1986 Land Rover Defender 90, Ex Mod With Turret on 2040-cars
Bryan, Texas, United States
1986 Land Rover Defender 90, Ex Mod, 2.5 SALLDVAC7AA311719 78627 km I am proud to place up for sale a very
rare and unique ex mod land rover defender 90. Only a handful of these were
produced with a turret hatch. I believe this is the only one in the states. I
could be wrong. But when was the last time you saw a landy 90 with a turret
hatch bombing it down the highway? I have been driving it around where I live
(bryan, texas) and it drives real nice. Smooth diesel 2.5 and the lt77 gearbox
shifts very well. Everything works as it should. For a 25 year old defender this has to be one of the best frames that I
have seen in a long time. No splitting of metal and everything looks solid. I
also like the fact its fully original and nothing has been coated to hide any
imperfections and problems. I think you know what I mean? When sellers spray
500 layers of undercoating to hide any problem areas. Slight scrape to the
passenger side door skin. If push comes to shove I can replace the door. All
doors do look great inside. No bad rusting. I was thinking of repainting the
Rover but I think it looks great as it does. Just released from the middle
east. This is pretty much as I received it from the MOD. A very nice, sold and
super rare defender. It is RHD from factory. My daily driver here in TX is a
RHD 90 and its never really bothered me, however you can convert over to a LHD.
Each to their own. Also if you really hate the turret just remove it and convert to a soft top. Exmoor trim have some great conversion kits. This Rover comes with a new clean and clear texas vehicle title. *PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 1986 DEFENDER NOT A 1980. EBAY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS VIN AS IT IS AN IMPORTED VEHICLE

Here's today's round of auto plant closures in response to coronavirus
Fri, Mar 20 2020More automakers have shuttered factories, as businesses everywhere work to slow the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus — and as the pandemic slows sales and disrupts parts supply chains. On Friday, the following closures were announced: • Volvo will close its factories in Sweden and the United States from March 26 to April 14. Volvo's U.S. facility, in Charleston, South Carolina, makes the S60 sedan. Its assembly plant in Torslanda, Sweden, turns out the XC90, SC60, and V90. Other Swedish facilities make engines and component parts. A Volvo factory in Ghent, Belgium, that builds the XC40 and V60 closed earlier this week and is expected to remain offline until April 6. Volvo's four factories in China have been reopened after a shutdown earlier this year. • Jaguar Land Rover announced that it will suspend production at its assembly plants in the UK over the coming week. The shutdown is expected to last until April 20. Elsewhere, production continues at the company's factories in India and Brazil, and JLR's joint-venture plant in China reopened at the end of February. • Bentley is closing its factory in Crewe, England, for four weeks, effective today. • Bugatti has put its atelier in Molsheim, France, on hiatus. No date was given for when assembly of its supercars might resume. • Mercedes-Benz on Monday will shut down its SUV factory in Alabama and its van assembly plant in South Carolina. Both will remain closed for a minimum of two weeks. Tesla yesterday revealed that it will suspend operations at its Fremont, California, vehicle assembly plant next week, on order from local officials there. Yesterday's factory closure announcements also included the U.S. assembly plants for Toyota (until April 6), Volkswagen (through March 29), Subaru (through March 29), and Hyundai (no time period specified). They join GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Nissan, and Harley-Davidson, which earlier this week announced the suspension of production at their facilities. Kahn and Evanta team up for hot-rod Defender, custom Barchetta
Thu, Jul 10 2014If you're familiar with the work of Afzal Kahn, it's probably for his tuned Range Rovers. And if you live in London, you may have seen his Bugatti Veyron with the F1 license plate. But the British tuner and self-styled "automotive fashion designer" is now embarking on a far more ambitious project. Kahn is teaming up with Ant Anstead of Evanta fame – responsible for rebodying Aston Martin DB7s to look like DB4 GTs and that full-scale DBR1/2 model kit – on a new outfit called Ant-Kahn. Far more than a tuning endeavor, Ant-Kahm is setting about creating truly unique (and uniquely British) automobiles. Their first project is called the Flying Huntsman, a long-nose Land Rover Defender that we imagine will emerge as something like a British take on the 1998 Jeepster concept crossed with something Icon might concoct. It'll pack a 6.2-liter GM LS3 V8 producing 550 horsepower, mated to a push-button six-speed automatic transmission, mounted close to the bulkhead with over 15 inches of extra bodywork and set to be unveiled within the coming months. Their second collaboration is set to yield the Evanta Barchetta previewed by rendering above. "Inspired by the design language of 1950s motorsport," the Barchetta pays homage to classic British and Italian roadsters. It's being built around a tubular frame with handcrafted composite Kevlar bodywork and powered by that same LS3 tuned to 450 hp but in a much lighter form than the Flying Hunstman. Only 20 examples will be made after its debut at the Goodwood Revival come September. An Aston Martin project codenamed WB12 is also in the works, painting a picture of an ambitious startup backed by two experienced operators whose projects we're looking forward to seeing come to fruition. Ant-Kahn – The birth of a groundbreaking collaboration between two leading figures in the UK automotive industry. Ant-Kahn is a collaborative partnership between Afzal Kahn - innovative automotive fashion designer and founder of the Kahn group of companies, and Ant Anstead, founder of expert vehicle manufacturer Evanta, and star of Channel 4's "For The Love of Cars". Working together under the Ant-Kahn banner, they will lead a resurgence in British specialist vehicle manufacture, with a number of projects already underway. Their focus is on luxury and quality, using modern prototyping and manufacturing technology, while maintaining the attention to details associated with traditional coach building.
