Meet Clarke, he is a 12 year old Land Rover Discovery 2 that is in need of a good home. He was born in England then decided to live in Sunny Florida for a good portion of his life before moving to the Northeast.  He was dealer serviced ifor the majority of his time on the road, and is one of the most reliable vehicles we have ever owned. We purchased Clarke in December of 2010 with just over 100K on the clock, and chose this model because it has the more reliable 4.0 liter engine. (4.6's tend to blow up their oil pumps) This truck has been truly great to us, pulling us out of deep snow, hauling seven passengers to the beach in style and comfort and has been fantastic as a second vehicle when we have needed the extra space. I am a European car nut, and I maintain my vehicles to go for 200K or more sparing no expense. As such, I know this vehicle inside and out unlike most of the used car dealers that you find on here. As far as can be told, this truck has never been in an accident or used off road.  I can attest that this vehicle runs extremely smooth, burns/leaks no oil, has good head gaskets, shifts correctly, has iced cold a/c and hot hot heat, and every feature works as it was designed. In some cases even better than when it left the factory. Unfortunately, it is time to say goodbye to our beloved Rover.  WIth the purchase of a home comes many expenses, and a second vehicle does not work into the plan at the moment.

This vehicle includes all of the standard SE-7 features including dual sunroofs, rear a/c, heated front seats, rear air suspension, rear jump seats with drop down step. We added a Kenwood BT 901 head unit in conjunction with the Phillips/Lear amps and speakers. This system integrates Bluetooth, backup camera and iPod/flash drive/Pandora capability with the steering wheel controls. It is also wired for Sirius satellite radio, but the receiver/interface is not included in the sale.I also had Bi-Xenon 6K headlamps installed along with Hella 550 fog lights.

What good is a Land Rover that hasn't been loved and taken care of?  Below is a list of the repairs that were done to this truck:

Just prior to our purchase, the used car lot had the rear air suspension bladders and compressor replaced.

12/10- 101K Purchased, Oil changed with Mobil one,Plugs, air filter (OE) , PCV system serviced, throttle body cleaned, coolant flushed with Dex-Cool, throttle body heater replaced, upper radiator hose replaced (Dealer) , expansion tank hoses replaced, ABS shuttle with switches replaced, rocker arm cover gaskets replaced.

3/11- 105k, Oil change with Mobil One, OE Filter,5 new General Grabber A/T tires mounted and balanced, front/center/rear differentials serviced with Mobil One fluids, transmission serviced, driver's side window regulator replaced with updated, stronger part, Bi-Xenon headlamp kit installed, headlamps aimed, Hella 550 Fog lamps installed.

6/11- 107k, A/C system evacuated and recharged.  Needed .5 pound of refrigerant, R/FT door lock motor replaced

8/11- 108k, Power steering pump replaced- OE

10/11- 110K, Oil change with Mobil one and OE filter, tires rotated and balanced.

12/11- 112K L/R door lock actuator replaced, Watts linkage bushings replaced, front springs, Bilstien shocks (all 4), steering damper, wheel alignment.

7/12- 115K, Oil change with Mobil one and OE filter, Front brake pads and rotors replaced with Akebono Ceramic pads, rear rotors turned and Akebono ceramic pads   installed, brake fluid flushed, ABS Hydraulic unit rebuilt with Falconworks shuttle valve seal kit and PC board wiring update performed for redundant ground, tires rotated,

12/12- 118k, Serpentine belt and tensioner replaced.

3/13- 120K- Oil change with Mobil one, OE Filter, tires rotated.

9/13- 122K- Lower intake manifold gaskets,(leaking oil) top engine decarbonized, throttle body and pcv service, ignition coil and spark plug wires replaced, thermostat replaced, cooling system serviced with fresh dex cool,r/ft headlamp washer nozzle installed, oil change with Mobil one and mobil one filter, new headliner, parking brake boot, Center diff lever boot, all wiper blades.
The bad:

The body has accumulated a number of door dings and the hood has a few "bird stains" that have burned the paint. The front bumper has some damage around where the left front fog lamp would be, and the rear bumper was damaged slightly on the right rear corner. We bought the truck this way, and I opted to go with the Hella Fog lights instead of replacing the bumper. A lot of Rover nuts cut this portion of the bumper when they lift it. The cowl has some of the usual Rover cracking as well.  The vehicle is pre-wired for a heated windshield if you decided to upgrade in the future. This is an early build vehicle with the much sought-after CDL, but I do not have the lever installed.  I manually locked the diff when the snow was really deep a couple times and this thing is unstoppable when it is locked. The kit for the CDL can be found online for around $500 if you want to install it. I was planning on doing that this fall. The bumper mounted tail lamps have the usual Rover cracking, but nothing major. Ther is some minor surface rust on the rear crossmember and radiator support, but no perforation anywhere. The leather on the steering wheel upper portion is a bit worn. The truck comes with two brand new keys that are cut but not programmed, for a total of three keys/remotes.

As of right now, the truck needs nothing.  Please remember that this is a twelve year old vehicle, but I have done my absolute best to represent it fairly and do everything in my power to make sure it is safe and reliable.

You are responsible for making shipping arrangements.  I will do my best to make be accommodate your shipping company. If you pay with any form of check, it must clear my bank account before the vehicle leaves my possession. Title is clear and in hand.  I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as it is for sale locally. This vehicle is sold as-is.  No warranty expressed or implied.  Your bid means you have read all of this and agree to it.

Happy bidding.  Its an awesome truck!

All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)

Thu, Sep 30 2021

Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.   No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?

Weekly Recap: Ford GT inspires guitar, foosball table, sailboat

Sat, Apr 18 2015

Ford design vice president Moray Callum had just wrapped up a briefing on the interior of the Ford GT last month, but something seemed out of place. He grinned and pointed behind him, "You might be wondering why I have a boat behind me," he said mischievously. It was there because Ford set its designers on a mission to stretch and showcase their talents: design non-automotive objects inspired by the interior of the GT supercar. Callum received quite a response, too. His team produced a guitar, a foosball table (yeah bro!), a racing sailboat, a Wi-Fi speaker and some furniture. As the veteran design chief explained, "It's a really great exercise both to highlight our designers' talents, but also to really see how our design philosophy can work and how you can use it and get a common response back from a worldwide design team." Guitar View 25 Photos The objects have been on display this week at the Salone del Mobile furniture and fashion design fair in Milan, Italy, where Ford has had a presence for three years. There's also a light exhibition that apparently was inspired by the GT, as well. While this might seem a little far-fetched for the automaker, Ford said exhibitions like the Salone del Mobile give its designers another way to be creative and ultimately produce striking interior style. Ford wants this to be a differentiator, as research shows consumers are placing emphasis on the layout and features inside when they're making a decision about buying a new car. It's a little light hearted – but it's also potentially big business. Other News & Notes Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for Buick General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said the Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for a large Buick, though "not yet," Automotive News reported. The underpinnings can accommodate rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and would give Buick the large flagship it lacks. The report jibes with comments Reuss made at a roundtable with Autoblog and other reporters at the New York Auto Show. When asked if Buick had space for a large car on the CT6 chassis, he replied, "Yeah, I think it does. Yeah, I think we do." Buick has revamped its lineup in recent years with attractive crossovers and small and midsize sedans, but hasn't added the proverbial flagship that's yearned for by enthusiasts. Buick surprised industry observers with the stylish Avenir concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year that raised the possibility of a halo sedan.
