Lamborghini Miura owner sues garage over million-dollar car-b-que [w/video]

Remember about a year and a half ago when a rare, classic Lamborghini Miura SV went up in flames in London? Its owner sure does. And he's not willing to write it off, pointing fingers squarely at the Lamborghini dealership in London for causing the fire. It may seem like a difficult case to make, especially since the Miura was not in the dealership's possession when the fire erupted – the owner's son was driving it, but he was driving it home from the dealer where it had been brought in for service. According to the suit filed by the vehicle's owner, billionaire property agent Jon Hunt, the mechanics at the dealership owned by high-end automotive group H.R. Owen must have improperly fitted the spark plugs during the Miura's service. Lamborghini's official dealership should have known better, says Mr. Hunt. That's why Hunt is suing the dealership to the tune of GBP700,000, equivalent to over $1 million at today's rates, plus storage costs and "loss of enjoyment." The vehicle – one of only 764 made – was evaluated at GBP900,000, but Hunt's suit deducts the GBP200,000 it was worth as scrap. Lamborghini teases new Huracan GT3

The Volkswagen Group supports many racing programs among its various brands, but somewhat surprisingly, Lamborghini is not chief among them. Not by a long shot. But even Lambo is getting in on the action with the upcoming launch of the Huracán GT3 previewed in this latest video clip from testing at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome.
The new Huracán GT3 will be Lamborghini's first major in-house competitive racing project, building on the Huracán Super Trofeo spec racer and the previous Gallardo and Murciélago racers that were developed by Reiter Engineering (with varying levels of support from the factory).
Expect the Huracán GT3 to be based closely on the production version, but in order to comply with FIA GT3 class regulations, we can expect that it will have to shed a good few hundred pounds off its curb weight - even more if the Squadra Corse wants to keep the 5.2-liter V10 at the same 600-horsepower output it boasts in road-going trim.

Lamborghini CEO says Urus headed to production

It's only a matter of time before Lamborghini is cleared to start producing the Urus sport utility vehicle, and, according to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, that time is expected to be soon, The Detroit News reports.
"We're going low profile now," Winkelmann says. "I can't tell you much on details now, but when we get close to the launch, we will have more." The CEO reportedly said earlier this year that the Urus would start production in 2017, which was backed up by earlier statements made by parent company Audi's CEO, Rupert Stadler, who told Autocar, "Lamborghini has to do it. Because of the need to dovetail into production cycles, we should see the Urus in 2017."
Lamborghini delayed production of the Urus a year ago due to Europe's economic climate while continuing to develop the SUV. But since then China, one of Lamborghini's largest emerging markets, has exhibited a slowdown of high-end luxury item purchases. Winkelmann now reportedly says the biggest opportunities are in "Japan, the Middle East and especially the US."
