Deadmau5 orders Nyanborghini Purracan to replace departed Purrari

EDM DJ and producer Deadmau5 is unusual among car collectors for a few reasons, like the fact that the Canadian native didn't get his driver's license until he was 32 - about two years ago and well into fame - so his first car was a Porsche 911 Carrera RS. Elsewise, his garage contains a BAC Mono, a McLaren P1 and 650S, a Range Rover, a "custom Jeep Rubicon with an SRT engine and big suspension," and a daily driver Bentley Continental GT Supersports. There is also that controversial and now-unwrapped Ferrari 458, the Nyancat Purrari with custom badging that so incensed Ferrari they sent him a cease-and-desist letter. After the kerfuffle, Nissan teased Deadmau5 with the idea of a Nyancat GT-R, but the musician has tweeted the the replacement is going to be a Lamborghini Huracan called, naturally, the Nyanborghini Purracan. Deadmau5 tweeted the delivery date is in May, so all you other Toronto-ites, you have until summer to prepare yourselves for this guy patrolling the streets. Oh, Canada... The ultimate Lamborghini Miura is for sale

There's no such thing as an ugly Lamborghini Miura, but the one currently for sale by Bingo Sports in Japan is something truly special. Starting life as a 1968 example, German Lambo importer Herbert Hahne had this beauty converted into a custom Jota SVR. The authentic Lamborghini Miura Jota started as a project to take the company's supercar racing, and the one-off featured a plethora of upgrades, including lower weight, aero adjustments like fixed headlights, extra power, and much more. The car met an untimely end when its wealthy owner had a crash in Italy. However, a few Miura owners wanted one, as well, and the factory did a handful of conversions to create examples that are incredibly valuable today. According to Bingo Sports' listing, Hahne's car is something a bit different. He had a '68 Miura transformed with this shapely body in 1975. The design now sports incredibly wide rear fenders to fit some serious tires at the back. He also had a rear spoiler added to the engine cover that placed the wing right on top of the roof when closed. The interior was also refitted with some comfy leather-covered Recaro seats and a Blaupunkt stereo. Within about a year of the custom work, the Miura made its way to Japan. The supercar has lived there ever since, and a three-year restoration was reportedly just completed. That's not too hard to believe because the photos show every surface of this unique supercar as practically immaculate. Volkswagen breaks 40-year-old sales record in 2012

The last time Volkswagen moved this many vehicles in America in one year, Richard Nixon was still a President in good standing, Let It Be was a radio hit and each car wearing the VW badge boasted an air-cooled engine. That's right, with a grand total of 580,286 vehicles sold in the US last year, the VW Group has broken its own four-decades-old sales record by 2,899 vehicles.
Of that 580k total sold, 438k were Volkswagens and 139k were Audi products - increases of 35.1 percent and 18.5 percent, respectively, in year-over-year sales. The ultra-premium members of the VW group also fared well; Bentley delivered 2,315 vehicles for a 23.3-precent increase, and Lamborghini delivered 520 units for a 52.9-percent jump. Bugatti, we're told is "right on track."
Jetta (pictured) sales paced the marque with 170k models sold, and Passat also finished very strong with sales of 117k total. Tiguan also racked up its best year on file, with 31,731 models shifted.
