Lamborghini Asterion leaked in print ahead of Paris debut

The first purportedly leaked images from an Italian magazine of Lamborghini's new vehicle for the Paris Motor Show are on the web, and they closely echo the model's silhouette from the teaser. However, there's no official mention of a name to confirm that this is being called the Asterion, as rumored.
The profile image (right) definitely suggests this is the same model that Lamborghini is previewing for Paris. It features the same slightly arcing hood and roof, and it has a rear air intake behind the door. The shape also seems to support the belief that this concept has a 2+2 seating arrangement to echo earlier Lambo models like Espada.
According to Autoblog.nl, which has posted the images, the vehicle may use a hybrid V10 with three electric motors to produce in the neighborhood of 900 horsepower. Furthermore, it claims that this might be just one of two concepts that Lamborghini is bringing to the Paris show. For now it's still a mystery, but all should be revealed on October 2 for the vehicle's unveiling.

Lamborghini files for trademark on Egoista name

Lamborghini has reportedly filed to register a trademark for the name Egoista. The name was previously used on an outrageous one-off, single-seater concept revealed in 2013. While the trademark application doesn't necessarily mean the concept will be put into production, it certainly bodes well. Fans of the marque will recall that the Lamborghini Egoista surfaced in May 2013 as a birthday present from the automaker to itself on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. The radical design penned by Walter De Silva was inspired by helicopter gunships and featured a single solitary seat under a canopy, giving the one-of-a-kind creation its "selfish" name. Motivation (were it ever let out onto the street) came from a 5.2-liter V10 like the one in the Gallardo and Huracan, optimized to the tune of 600 horsepower. The Egoista was never displayed at any auto shows, going straight to the museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese at the entrance to the company's factory and headquarters. At the time of its creation, Lamborghini said that "the Egoista is pure emotion, Never Never Land, which no one can ever possess, and which will always remain a dream, for everyone." The reported filing of the trademark application would ostensibly suggest a change of heart on Lambo's part, or at least that it could be entertaining the use of the name for some application beyond the concept that's now two and a half years old. Vmax200 in in England organizes events where those who care to show up with a supercar can run them down the two-mile runway at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground. Evo attended the latest event, bringing an impressively green Lamborghini Aventador to test its girth and gaping vents against other precious metals like the McLaren P1 and F1, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Enzo, a Porsche Carrera GT and enough 911 Turbos to start a dealership. Speaking of those Porsches, nine of the top ten slots in the top speed competition are claimed by modified 911 Turbos.
A monochrome Swede ruled them all, though, a black-and-white Koenigsegg CCX setting fire to the speed trap run after run, hitting 211 miles per hour at its quickest. It was followed by, surprise, a 911 GT2 modified by 9E that did 210 mph.
