Must Sell! Just lowered the price again. Let's talk! Oil service just completed(4/2013) at Lamborghini Boston. She's ready for summer!

2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

Up for sale is my personally owned Lamborghini Murcielago LP640!  Was a dream to own one of these cars since I was a little boy, and I finally got one! To say the least, the car is everything that I could ever imagine, and  more. Beautiful lines, race-car like steering, and unbelievable power!  Truly a dream come true. However, work calls, and now after a very short time of ownership, I have to sell her. After spending years of researching these vehicles, and about a year and a half of ownership(and 2000 miles behind the wheel), I have to sell her off.  I am the second owner of the car, previously owned by an older professional gentleman in California who purchased the car from O'gara Coach Works new in 2008(dealer information regarding the car is available, however, you must contact me first). Just prior to making this purchase of a lifetime in August of 2011, the car went through the Lamborghini Certified Pre-Owned extensive inspection and the warranty was extended for another two years!(a huge purchasing point for me, and now a huge selling point as well. This is nearly a $10k investment and can give you peace of mind that Lamborghini will stand behind their workmanship for another two years; ending this summer though.)  This is something that "must" be considered in price comparison with other vehicles, seeing most other cars of this vintage do not have a warranty.

Other details about the car are pretty straight forward. The exterior color is Grigio Telesto, the interior is black with yellow stitching. The floor mats are nice custom $1200 units that can easily be removed. Radio is stock and includes all the features you can imagine; however, I never listen to the radio seeing the sound of the engine is a bit more appealing to me. Engine and drive-train maintenance was just performed 2000 miles ago, and the oil and filter were changed last week, so you have plenty of time before it needs to make a visit to the shop. Tires have a lot of life left and rims are all in perfect condition.  Bottom line is the car is simply awesome! Still has the new car smell, and is flawless!  I personally appreciate craftsmanship, and this car more than impresses me! And if you want looks, you get more looks from passer-by's than you can imagine.  Please feel free to contact me via email and if you would like to discuss the details of the car over the phone I will openly share my phone number, just please a serious potential buyer.

Thank you,
Chris

We visit the Lamborghini Museum at company HQ in Sant'Agata

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Last week, Lamborghini invited us to stop by its Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters to have a look around the factory and pick up a few technical tidbits about its new Huracán LP 610-4. It won't surprise you to learn this, but Lambo's foyer is pretty rad.
Rather than front its offices and factory with a gift shop and a reception desk, Lamborghini puts its amazing heritage on full display by offering up the corporate museum as a first impression to visitors. We had coffee in the morning and lunch after the press conference in this space, with stunning Italian concept cars and production models serving as an impressive backdrop to it all. Not wanting to miss the opportunity to share the Lamborghini collection with exotic-car crazed Autoblog readers (you know who you are), we did our best to capture everything we saw in the gallery here.
With some variation, the museum's two floors are separated by vintage: older models downstairs and newer up. When you walk through the front door, you're flanked by two of the coolest Lamborghinis in the marque's impressive history: a 350 GT to the left and a perfectly green Countach LP 400 on the right. Perhaps our favorite car in the whole joint, the Countach's Bertone body is still almost impossible to believe. Up close, we're reminded how design-driven this car is; the seats are so far inboard from the scissor doors that it's difficult to imagine that engineers ever agreed that the shape was a feasible one for production or actual driving.

Harry Metcalfe shows off his Lamborghini Countach

Sat, Jan 17 2015

Harry Metcalfe may no longer be editing the Evo magazine he founded, but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have octane pumping through his veins – or that he isn't still producing world-class automotive content. In this latest video released on his YouTube channel Harry's Garage, Metcalfe shows off is 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole. The precursor of today's Aventador, the Countach was Sant'Agata's longest-serving mid-engined twelve-cylinder supercar, remaining in production from 1974 (after the Miura was discontinued) until 1990 (when the Diablo replaced it), and earned its place of prominence on the walls of so many childhood bedrooms. Metcalfe's was a later model from 1987 – the London Motor Show car from that year, in fact – packing the enlarged 5.2-liter V12 with the four-valve heads, those fantastical air vents and that giant rear wing. Harry even had the legendary Valentino Balboni to sign the interior. The video is a full half-hour long, but even if you've only got a few minutes, it's worth watching just the beginning to hear it starting up.

Coronavirus prompts VW to stop production throughout Europe

Tue, Mar 17 2020

FRANKFURT — Volkswagen Group, the world's biggest carmaker, is suspending production at factories across Europe as the coronavirus pandemic hits sales and disrupts supply chains, the company said on Tuesday. The German carmaker, which owns the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Ducati, Lamborghini, Porsche, Seat and Skoda brands, also said that uncertainty about the fallout from coronavirus meant it was impossible to give forecasts for its performance this year. "Given the present significant deterioration in the sales situation and the heightened uncertainty regarding parts supplies to our plants, production is to be suspended in the near future at factories operated by group brands," Chief Executive Herbert Diess said on Tuesday. Volkswagen's powerful works council concluded it was not possible for workers to maintain a safe distance from each other to prevent contagion and recommended a suspension of production at its factories from Friday. Production will be halted at VW's Spanish plants, in Setubal in Portugal, Bratislava in Slovakia and at the Lamborghini and Ducati plants in Italy before the end of this week, Diess said. Most of its other German and European factories will prepare to suspend production, probably for two to three weeks, while Audi said separately it would halt output at its plants in Belgium, Germany, Hungary and Mexico. Volkswagen's vast factories in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in Puebla, Mexico, and plants in Brazil were not affected, but that would depend on how the coronavirus spreads, VW said. Volkswagen has 124 production sites worldwide of which 72 are in Europe, with 28 in Germany alone. "2020 will be a very difficult year. The coronavirus pandemic presents us with unknown operational and financial challenges. At the same time, there are concerns about sustained economic impacts," Diess said.   Production in China resumes Volkswagen Group sold 10.96 million vehicles last year, putting it ahead of Toyota based on the latest figures from the Japanese carmaker. Globally, VW employs 671,000 people and it delivered 4.86 million vehicles to European customers in 2019. Only last month the car and truck maker based in Wolfsburg, Germany, predicted that vehicle deliveries this year would match 2019 sales and forecast an operating return on sales in the range of 6.5% to 7.5%. "The spread of coronavirus is currently impacting the global economy. It is uncertain how severely or for how long this will also affect the Volkswagen Group.
