This is a nice, well equipped, example of a rare NAS 5-speed station wagon.   Only 500 were ever made, and each one is numbered. They are just as rare as the much coveted 1993 NAS 110.  This Defender looks, runs and drives very well and is one of the quicker ones I have ever driven.  The R380 Transmission shifts very nice.  It is a blast to drive.

I have spent over six thousand dollars on it  within the last one thousand miles. Most of this was servicing to make it ready to go anywhere. This is normal for a Defender of this age to be due for a substantial amount of  work.  Most of the other Defenders you see for sale will be needing this type of attention. , even if they look real pretty.   It has new oil cooler lines, starter, filters. fluids, etc.  I will provide the bills to the new owner.

This Defender has some very nice and very desirable upgraded equipment.  This includes a  Safety Devices full Roof Rack with ladders, , Safari Gard Front Bumper, Superwinch,  Safari Gard Rear Bumperettes, Old Man Emu Shocks and Springs,  rock sliders , and  skid plates. The roof rack and bumpers can be removed  if the buyer would rather not have them. A credit for this equipment would be forthcoming.

This is a great, solid , driver, but is not a garage queen.  The frame, bulkhead and floors are nice. It has spent much of its life in Florida. It then travelled with its previous owner to Rhode Island when he relocated.  The vehicle is 17 years old and does show some wear ,tear , and age. . There is a dent in the driver's door and a scrape on the driver's rear quarter panel for example.  Please call for an honest description.

The vehicle is located in Norwell, Ma. and can be seen by appointment.  Professional transportation can be arranged at reasonable rates.  Land Rovers have been my passion for the past 15 years and I have been quietly refurbishing , restoring , and selling them to Defender lovers all over the country ever since.  My cell is 954-816-8885.

Land Rover will put a Covid-nuking air filtration system in future cars

Tue, Mar 16 2021

Jaguar - Land Rover (JLR) is developing an air filtration system that inhibits up to 97% of viruses and airborne bacteria. Designed like a face mask for your car's HVAC system, it's built on Panasonic's Nanoe X technology. Most of the company's models (including the Land Rover Defender) currently come equipped with Panasonic's Nanoe technology and PM2.5 filtration. Nanoe X is 10 times more effective, according to the brand, because it relies on a high voltage to create trillions of hydroxyl (OH) radicals enveloped in nano-sized water molecules. Think of them as Roman guards in front of a fortress: they keep the bad out, and ensure only the good can come in. Viruses and bacteria proteins are denatured when they come into contact with the filtration system, meaning they can't reproduce or grow. The OH radicals also zap common allergens and mold, but they're harmless to humans. JLR stressed it's not relying on computer simulations to decide whether its filtration system works as designed. It asked British laboratory Perfectus Biomed to perform a test that simulates a ventilation system in recirculation mode for a 30-minute cycle in a sealed chamber. The results were encouraging: 97% of viruses and airborne bacteria were nuked. The carmaker pointed out Panasonic's Nanoe X technology has been independently proven to inhibit 99.995% of coronaviruses during a two-hour laboratory test carried out by French immunology lab Texcell. Future models from Jaguar and Land Rover will use this technology, though a representative for both companies declined to tell us when it will reach production, and which nameplate(s) will inaugurate it. Meanwhile, Honda launched its own coronavirus killer across the pond. It's a cabin air filter sold as a genuine replacement part that consists of four layers, including one coated with an active substance of fruit extract that inactivates nearly 100% of the viral aerosols it captures. It's available in Europe through Honda dealers, but it won't be sold in America. Jaguar Land Rover

Jaguar Land Rover UK factories could shut down in two weeks due to coronavirus

Tue, Feb 18 2020

COVENTRY, England — Jaguar Land Rover has enough parts from China to maintain its British production for the next two weeks but not beyond that at the moment, Chief Executive Ralf Speth said on Tuesday. Britain's biggest carmaker, which operate three car factories in its home market, joined major global companies such as Apple in warning of the impact of the virus on supply chains. The rapidly spreading virus has killed nearly 1,900 in China and stricken some 72,000 people, confining millions to their homes, disrupting supply chains and delaying reopening of factories after the extended Lunar New Year holiday break. "We are safe for this week and we are safe for next week and in the third week we have... parts missing," said Speth when asking about the potential impact on British production. He said the firm's Chinese factory would open next week and was "safe for the very first week." Sales were not currently happening in China and it was unclear when they would return, he added. The boss of Tata Motors, JLR's parent company, speaking at the same event, said the company does not have sufficient visibility regarding parts suppliers from China. "We are safe for the month of February and for a good part of March," said Guenter Butschek. "Are we fully covered at this point of time for the full month of March? Unfortunately...not." Jaguar Land Rover to badge vehicles based on horsepower

Wed, Sep 27 2017

Add Jaguar and Land Rover to the list of automakers changing their nomenclature due to the realities of engine downsizing. Spy photos of an unreleased Jaguar F-Type model show a badge reading P380 AWD. The letter P evidently refers to Petrol (British for gasoline), and 380 is the engine's horsepower. According to Auto Express, the entry-level F-Type will be badged P300, indicating the power output of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Land Rover is expected to follow suit with the new badging nomenclature. Diesel models will get a D instead of a P, while electric and hybrid models will get an E badge, along with a number corresponding to total system power. So, expect the I-Pace to sport an E400 badge on its hind end. One question we have, though, is how the disparity between mechanical, metric and imperial horsepower will be dealt with. While such power-specific badges are arguably unnecessary, we expect the trend to proliferate as engines continue to get smaller but turbocharging and electrification keep horsepower climbing. At least JLR's badges are easier to understand than the messy way Audi plans to rename its models or the way BMW completely dismisses actual engine size in its naming convention.
