Very Clean California Rust-free 2004 Land Rover Discovery Se7 1 Owner Dii Se-7 on 2040-cars
San Mateo, California, United States
Remarkably clean 2004 Land Rover Discovery Series II. This is a sough-after SE7 model fully loaded with all amenities except DVD. This Discovery is a SEVEN PASSENGER model, with the dual extra seats in rear, dual Power sunroofs and rear AC system. The 04' DII was the last year of the Discovery Series ( only 2003 and 2004 received the engine and suspension upgrade and revised front end and taillights. The 2004 is the desired model to own, specially one in the SE-7 configuration). No "death-range engine" issues and other drama endemic to all 2003 models. This Land Rover is and has been a 100% rust-free CALIFORNIA CAR all of its life. It has been locally owned since purchased brand-new at Land Rover of San Jose in the south bay, and owned by the same person since. NEVER in any accidents, repaints, or anything other than normal driving conditions around the Bay area, where it has always lived. ALL Power accessories work well, to include its DUAL Air Conditioning system ( front and rear AC), both Power sunroofs, all Power windows, both Power heated seats, the cruise control, and all instruments and lights. There are NO service lights on ( NO TC, CHECK ENGINE, ABS or MC lights turned off or reset). The DII has 118K original miles on its 4.6L engine. We have service records including recent maintenance and service going back to 2008; unfortunately, any prior records are no longer saved by Land Rover beyond that point ( we called to ask if it would be possible to retrieve copies). The Service engine soon light comes on and off and although it runs well, I think it is due for head-gasket repair, as it has never been done up to this point. Taking that into consideration, it has been priced accordingly. It is remarkably clean, and the photos do not do it justice~! The 2004 SE7 is the top of the line and it is the one to have. It would make a great traveler or off-road trekker with the engine work addressed. Please feel free to EM or call with questions or inquiries. We are a private seller, not some car-dealer outfit, or a shady car lot. It has always been a one-owner Land Rover DII since new, and has always been here locally. SPOTLESS CARFAX REPORT, along with documented service records and original-ownership since new. NON-SMOKER, NO pets or children in it. Always adult-owned. We will be glad to assist with NATIONWIDE or OVERSEAS delivery at the most economical shipping rate available. We can do all coordination from here, and pay the transporter cost directly to the shipper upon receipt of the Discovery. Should you be the winning bidder, we would like to receive payment within THREE business days, please. Cashiers check or Bank draft are preferred. Personal, business or annuity checks may be utilized, but must clear funds source prior to any transportation arrangements being made. Another option is a Bank wire transfer to our local CHASE Bank branch here in town. That expedites the process considerably and allows for faster shipping arrangements. Upon receipt of payment, we will overnight the title, registration card, bill of sale and all service records to the winning bidder for your protection. Thank you for your interest~! |

Land Rover to build Discovery Sport at new Brazilian factory
Fri, Oct 31 2014Looking forward to getting your mitts on a new Land Rover Discovery Sport? Well you should, because it promises to be a markedly better product than the Freelander/LR2 it replaces. Just don't assume it will necessarily be built in the UK, as just about every Land Rover has in the company's 66-year history. The new Discovery Sport (pictured above in Sao Paulo) will, of course, be built in the UK, at the Halewood plant where the Evoque is made and which has in the past handled the Freelander, the Jaguar X-Type and a variety of Fords. But it will also be assembled for local consumption at JLR's new factory in Changsu, China. And, according to the press release down below, it will also be made for the Latin American market at the new factory being built in Brazil. The new plant is being built in Itatiaia on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro and will come online in 2016. Once it gets up to speed by the end of 2020, it will have the capacity to build 24,000 vehicles each year, ratcheting its workforce up from 400 when it opens to nearly 1,000 when all's said and done. The Discovery Sport will be one of the products made there for the local market, but it surely won't be the only one. As in China, we expect the Evoque will be built there as well, and we wouldn't be surprised to see the new Jaguar XE join it in the near future, either. Don't expect the Brazilian-made vehicles to be sold in the US, though: those will likely still be imported from the UK... at least, that is, until the facility said to be under consideration for the southern United States opens its doors. JAGUAR LAND ROVER CONFIRMS ITS ALL-NEW DISCOVERY SPORT FOR BRAZIL FACILITY - Jaguar Land Rover confirms Discovery Sport as one of the models to be produced at its new local manufacturing facility in Brazil - R$750m investment in the new facility in Itatiaia in the State of Rio de Janeiro - Annual production capacity of 24,000 units for the Brazilian market only – from 2016 Sao Paulo, Brazil – Jaguar Land Rover confirmed today, at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show, that its breakthrough Land Rover Discovery Sport will be one of the first models to be built at its new R$750m (GBP240m) local manufacturing facility in Itatiaia, Brazil. The new factory, which will see a total investment of R$750m (GBP240m) by the end of 2020, will supplement UK production and have the capacity to build 24,000 vehicles annually for the Brazilian market.
Jaguar to sell all-electric cars by 2030, and six electric Land Rovers coming in next five years
Mon, Feb 15 2021Jaguar is making a big transition to become an electric-only car company. The switchover is meant to kickoff in 2025, and by 2030, Jaguar says 100% of its vehicle sales will be of electric models. Land Rover is taking a similar route, but to a lesser extent. The British off-roading brand says that it will introduce six pure electric variants in the next five years, with eyes on 60% of its sales being of electric models by 2030. Its first all-electric model will arrive in 2024, JLR said. An Automotive News report cites CEO Thierry Bollore, saying he expects "almost zero" production of cars with internal combustion engines by 2039, making that the theoretical end date of Land Rover vehicles with ICEs. JLR, owned by India's Tata Motors, said on Monday the Jaguar brand will lead the way with a fully-electric model range built on a brand-new electric platform. The Land Rover EVs are to be built on a separate electric vehicle architecture to provide for "two clear unique personalities." The Land Rover EVs are said to be finding homes on both the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) and Electric Modular Architecture (EMA). Both support combustion engine layouts and full EV layouts, but the latter is said to be more biased toward EVs and to exclusively support "advanced electrified ICE." Both brands will be taking advantage of technology from within the Tata Group (JLR's owners) to make this transition happen. There's limited information on the future of certain models for the time being, but Jaguar did say that its previously-planned XJ replacement will no longer have a place in the brand's lineup. That said, Jaguar says the nameplate might stick around, with the assumption it could be used on an all-new future EV. Additionally, Automotive News reports that Jaguar will transition away from SUV-style vehicles, citing Bollore — the theory being that Land Rover takes over and completely fills that space in the future. We'll be wondering about what will become of the F-Pace and E-Pace. Our biggest Jaguar question concerns the F-Type, though. Will we get a fully electric version of the sports car in the future? Jaguar didn't address it, but we certainly hope so. JLR said that as it electrifies its model range, it will keep all three of its British plants open. But Bollore, who took over as chief executive in September, said the carmaker's Castle Bromwich plant in central England would focus on "non-production" activities in the long term.
Jaguar Land Rover to cut workforce by 2,000 in push toward electric future
Thu, Feb 18 2021Jaguar Land Rover said on Wednesday it would cut 2,000 jobs from its global salaried workforce, just days after announcing its luxury Jaguar brand will be entirely electric by 2025 and e-models of its entire lineup will be launched by 2030. "The full review of the Jaguar Land Rover organization is already under way," the company said in an emailed statement. "We anticipate a net reduction of around 2,000 people from our global salaried workforce in the next financial year," it said. However, it added that the organizational review did not impact hourly paid, manufacturing employees. JLR, owned by India's Tata Motors, said earlier that its Land Rover brand will launch six fully electric models over the next five years, with the first in 2024. Known for its iconic, high-performance E-Type model in the 1960s and 1970s, Jaguar faces the same challenges as many other carmakers as it transitions to electric vehicles while trying to retain the feeling and power of a luxury combustion engine model. Last month, Tata Motors said it was concerned by semiconductor shortages and Brexit-related supply disruptions as its luxury car sales recover, although the Indian automaker added these had not yet hit production. Tata Motors posted three straight quarters of losses as the COVID-19 crisis dented sales, exacerbating uncertainties over Britain's exit from the European Union, weak demand and rising costs, but had bounced back to clock a profit in its third quarter to the end of December. The 2,000 reduction in JLR's non-factory jobs was reported earlier on Wednesday by Sky News.
