Ford Mustang challenges Lamborghini in amazing drift battle

Engines scream and tires billow with smoke as Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Daigo Saito stage a drift battle through an abandoned Japanese resort that looks like a Russian village in this stunning clip. The high-performance ballet of these amazing machines sliding around makes this one of the best videos of the year. To fight this duel, Gittin straps into his 550-horsepower Ford Mustang, and Saito meets the pony car's challenge with a drift-prepped Lamborghini Murcielago. The drivers hit a curving road and show expert car control as the men slide these very different vehicles just inches from each other. Eventually, night descends, and they add some fire to the scene to give the stunts a more apocalyptic look. The production values for this short clip are phenomenal, and the editing makes the viewer feel right in the middle of the action. Petrolicious cruises with a high-mile Lamborghini 400 GT

When a sports car is as beautiful as a 1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2, it belongs on the road for people to see, and Jack Riddell definitely gives folks plenty of opportunities to check out his red Lambo. He has owned the grand tourer since 1972 and put well over 200,000 miles on the odometer in that time. They earn the spotlight in the latest clip from Petrolicious after previously appearing on Jay Leno's Garage. Riddell's constant use of the coupe is exactly what Ferruccio Lamborghini would have wanted. The company made the 400 GT to eat up huge stretches of road at high speed through Europe. The beautiful sound of the 4.0-liter V12 beckoned the driver to keep going just a little more. Riddell got lucky when he found the 400 GT and refused to let it go. Now the Lambo is like an old pal to him. He jokes about a few of the coupe's foibles, but after hundreds of thousands of miles together, they clearly have a deep connection. Related Video:

Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera spotted on 'Ring

Ever since Lamborghini introduced the Huracan to replace the Gallardo in 2014, we've been waiting for the Superleggera version to follow. This seems to be it. Spied testing at the Nurburgring is what appears to be a more hardcore version of Bologna's ten-cylinder supercar. It may be hard to tell from looking at it, because while the finished product will undoubtedly wear more aggressive aerodynamic appendages and fresh rolling stock, this prototype looks the same as the version we already know – with one exception. Around back, there's a big black box that looks as though it were lifted straight off a fighter jet. Now Lamborghini's been known to take its cues from military aircraft, but what we're seeing here is likely a disguise for the new exhaust system, mounted higher up the rear bumper. Our paparazzi on the ground in the Eifel Mountains tell us this prototype sounds meaner than your run-of-the-mill Huracan, which bodes well. The standard version packs a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 good for 602 horsepower. The Super Trofeo racing version offers up 611, and we'd expect the Huracan Superleggera to pack at least that much, given the ten-horse gap between the preceding Gallardo and its Superleggera variants. Expect it also to come stripped out to help further optimize the power-to-weight ratio, but it will likely keep the all-wheel drive system in place. One way or another, we hope to find out before the year is out.
