Land Rover Discovery Fully loaded, seats 7, and A/C is ice cold.
The Vehicle was formally a Strip/theft with a "Salvage Title", however all interior components have been replaced.

Note* The paint is fading and cracked on the hood of the vehicle, the images used did not display the fading fully.  Otherwise, the paint is in good to very-good shape.

No Reserve Auction.   Please note that I am selling this Car "As-Is" with no warranty stated or implied whatsoever.

The car is currently registered in California and has been for the past 11-yrs and has passed smog recently.  It does drive; but, it will need some work to make it right.  I bought this on eBay and drove it home, then off it went to my mechanic on a flatbed (in the photo) who has now returned the verdict below.

Here is the rundown after careful and professional diagnosis by my mechanic today:  Drive shaft bolts need tightening; keyless lock needs replacing (currently the locks work manually); The engine leaks oil (what Rover doesn’t) but, the engine is in good shape and has LOW ORIGINAL miles on it.  The left window motor works; but, it likely will need replaced soon.  It needs brake pads and rotors all the way around (the factory original rotors are out of tolerance to machine down any further); however the brakes are not grinding--all 4 need replaced to make it right.  Left tire needs a plug (we found a nail in it) and there is a leak on the right (passenger-side) shock.  Also, the front bumper cover plastic has cracked due to the previous owner stepping on it.

AutoCheck examined the reported odometer readings for this 2003 Land Rover Discovery SE (SALTY16403A786315) and no indication of an odometer rollback or tampering was found.

Accident Free!  There have been no accidents reported to Auto Check for this 2003 Land Rover Discovery SE (SALTY16403A786315).  The body of this rover is straight and lines are tight.

The seats are in good shape with no tears or rips.  This also has the 2 rear leather jump seats in great condition as well.  I am looking for less of a project at this time due to conflicting priorities.

Winning bid will pay $500 deposit for vehicle within 24-hours after auction ends with full payment within 5-days.  Buyer must make arrangements for pickup in Woodland Hills, California within 5-days of auction close.  Buyer is fully responsible for shipping/transportation cost.

GOOD LUCK!

I retain full right to remove the post from Ebay at any time as I am listing it locally as well.

GM, Audi, Jaguar halt Russian sales amidst ruble's collapse

Fri, Dec 19 2014

The value of Russia's ruble currency has sunk like a stone tossed in the Volga for much of the year, losing over 40 percent of its worth since June. The change is having bizarre effects on the auto industry there and leaving some automakers scrambling to adjust. According to Bloomberg, Russians are buying up luxury goods including automobiles at the moment to have a physical investment in case the ruble sinks further. However, with the money worth so little, the companies aren't making much from these transactions. Things are so dire that several automakers are temporarily ending deliveries until the situation stabilizes. According to Bloomberg, General Motors stopped sales on December 16 with no set date to start again. Audi did the same thing but with the intention to resume once it has adjusted model pricing. Jaguar Land Rover terminated business until December 19 to see how things changed. Toyota is increasing its pricing, as well, but keeping business open at the same time. Some automakers have subtly been reacting to the slumping Russian auto market all year. The moves have included Volkswagen cutting production by 30,000 units from its factory in Kaluga. Ford also got rid of 950 workers from two plants due to low demand. Some analysts have even speculated that the contracting industry and possibility of lower import duties into the country could cause companies to end their manufacturing in Russia completely.

10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019

Tue, Dec 24 2019

It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references.  Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.

Jaguar Land Rover CEO: Wrong Brexit deal will cost thousands of UK jobs

Tue, Sep 11 2018

BIRMINGHAM, England — The wrong Brexit deal could cost tens of thousands of jobs, the boss of Britain's biggest carmaker Jaguar Land Rover warned on Tuesday, saying he had no idea whether his plants would be able to operate after Britain leaves the European Union next year. Ralf Speth also said that the company would not be able to build cars if customs checks meant that the motorway to and from the southern English port of Dover, which is used to transport components, becomes a "car park" due to snarl-ups of people no longer able to move freely among EU countries. Speth made the warning at a conference in Birmingham, central England, speaking shortly before Prime Minister Theresa May, who is battling to have her so-called Chequers Brexit plan accepted by many in her Conservative Party as well as the EU ahead of Britain's departure from the bloc on March 29. "A thousand (jobs were) lost as a result of diesel policy, and those numbers will be counted in the tens of thousands if we do not get the right Brexit deal," warned Speth, referring to redundancies made earlier this year at the firm. "Currently I do not even know if any of our manufacturing facilities in the UK will be able to function on the 30th," he said. The boss of JLR, which built nearly a third of Britain's cars last year, also said long-standing issues around low productivity in Britain could be compounded by a Brexit agreement which made the country less competitive. "It is thousands of pounds cheaper to produce vehicles for instance in Eastern Europe than in Solihull, and what decisions will I be forced to make if Brexit means not merely that costs go up but that we cannot physically build cars on time and on budget in the UK?" he said.Reporting by Costas Pitas
