It has been trimmed of 126 pounds thanks to the use of hard but light weight carbon fiber. The engine cover, rear diffuser, underbody cover, exterior mirrors, rear spoiler, side sills, and inner door panels are all made of carbon fiber. The rear window glass has also been replaced with lighter weight polycarbonate. While Lamborghini was reducing weight, they added 11 horsepower to the already phenomenal 512 horsepower 5.0 liter V-10 Gallardo engine. This Superleggera features the interior carbon fiber package which includes special trim on the shift lever skirt, carbon fiber on doors, carbon fiber on dashboard, carbon fiber leather sports steering wheel, Superleggera carpet floor mats, Superleggera rear carbon fiber spoiler, and multimedia navigation system. Finished in the Arancio Borealis tri-coat paint, and Black Alcantara interior with orange stitching, this Superleggera is stunning. Use your Lamborghini Aventador to roast weenies
Tue, 13 Aug 2013The Lamborghini Aventador is more than an obscenely fast supercar - it's also a ridiculously expensive barbecue. At least, that's what this video would have you believe. SCD-TV shows one of the extra uses for that shiny new Aventador in your driveway, by cooking a sausage while it belches flames out of its back end.
Now, we aren't entirely sure how good the finished sausage will be. After all, we kind of imagine that a ton of fire over such a short period of time would kind of just sear the outside while leaving the inside of the casing undercooked. Maybe the Aventador would be better suited to roasting marshmallows. There's also the question of just what's been spewed onto the hot dog by the exhaust of the Aventador. Besides not being too tasty, we aren't sure it'd really be a safe sausage to eat.

Harry Metcalfe shows off his Lamborghini Countach
Sat, Jan 17 2015Harry Metcalfe may no longer be editing the Evo magazine he founded, but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have octane pumping through his veins – or that he isn't still producing world-class automotive content. In this latest video released on his YouTube channel Harry's Garage, Metcalfe shows off is 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole. The precursor of today's Aventador, the Countach was Sant'Agata's longest-serving mid-engined twelve-cylinder supercar, remaining in production from 1974 (after the Miura was discontinued) until 1990 (when the Diablo replaced it), and earned its place of prominence on the walls of so many childhood bedrooms. Metcalfe's was a later model from 1987 – the London Motor Show car from that year, in fact – packing the enlarged 5.2-liter V12 with the four-valve heads, those fantastical air vents and that giant rear wing. Harry even had the legendary Valentino Balboni to sign the interior. The video is a full half-hour long, but even if you've only got a few minutes, it's worth watching just the beginning to hear it starting up.
Watch the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento used as a commuter car
Mon, Feb 15 2016Lamborghini never homologated the limited edition Sesto Elemento for the road, but this guy threw caution to the wind by taking the track-only sports coupe on the highway. He even recorded the high-speed blasts on video and had a Rolls-Royce along as a posh camera car. Lamborghini made just 20 examples of the Sesto Elemento, and they sold for 2 million euros each, which equaled $2.8 million at that time. The powertrain was the 570-horsepower V10 and all-wheel drive system from the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, and Lambo made extensive use of carbon fiber for the special coupes, which cut the weight to just 2,200 pounds. The company claimed they could sprint to 62 miles per hour in only 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 198 mph. This driver was clearly very excited to show off the copious power from the limited edition Lamborghini, but he might have had a better time at the track. That is where Lamborghini means for the Sesto Elemento to play, and there would be no worries about the authorities potentially confiscating his rare ride. Related Video:
