1994 Defender 90 Soft top.

We are excited to have this great looking Defender back, finished in Portofino Red with Grey interior and fully kitted out with Summer Brothers Axles, ARB Air Lockers to the front and rear Differentials, Heavy Duty Brush Bar, Winch with remote control, full Rack, Old Man Emu Suspension with lift, Auxiliary Lights, Safari Guard spare tire carrier, skid plates, and steel wheels fitted with a very healthy set of BFG Mud Terrain Tires. The Defender has a new Top quality Badger Coachworks Soft Top with roll up windows. A/C is factory fitted and is ice cold. Along with a rear bench seat with over the shoulder Seat Belts, and full roll cage. We sold this Defender to its current owner some 2 years ago. At that time we spent $10,000.00 preparing it for sale making it agood solid Defender.

We have just finished going through the 90 both mechanically and bodywork wise. The 90 has just had the Tie Rod ends replaced, new front Brake Pads and Rotors along with replacement of the Pitman Arm, The Oil Pan has been resealed. The Defender hasa complete set of Neoprene bushings used throughout the suspension making for a tight and precise ride.  The interior has been enhanced and upgradeded with sound deadening, a new factory rear tub rubber mat, along with a one piece Land Rover front Gearbox Tunnel with foot well coverings to the front. The Front seats have new seat foam and new factory seat trims giving fresh new look and feel. The Hinges have been replaced with the later style Land Rover rust resistant hinges along with a comprehensive Stainless Steel Bolt Kit. This Defender drives exceptionally well and we are excited to have her back.

This 90 drives beautifully and has a tight and responsive ride. The vehicle is presented with no excuses and inspections are welcomed. This is not the normal knocked around Defender; it is rust free and is in great condition.

Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.

Is It An Off-Road Adventure Or Just A Walk In The Park?
I remember having to get out and lock hubs and shift into neutral to engage low range.
Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.

Queen Elizabeth II was a longtime automotive enthusiast

Sun, Sep 11 2022

Since driver's licenses, license plates, and passports were issued in her own name, Queen Elizabeth II didn't need them to drive and travel. She started combining the two just before she turned 19, joining the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) transport division in 1945 for vehicle mechanic training. She wanted to help the British effort during World War II and would drive an ambulance — one that, theoretically, she could also fix if it broke down. The war ended before she graduated as an Honorary Junior Commander, the other ATS members dubbing her Princess Auto Mechanic. We donÂ’t know if she got under the hoods of the many official state vehicles and the far more numerous unofficial fleet in the royal garages, but she was still driving herself around England as late as this year. Here is a tiny selection of royal conveyances used during her 70-year reign. Gold State Coach (1762) True, she never drove this one, but a tour of every royal garage should start with the coach. King George III commissioned Samuel Butler to build it in 1760. Butler spent two years on the gilded carriage 24 feet long and more than 12 feet high. The quarters are suspended from the frame by leather straps, so occupants get tossed about even during a slow stroll, which is as fast as the eight Windsor Gray horses can pull it. It wasnÂ’t until the 1900s that King George VI rubberized the wooden wheels. Word is the queen didnÂ’t like it.   1953 Land Rover Series 1 Land Rover gave Queen ElizabethÂ’s father, King George VI, the 100th example of the 80 Series off the line in 1948. She picked up the Landie habit for herself five years later, when a 1953 Series 1 with a custom 86-inch wheelbase was part of the fleet used for her six-month tour of the Commonwealth in 1953 and 1954. That Land Rover became Ceremonial Vehicle State IV. The models above were built in Australia in 1958 as near copies of the Commonwealth tour vehicle, when Australia decided it wanted six identical versions for royal service. ItÂ’s thought the royal family went through around 30 Land Rover Series cars and Defenders since then, and many of the most common photos of her have her posing in or near one, especially the 2002 Defender built just for her. The royal family isnÂ’t finished with them, either: A current Defender 110 served as a luggage hauler for family members headed to Balmoral Castle during the queenÂ’s final days.
