Here it is finally a reasonably priced sought after Classic that is OBVIOUSLY escalating in price. Im giving this one away today as I know what the potential is on this great SUV. Prices on these range from 3000  to 20,000...up to 100,000 for a 2 door mint condition.1970 model.(WOW) This is your chance to quickly respond to a fantastic Legendary super reliable Range Rover. You can Drive this Rover anywhere it has made several trips to Texas and back as well as Durango/Ouray Colorado with zero problems. I purchased this car 4 years ago and drive it every day all over the Phoenix valley. This is a Arizona car that has no rust. The highly sought after BELUGA BLACK paint was the only option on the LWB when new for $300 extra. The exterior paint is nice in some areas and faded in others The power seats and sunroof with all power windows working  with extremely cold efficient A/C. The transmission shifts smooth, engine runs as it should.Overall properly maintained by me..Im a avid home mechanic that does it right.Included is the FACTORY service manual (125.00 value) This rover is very easy to work on and pretty straight forward with the BUICK inspired V-8 4.2 liter..supposedly a chevy 350 motor drops right in!!! But no worries here this motor has been Properly maintained and very reliable. It looks as though it has been replaced before I bought it.with 114,000 miles it now shows 187,000..it runs strong. It has never ever left me stranded. It has had very few trips off road...primarily up in SEDONA embarrassing all the PINK JEEPS with its outstanding performance in total luxury almost feels like a Cadillac on the rough trails. The engine compartment is clean but does show the RED DIRT of SEDONA stains ?..Im sure it can be removed with a steam clean. The Air suspension was replaced with springs. The front drive shaft was replaced two months ago...I have replaced the Steering gear box  3 years ago and refitted all the transmissions and Oil cooler lines 2 years ago. New alternator 1 year ago. Most all the parts new  from British Atlantic. New front brakes with caliper kit 3 months ago. This car runs very cool with no over heating or hot run issues ever. Here is what it needs the roof paint clear coat is faded and the Tail gate needs some paint (See PIC ) although the hood and sides of the rover still has tons of deep shine.the front windshield has a 5 in crack passenger side up high.  A good detail would do wonders but judge for yourself.I wanted you to see it as its used daily with no spit and polish..as a new owner usually gets a lot of enjoyment bringing it back to awesome shine inside and out. The Cruise control does not work.and it needs a headliner. When I bought the car no service lights stayed on  but then I had all four rotors replaced and the rear brakes probably wee not bleed out correctly. The abs light sometimes stays on depends on how it was parked..if on an incline parked over night stays off?, indicating minor air in the rear lines. The drivers side valve cover needs to be tightened and or gasket replaced It drips a very small amount of oil. no other known leaks. Im selling as is no detail clean up or anything ..BUT ALSO INCLUDING A COMPLETE SECOND INTERIOR with an additional 2 more front seats . totaling 6 front seats  with two back seats and a complete factory carpet kit with factory sound proofing .plus lots of other parts that are good to have. Also included is the 800 dollar safari Rack with an Additional trailer hitch rack for a tremendous amount of storage including a pelican style rack box. Also Weathertech Rubber floor mats and the original factory carpet floor mats with range rover emblems and a high end TWEaKED and TUNED  Ranger C.B Radio hard loaded with High gain K40 Base load antenna Rover has also been wired for Sirius radio with antennae...NO WHERE ELSE are you going to find all this great range rover stuff in one steal of a price...I really hate to sell it...but have son in college..

Tesla layoffs, new safety mandates, and a bumper crop of V12s! | Autoblog Podcast #830

Fri, May 3 2024

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd for a gasoline-powered installment. They lead off by diving into the Tesla layoff news from this week before leaving electrification behind for a bit to talk about not one, but two production V12 unveilings. This isn't a drill, folks; Aston Martin and Ferrari are both committed. After that, they touch on the U.S. government announcement that it would mandate automatic emergency braking systems starting in 2029. They finish up the news segment with a chat about Fisker. Poor, poor Fisker. From there, it's on to the road tests. The Autoblog team has been testing out some EVs and both Byron and Greg had some thoughts to share, plus we get a final update from Byron on the long-term Subaru WRX and some notes from both drivers about the updated Range Rover Evoque.  Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Jaguar Land Rover building new Special Vehicle Operations facility

Sun, 17 Aug 2014

It's only been a couple of months since Jaguar Land Rover announced the formation of its new Special Operations division, and we've already seen a number of vehicles to come out of it. But now the British automaker has announced a new facility that will house its elite skunkworks department.
Set to be built at Prologis Park in Ryton, England, on the outskirts of Coventry, the new Special Vehicle Operations Technical Centre will encompass dedicated production lines, F1-style flexible workshops, a dedicated paint studio and VIP suite for commissioning bespoke projects. JLR will spend some $33 million on the facility that will be home to 150 specialists - 100 of them being new hires.
The first project which the Special Operations division is working on is the F-Type Project 7, but we've already seen more projects in the pipeline - including the upcoming Range Rover Sport SVR - and you can bet there'll be more. The revival of the Lightweight E-Type also falls under Special Operations, but is undertaken by the Jaguar Heritage department located nearby at Browns Lane.
