This is a 2001 Land Rover Discovery with approximately 132,300 miles.(still driven a couple miles a week) It is PA inspected until July 31, 2013.
I have no use for a truck of this type as I am newly single and hunting for a sportscar...
This Discovery is a great truck if you have a need for this type of vehicle. There is no question in my mind this truck will drive through anything thrown it's way. There could be plenty of snow left this winter.
The Discovery models were known to have at least three common failures and this truck has had those three, shuttle valve switch, front driveshaft, and crankshaft position sensor all changed within the last 1200 miles.
Service while I owned this vehicle:

The pictures don't really do the truck justice as I took them on a rainy winter evening, but the truck has great looks with only a few minor annoyances as follows:
MAJOR PROBLEMS: NONE
MINOR PROBLEMS: keyfob doesn't function properly(alarm)and is beat up looking (actual key works fine and can set and disarm alarm via turning the lock)
Headliner is sagging here and there
Drivers seat is a little funky,(leather cracked on bottom and wobbles)
occasional check engine light for evap leak believed to be gas cap (didn't want to buy a land rover branded one ($40) and didn't trust aftermarket($9) It only comes on every now and again and only when the tank is low
The bottom line is that this is a great truck that has plenty of life left and I encourage anyone that is interested in buying it to come take a look.
I always run my car auctions as a true auction at no reserve, the highest price bidder will get this vehicle. I also always run my auctions "as is, where is".
If you are uncomfortable with buying a vehicle "as is, where is", skip this auction or by all means come and look at it and give it a test drive. I will be available for some portion of hours every day of this auction. I encourage anyone able to come see the truck in person.
This auction is being ran at NO RESERVE, High bidder will get the vehicle. I anticipate this vehicle to hit in the range of $3000-$4000
The truck is great, I see no reason why this car can't be driven cross-country (if you can afford the gas)
Any questions, feel free to ask.
Look at the awesome autocheck score and my impeccable feedback and bid with confidence.

Jaguar Land Rover gives Lyft $25M and a fleet of cars
Mon, Jun 12 2017Lyft recently raised $600 million in a massive funding round, and now we know that $25 million of that came from Jaguar Land Rover, via its mobility services subsidiary InMotion. The car maker's investment in Lyft goes beyond just funds, however; it's providing Lyft drivers with a fleet of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles as part of the tie-up, and it's also going to work with the ride-hailing tech company on autonomous vehicle testing. This is yet another high-profile partner for Lyft after a spate of recent new collaborators, including Waymo and, just last week, Nutonomy. Now, Jaguar Land Rover is also joining the company's Open Platform for autonomous cars: The collaboration with InMotion will see the Jaguar Land Rover-owned company "develop and test its mobility services, including autonomous vehicles" using Lyft's platform. Lyft's ability to rapidly bring on a lot of partners in the car maker space, specifically around autonomy, may have a lot to do with rival Uber's ongoing problems, which now also include mounting calls for CEO Travis Kalanick to step back, at least temporarily, from his leadership role. Lyft has also been pretty clear about seeking to partner on autonomy, rather than pursue its own tech, which is likewise different from Uber's current approach. Uber, too, has brought automakers to the table around self-driving services and making use of its ride hailing platform for mobility service offerings. Both Uber and Lyft seem interested in being the layer that connects riders and these future services, and for automakers, it means leaving a complex and challenging part of the picture to partners with experience and expertise, rather than having to spin up that part of the tech business themselves. The fleet provision in the deal is also interesting, and suggests the partnership between the two could involve more strategic cooperative service offerings ahead of the advent of commercial self-driving tech. Lyft gaining more ground among automakers beyond longtime partner GM also explains why it was reported that the ride hailing company turned down overtures regarding a potential acquisition by the Detroit-based automaker.Written by Darrell Etherington for TechCrunch.Related Video:
Recharge Wrap-up: Jaguar Land Rover talks EVs, Batteries should be modular
Wed, Sep 3 2014A new study out of Germany suggests adopting a modular approach to battery offerings in plug-in hybrid and extended range electric vehicles. Automakers could offer the same car with different battery sizes (and different costs, accordingly) to drivers depending on their driving ranges. This would optimize the total cost of ownership for various drivers better than the current approach. Developing a modular battery design and offering appropriate batteries for different customers "is the key for electric powertrains to meet customer expectations and become cost competitive against conventional technologies," according to the report from the Institute of Vehicle Concepts, German Aerospace Center. Learn more at Green Car Congress. Jaguar and Land Rover are looking to offer more electric driving from their vehicles. Wolfgang Ziebart, head of product development for Jaguar Land Rover, said in an interview that its hybrid system is being tweaked for more electric power and "downsized" combustion. He also said the likely target market for EVs would be second and third vehicles, rather than primary vehicles for urban driving. Within that market, Europeans look for something smaller, while American drivers lean toward larger luxury vehicles for their second car. Ziebart uses the Tesla Model S as an example of American tastes, and compares its size to that of the Jaguar XJ. Read more at Automotive News Europe. Thailand will likely approve a Volkswagen factory as early as next week. A German newspaper suggests that Thailand's Board of Investment is set to greenlight the plant, which is planned for a site near the Port of Bangkok. Thailand is a relatively large and growing auto manufacturing country, which seeks to be a major producer of eco-friendly vehicles. The country's "Eco2" program would provide incentives to Volkswagen if it builds clean cars and meets certain production targets. Read more at Reuters. Formula E has chosen Sky Deutschland for broadcasting rights in the German market. The deal includes television rights, as well as online broadcasting. Sky Deutschland has 3.8 million subscribers in Germany and Austria. Showing the races on Germany's largest pay television provider should help generate interest for the series, particularly the Berlin ePrix - the inaugural season's penultimate race - scheduled for May 30, 2015. Jaguar XE to be built in China
Mon, Dec 29 2014After a six-year absence, the Jaguar XE will return that most English of automotive companies to the compact premium segment, the brand's first whole-hearted launch into that market. For certain Western markets it begins production at the Land Rover plant in Solihull early next year, but it will also continue the brand's venture in to China having been chosen as the first Jaguar to be built there, according to a report in Automotive News. Jaguar-Land Rover owns a plant in Changshu, a joint venture with Chery Automobile, that started building the Range Rover Evoque this year and will add the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Previously, The Leaping Cat was selling cars built from kits at its factory in Pune, India. The brand figures to sell 20,000 cars in China next year, which would be less than a fifth of in-country sales for the JLR group, but the XE is the "spearhead vehicle" that "could make significant inroads" there, according to Jaguar. For comparison, Audi moved 120,450 A4s alone and BMW sold more than 100,000 3 Series models in China in 2013. Globally, Jaguar is predicted to sell 80,000 units this year. By 2017, after the release of the XE, new XF and coming crossover, plus factory expansions in China, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, it hopes to get that number up to 200,000 units; Forbes has a piece detailing why they think it's possible. The JLR group is shooting for a target of 850,000 units worldwide by 2020.
