Hi everyone! I'm sad to see her go, but I need to get rid of my tough rust free 1999 Land Rover Discovery SD. This truck is ready for the trails or ready to just live a great life on the road. This truck was meant to be my camp truck but has not seen any off road antics since I haven't had any time unfortunately! I took one today though of little nudge up some little "boulders" as a reminder to this truck's roots
Engine: Brand NEW -Head gaskets, valve job and rebuilt heads and upper engine assembly gaskets -Plugs and wires -Interstate Battery -Rodded radiator Drivetrain and Suspension: Brand NEW -Transmission, front and rear diff fluid services -Old Man Emu Heavy Duty 3" lift suspension -Serviced swivel balls NEW -Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 265/75/16 (have about 5,000 miles on them) -OEM Brake pads (have about 5,000 miles on them) Interior: -No tears or gashes in the leather seats and nice and leathery - not stiff! -7 seater with jump seats in great shape! -D2 style cup holders which work with tall drinks! -Kenwood CD/Bluetooth/Aux Radio - sounds great! Other: -Custom roof rack which uses the front OEM roof mounts. -Dealer installed front sunroof only! Anyone who knows these trucks knows the OEM sunroofs were leaky and rattly - the dealer install roof was a much better roof! -Clean title. For those in CA: registration good until 9/14, I believe its only $15 to transfer now! This truck is serviced, reliable and ready to go! No Check Engine lights! Runs like a champ - the power is ALL there and shifts great. Low range and diff locks work great. There are some small scratches and very minor cosmetic flaws, nothing unexpected for a 14 year truck though. This is the truck you have been waiting for! Any questions, please let me know!! |

Jaguar Land Rover exploring 3D HUD and infotainment projections
Wed, Aug 21 2019With its most recent technology research, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is exploring the use of 3D projections for a world before and/or after autonomous vehicles come to fruition. In collaboration with the United Kingdom's University of Cambridge, JLR has developed concepts for a 3D head-up display that shows information on the road ahead and a system that projects personalized 3D infotainment for vehicle passengers. As of right now, hundreds of production vehicles are equipped with two-dimensional head-up displays, some color, others black and white. Using various techniques and different technologies, manufacturers display information in a flat image in front of a driver. Some might find it distracting or unhelpful to have this in the driver's line of sight, and JLR might have found a solution. Rather than wedge the information in between the person and the view ahead, a 3D system that uses augmented reality could display the info onto the road in front of the driver. JLR thinks the system could project navigation directions, safety alerts such as lane departure, hazard detection or other bits typically found in a car's infotainment or instrument cluster. Some might find this to be even more distracting that 2D head-up displays, but to each his or her own. While the 3D head-up display is something that could be used right now, if it were released and passed legal, part two of JLR's 3D technology research is imagined for a life where truly autonomous vehicles are skating across the country. Using head- and eye-tracking technology, the system could lock into the position of numerous people in a vehicle and give each of them a personalized 3D projection "screen." This could be used to track a trip, look up points of interest, or even watch movies. JLR points out this could be used during ride-sharing without bothering others in the vehicle. The work with the Center for Advanced Photonics and Electronics at Cambridge is still in development for now, but it's only a matter of time before 3D tech makes it into cars in some degree.
Kahn and Evanta team up for hot-rod Defender, custom Barchetta
Thu, Jul 10 2014If you're familiar with the work of Afzal Kahn, it's probably for his tuned Range Rovers. And if you live in London, you may have seen his Bugatti Veyron with the F1 license plate. But the British tuner and self-styled "automotive fashion designer" is now embarking on a far more ambitious project. Kahn is teaming up with Ant Anstead of Evanta fame – responsible for rebodying Aston Martin DB7s to look like DB4 GTs and that full-scale DBR1/2 model kit – on a new outfit called Ant-Kahn. Far more than a tuning endeavor, Ant-Kahm is setting about creating truly unique (and uniquely British) automobiles. Their first project is called the Flying Huntsman, a long-nose Land Rover Defender that we imagine will emerge as something like a British take on the 1998 Jeepster concept crossed with something Icon might concoct. It'll pack a 6.2-liter GM LS3 V8 producing 550 horsepower, mated to a push-button six-speed automatic transmission, mounted close to the bulkhead with over 15 inches of extra bodywork and set to be unveiled within the coming months. Their second collaboration is set to yield the Evanta Barchetta previewed by rendering above. "Inspired by the design language of 1950s motorsport," the Barchetta pays homage to classic British and Italian roadsters. It's being built around a tubular frame with handcrafted composite Kevlar bodywork and powered by that same LS3 tuned to 450 hp but in a much lighter form than the Flying Hunstman. Only 20 examples will be made after its debut at the Goodwood Revival come September. An Aston Martin project codenamed WB12 is also in the works, painting a picture of an ambitious startup backed by two experienced operators whose projects we're looking forward to seeing come to fruition. Ant-Kahn – The birth of a groundbreaking collaboration between two leading figures in the UK automotive industry. Ant-Kahn is a collaborative partnership between Afzal Kahn - innovative automotive fashion designer and founder of the Kahn group of companies, and Ant Anstead, founder of expert vehicle manufacturer Evanta, and star of Channel 4's "For The Love of Cars". Working together under the Ant-Kahn banner, they will lead a resurgence in British specialist vehicle manufacture, with a number of projects already underway. Their focus is on luxury and quality, using modern prototyping and manufacturing technology, while maintaining the attention to details associated with traditional coach building.
