Lamborghini Huracan gets incremental upgrades for 2016

Lamborghini is rolling out a series of upgrades for the Huracan. And minor as most of them may be, they'll likely only further the desire among enthusiasts to get behind the wheel. Chief among the enhancements is a new cylinder deactivation system system that drops from ten cylinders to five under light loads. Lamborghini refers to it as the first such system to be implemented on a naturally aspirated V10, though it should be noted that is corporate cousin – the Audi R8 – incorporates a similar setup. Apart from selectively shutting down one of its cylinder banks, the 2016 Huracan benefits from a retuned all-wheel-drive system that promises "a neutral and even more improved driving behavior." The rest principally comes down to trim, including matt-black air vents and more leather inside, along with available cruise control and other convenience features. There's a new ten-speaker Sensonum audio system available, along with the global rollout of the optional sports exhaust, and an extension of the Ad Personal personalization catalog. Finally, buyers will also be able to show off even more than before with new carbon-fiber engine bay trim, a transparent cover, and even LED lighting. Although the options stand to inflate the price significantly, the base price with all of the standard upgrades remains the same. They're being applied to both the coupe and the recently revealed Spyder for the new model year. The Raging Bull marque is also tipped to be preparing a new rear-drive version that's expected to be unveiled later this month in Los Angeles. The new contents focus on efficiency, drivability and luxury and are already available with the 2016 model year. The price of the Huracan LP 610-4 remains unchanged at 169.500 Euros + tax. As standard, both the Huracan coupe and newly-launched Spyder version include cylinder deactivation to improve engine efficiency; the first time this function is included in a naturally aspirated V10 engine. When full engine capacity is not required, five of the ten cylinders are temporarily deactivated by switching off one cylinder bank.

Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera spotted on 'Ring

Ever since Lamborghini introduced the Huracan to replace the Gallardo in 2014, we've been waiting for the Superleggera version to follow. This seems to be it. Spied testing at the Nurburgring is what appears to be a more hardcore version of Bologna's ten-cylinder supercar. It may be hard to tell from looking at it, because while the finished product will undoubtedly wear more aggressive aerodynamic appendages and fresh rolling stock, this prototype looks the same as the version we already know – with one exception. Around back, there's a big black box that looks as though it were lifted straight off a fighter jet. Now Lamborghini's been known to take its cues from military aircraft, but what we're seeing here is likely a disguise for the new exhaust system, mounted higher up the rear bumper. Our paparazzi on the ground in the Eifel Mountains tell us this prototype sounds meaner than your run-of-the-mill Huracan, which bodes well. The standard version packs a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 good for 602 horsepower. The Super Trofeo racing version offers up 611, and we'd expect the Huracan Superleggera to pack at least that much, given the ten-horse gap between the preceding Gallardo and its Superleggera variants. Expect it also to come stripped out to help further optimize the power-to-weight ratio, but it will likely keep the all-wheel drive system in place. One way or another, we hope to find out before the year is out. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases return with a Countach

Unless you have an intense aversion to Jerry Seinfeld, it's hard not to find something to like about his show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. After all, the series combines funny people telling often hilarious stories while riding in ridiculously cool vehicles. The trailer for the sixth season is now online, and based on this tease, this definitely looks worth watching no matter what part of the videos interest you. Of course, it's the automotive portion that really grabs us, and Seinfeld has quite a fleet to showcase for season six. The trailer shows off a Lamborghini Countach, a '57 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, a classic Volkswagen Beetle in the green and white German Polizei livery, a Morgan, an Aston Martin DB5, and a Ferrari 308. On the more humorous side of things, the guest list at least includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher and upcoming host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah. Season six of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premieres on Crackle on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 PM ET.
