Lamborghini teases new Huracan GT3

The Volkswagen Group supports many racing programs among its various brands, but somewhat surprisingly, Lamborghini is not chief among them. Not by a long shot. But even Lambo is getting in on the action with the upcoming launch of the Huracán GT3 previewed in this latest video clip from testing at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome.
The new Huracán GT3 will be Lamborghini's first major in-house competitive racing project, building on the Huracán Super Trofeo spec racer and the previous Gallardo and Murciélago racers that were developed by Reiter Engineering (with varying levels of support from the factory).
Expect the Huracán GT3 to be based closely on the production version, but in order to comply with FIA GT3 class regulations, we can expect that it will have to shed a good few hundred pounds off its curb weight - even more if the Squadra Corse wants to keep the 5.2-liter V10 at the same 600-horsepower output it boasts in road-going trim.

Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo makes official debut at the Quail

Racing fans, meet Lamborghini's newest track weapon, the Huracán LP620-2 Super Trofeo. Designed for the one-make Blancpain Super Trofeo series, the Huracán picks up where its predecessor, the Gallardo, left off.
Its engine bay is home to a ten-cylinder, much like the road-going Huracán. Unlike the coupe, the racer boasts 620 horsepower, up just ten ponies from the LP610-4. But - and as buts go, this is a big one - the Super Trofeo tips the scales at just 2,800 pounds, nearly 400 pounds less than the standard model, thanks to the removal of the all-wheel-drive system. That's right, this Lambo sends its power to the rear wheels.
Aside from the single drive axle, Lamborghini has upgraded the car's aerodynamics, offering gentlemen racers the option of ten different settings for the rear wing, as well as new front and rear diffusers and adjustable front air intakes. Lambo has also fitted specially formatted Pirelli race rubber, and gotten development help from the racing gurus at Dallara Engineering.

And yet, there's still enough enthusiasm around anything with an engine to support everything from wildly tuned bosozoku rides with exhaust pipes reaching toward the sky to seriously fast Porsche and Lamborghini models. To promote its latest Hero4 camera, GoPro has embarked on a short film series called Adventure of Life in 4K, and the latest installment goes inside Japan's speed scene with some gorgeous cinematography of vibrant vehicles rocketing through the city. It's all mixed over more serene images of Tokyo landscapes that combine to form a mini-documentary that's a feast for the eyes.
