooling system, factory 6-disk CD Changer/cartridge/tape deck, auto dim rear view mirror, ADS sound system with factory bass box in the rear and really packs a punch, Power Heated front seats, rear child safety locks, climate control with Ice Cold A/C and blistering heat and the Cruise Control works WOW. I would have to say that on a scale of 1-10 overall this Rover would easily get a 10 This Rover has always been very well taken care of and has none of the typical rust issues found on most East Coast Rovers. She is registered/smog tested and I have the title in hand so please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to arrange to view. I can be reached by email or by phone. Jaguar SUV mule doing Ring testing in Evoque clothes

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Jaguar has moved its Range Rover Evoque-bodied tests of the production C-X17 Concept from icy streets to the legendary Nürburgring, as work continues on the brand's first SUV.
Really, there's not a great deal of new stuff here. Based on the number plates, this is a different vehicle from the one we saw back in March, which we originally identified as the upcoming replacement for the Land Rover Freelander/LR2. The details, though, appear largely the same. The biggest distinction we can see between the March tests and this are the US-spec headlights, which add amber reflectors at their sides. Based on these shots, it does seem as if the C-X17 should be a fairly poised road vehicle, as the engineers hustle it around the 'Ring.
Of course, as soon our spies can capture images of a production-bodied C-X17, we'll be sure to pass those on to you. Until then, take a look up top for images of the Range Rover-bodied Jaguar as it tests at Germany's Nürburgring. You can also scroll down for our March images for the C-X17 mules testing on public roads.

Jaguar may join the FWD, small-car parade

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

Was it right for Chevrolet to detune the 1975 Corvette's base engine to 165 horsepower? Was Aston Martin wrong to make the Toyota iQ-based Cygnet? Is BMW crazy to be testing the new 1 Series with three-cylinder engines and front-wheel drive? It seems now, just as in the 1970s and 1980s, that emissions regulations and social considerations are driving some automakers to adopt unbefitting practices to maintain acceptance in the eyes of governments and consumers. Jaguar has jumped on the bandwagon, and is considering development of small, frugal, front-wheel-drive cars to help lower Jaguar Land Rover's average vehicle CO2 levels in light of tightening European emissions regulations, Autocar reports.
By 2020, the European Union expects the model range of every manufacturer to average 95 grams per kilometer, which is a new law passed by the European Parliament in April. Manufacturers who make more than 300,000 vehicles per year must meet these targets, and JLR is expected to be producing up to 700,000 vehicles per year by then. CO2 regulations after 2020 will only get stricter, as EU politicians already are talking about lowering CO2 levels to between 68 g/km and 78 g/km. (To put that in perspective, Autocar posits that driving a fully charged electric vehicle in Europe produces about 75 g/km when factoring in the power-generation infrastructure.)
Jaguar has some choices here, but so far they all have drawbacks. It could develop a new, compact chassis architecture for a line of compact vehicles, but the investment required for such a project could be prohibitively expensive. Jaguar has been looking into using the Land Rover Evoque platform for a small SUV, Autocar reports, but Land Rover brand manager John Edwards raises issue with such a plan, saying it may not be financially feasible.
