1993 Land Rover, Range Rover Classic, Dune Buggy, Side By Side Utv. 3.9 V8. on 2040-cars
Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada
This is an auction for a 1993 Range Rover Classic powered by a 3.9 EFI V8. The Classic bodywork has been replaced by a Traka kit which is produced by NCF Motors of Bishop Auckland, Yorkshire, England. The Traka bolts directly onto a Range Rover 100 inch chassis. It is lightweight and the roll cage is manufactured from 48mm BS 1387 Motor Sport Association approved tube. The whole front end with integral bull bar and galvanised steel bonnet pivots forward allowing excellent engine access. This all bolts onto the Range Rover chassis complete with galvanised side panels, galvanised inner arches and plastic mudguards. CHASSIS: 1993 Range Rover 100 inch wheelbase. Front and rear overhangs removed. Chassis is perfect and has never been repaired. All suspension mounts remain standard Range Rover. ENGINE: 3.9 EFI V8. 185 bhp at 4750rpm. 235 lb/ft or torque at 2600 rpm. Perfect working order. No oil loss or overheating. Excellent oil pressure. Just rebuilt with all gaskets and seals replaced. Heads slightly skimmed. New cam, hydraulic lifters, timing chain and sprockets. New valve springs. New plugs and leads. Vehicle has a top speed in excess of 100 MPH. SUSPENSION AND AXLES: Fully rebuilt front and rear axles. New, black teflon coated front swivels, gator protected. New polybushings. 4 X new springs, 4 X new shocks. Even though springs are standard height and loading they give a slightly stiffer ride due to the dramatic weight reduction over a standard Range Rover. BRAKES: Standard Range Rover. Discs all round. Rebuilt calipers with new seals and stainless steel pistons. New pads. Stainless Goodridge hoses. New brake lines. New master cylinder and new servo. WHEELS/TYRES: BF Goodrich All Terrains 33X12.5 R15. Spare is new with 13.5mm of tread. the rest showing 12mm of tread. Black, steel modular rims. GERABOX: Permanent 4WD with limited slip centre diff. 4 speed ZF automatic. High and low ratio. Completely standard and free from any defects. All seals and gaskets replaced. New transfer chain. New filter and fluids. A road speed of 70MPH equates to 2500 RPM in top gear. STEERING: LHD and power assisted. I spent this Winter converting it from RHD. Quite a simple job thanks to the Land Rover construction. Light and precise at all road speeds. PROPANE: Vehicle was professionally converted to run on just propane in 2000. I have a UK certificate of conformity. Starts instantly and runs perfect even from cold. A 66L and 90L feeds the V8. You can only fill to 80% which gives you a capacity of 125L. 18 MPG is easily achievable which gives you just under a 500 mile range. I have just rebuilt the BRC AT90E dual diaphragm vaporiser. Incredibly simple open loop system. QUESTIONS: I'm sure there will be many. I have owned this vehicle since 2006 and imported it into Canada from the UK in 2008. I am currently going through the registration process in B.C. Due to the bodywork change I had a Structural Integrity Report which includes a steering alignment report. I have my UK registration Cert. and correctly stamped Vehicle Import Form 1 for vehicles over 15 years old. I just need a safety inspection (Brakes, lights, heater, glass, washers, seat belts etc.) which I am told the vehicle will pass if I disable the propane and do the test powered by petrol. If the Range Rover goes to a new owner I would like some input as to what to do. Make the propane system comply to B.C. rules.(I have copper lines and apparently you need rubber) Fit a fuel cell and pump alongside the propane or remove the propane and install fuel cells and pump. Keep as is and use just for off road. Auction is for the vehicle as is.Vehicle is located at V1E 0B2. B.C. Canada and I welcome any inspection or test drive. If you are serious about this vehicle you must do your own homework. I will help with all shipping, collection and delivery instructions. It might look like a child's toy but it is a very large and powerful vehicle. Please see the last two photos next to a four door Jeep for scale purposes. Range Rovers are incredibly tough vehicles and the 100" wheelbase is ideal for off road use. Not too long as to hinder off road progress yet long enough to be stable at highway speeds. I have built many over the years and even entered another 100" Range Rover in various Dakar rallies. If you would like to see and hear this vehicle running please search YouTube for a "1993 Range Rover Traka Propane." If I have failed to answer your questions please do not hesitate to contact me via eBay or Tel: 250 833 5550. Thanks, Steven.

Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood
Fri, 29 Nov 2013Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.
Best luxury SUVs of 2022 and 2023
Mon, Sep 12 2022Once upon a time, the idea of a luxury SUV meant a Range Rover, and even that was pretty agricultural by modern standards. Then Jeep Grand Cherokees and Ford Explorers started offering fancy, range-topping versions followed soon by Lexus, BMW and Mercedes dipping their toes in the water. And then the floodgates opened. Today, there is a staggering number of luxury SUVs available in every shape, size and price point. There are electric luxury SUVs like the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace, as well as gas-swilling, high-performance SUVs like the BMW X5 M and Cadillac Escalade V. Sports car makers Porsche, Aston Martin and Lamborghini have even dived in. But of this great many, which are the best luxury SUVs? We sat down, scoured our reviews, took some votes, had some discussions and came up with the luxury SUVs we view as the best. They are listed alphabetically within the six segments listed below. Best Subcompact Luxury SUV | Best Compact Luxury SUV | Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Two-Row) Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Three-Row) | Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Two-Row) | Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Three-Row) Best subcompact luxury SUVs Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class Why it stands out: Outstanding space and versatility; legit luxury interior; amusing GLB 35 versionCould be better: Overwhelming and confusing tech interface Most subcompact luxury SUVs are a dubious value, with cramped interiors of marginal quality and unrefined driving dynamics. You'd be much better off paying less money for a loaded, non-luxury compact SUV. The Mercedes GLB is different, though. Its boxy design provides space few other subcompact SUV can match (luxury or otherwise), while its cabin design and feature content are in keeping with pricier Mercedes models. The quality's not exactly up to GLC standards, nor is driving refinement, but the difference is appropriate for how much you're saving and still perfectly acceptable. There's nothing dubious about buying a GLB. Volvo XC40 Why it stands out: More features for the money; spacious and versatile interior; distinctive design; electric versionCould be better: Fuel-efficient base engine only available with FWD Most subcompact luxury models feel a bit like cheap knockoffs of their bigger, pricier brand mates. The XC40, by contrast, is a break from the Volvo norm in a good way.
Your guide to vehicle subscription services
Mon, Oct 1 2018They might be extremely limited in scope because of location availability, but vehicle subscription services are a growing trend that most luxury manufacturers are jumping on. Plans are expensive, but you're paying for much more than just the car typically. We highlighted four of the larger plans with a few more listed at the end. Care by Volvo Volvo launched its subscription service last year with its brand-new XC40. It was the only vehicle available for a time, but subscribers can now get an S60 sedan as well. Subscriptions are for two years, with the monthly price including insurance, a concierge service, wear-and-tear item replacements and all maintenance. You'll be able to drive 15,000 miles per year with whichever Volvo you choose, and although there are no options to extend that mileage, you can swap cars after a year. Pricing for the XC40 is $650 per month in base trim, while an S60 can be as expensive as $850 for the R-Design. Volvo's plan is to offer more cars soon through the service, but it's relatively limited compared to others right now. Porsche Passport Porsche has two levels in its subscription service: Launch and Accelerate. Launch will cost $2,000 per month and give you access to the Cayman, Boxster, Macan and Cayenne. All of those but the Cayenne can be had in "S" trim as well. Accelerate is where the fun really starts. For $3,000 per month you can choose from a fleet of 911s, including the S, 4S, Cabriolet and Cabriolet S. If those aren't enough, you can also get the Panamera 4S, Macan GTS and Cayenne S. There are no mileage limits and you can change vehicles as often as you'd like. Also included in the price is insurance, repairs, detailing and any maintenance. It might be extremely expensive and limited to Atlanta only, but this subscription service is second-to-none for what you get. Audi Select Audi just launched its subscription car service, and it's offered in one version for a flat fee of $1,395 per month. For that you'll have access to five different cars including the A4, S5 Coupe, A5 Cabriolet, Q5, and Q7. Not a bad range of vehicles, but it would've been neat to see the recently updated A7 in there too. Maybe in time. Like the others, insurance and maintenance are wrapped up in the price. Audi is allowing for unlimited miles and two car swaps per month here. In addition to that, you'll get two days of free rentals through Audi's Silvercar rental agency should you go on a trip.
