Lamborghini teases engine sound, but of Sesto Elemento or Cabrera?

Lamborghini has launched a website for something it calls the Hexagon Project. The mysterious page asks that you submit your email address, and then it gives you a taste of glorious V10 engine noise, with the message: "Listen to your instinct. Discover the roar of a new creature from Lamborghini. That will be just the beginning."
But where is that wonderful noise going to come from? Since we don't see Lambo launching a front-engined, front-drive minivan in the near future, we're guessing it'll be found in the back of some low-slung, edgy super car.
In our minds, that leaves two candidates. The popular opinion, perpetuated by our friends at Jalopnik, is that this is the engine for Lambo's Gallardo replacement, rumored to be called the Cabrera. This is a sound guess, although the naming of the site, Hexagon Project, makes us think that there's more to it all than just the Cabrera's new engine.

Lamborghini Huracan does quarter mile in just 8.6 seconds

If you're the wild and crazy sort that feels the need to up the output of an Italian exotic, more power to you. And one of the best ways to get that power is through turbocharging. Lots and lots of turbocharging. Just like Heffner Performance has done with this monstrous Huracan. By strapping a pair of turbochargers to the Lamborghini's V10 engine, Heffner's modded car is good for 1,200 horsepower at the wheels. If you don't feel like doing the math on what that is at the crank, just rest easy in knowing that it's a whole helluva lot. While you probably won't want to try and put that power down on a road course, it's absolutely appropriate on a drag-prepped surface. Combined with the super-sticky strip and some equally grippy tires, Heffner has turned in some impressive, sub-ten-second times. But its most impressive run is this – an 8.631-second run through the quarter, where the green Huracan hit 173 miles per hour. According to the results slip, it snapped to 60 in just 1.9 seconds, while Heffner claims it hit 100 in 3.7 seconds. So yeah, this is a very, very fast Lamborghini. This fresh Lambo Diablo SV could be yours for $500k

This Diablo isn't just any Diablo: it's a Diablo SV – shorthand for Super Veloce, or really fast. It was the last model that Sant'Agata offered with a V12, a manual, and rear-wheel drive. Despite being 17 years old now, it has just a single mile on the odometer. It features a titanium exterior paint and a black interior, and could hardly appeal to our childhood sense of wonder any more if it had rocket launchers popping out of the fenders. It's offered for sale by the Lamborghini dealership in Montreal – one of North America's great racing capitals, where supercars are thick on the ground in the summer. It can be yours for $499,900. Now if you're thinking that much money could get you into a new Aventador SV, you would be correct. But though the latest version may be empirically better in just about any way you could measure – including a 223-horsepower advantage – it lacks the Diablo's old-school appeal.
