Santa upgrades to Lamborghini Gallardo, spreads joy in LA

We understand. It's hard to slow down and really take in the holiday season, so it often comes and goes in a blur. That's especially so in Los Angeles, where almost everything moves fast and you feel like a face in the crowd. Determined to keep up with the fast pace and be noticed, one Santa Clause and his "elf" assistant decided to upgrade their "sleigh" - to a Lamborghini Gallardo (no reindeer needed).
We commend Santa's choice in the beloved Lamborghini and think Los Angelenos did notice him (though we're not sure he wanted to be approached by Freddy Krueger up there). Head below to watch Santa and his helper spread holiday joy with V10-powered goodness.

Wrecked rental Lamborghini abandoned on Texas tollway

If you crashed and abandoned a $250,000 rented Lamborghini Gallardo on the side of the Dallas North Tollway Saturday night, the police would like to have a word with you. It appears that the Lamborghini hit a retaining wall before being dumped by the driver, according to WFAA. The supercar was found early Sunday morning with no identifying papers and no one around in the southbound lanes of the tollway. Police towed the vehicle. Exotic Skittles, an exotic car rental company in the Dallas area, confirmed that the crashed Lamborghini had been rented from them. The company's Facebook page prominently features a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo similar to the one left on the side of the road. It seems that yellow Gallardos can be a real problem on the high-end rental market; it was just last year that teen-idol and general Canadian roustabout Justin Bieber was arrested for committing various acts of bad driving in a similar model, in Florida. 1963 Lamborghini 350 GTV still looks fresh on Pebble's Concept Lawn

We already brought you a gallery of Lamborghini's latest rockstar, the Veneno, from it's vaunted spot on the lawns of The Quail here in Monterey. Apparently the Italian brand didn't want the Pebble Beach crowds to feel left out, so it brought the supercar along to the Concept Lawn here as well. Not to miss out on the classics action Lamborghini has matched the Veneno with the car that started everything for the company: the original 1963 350 GTV prototype.
With 50 years separating the Veneno from the debut of the hip 350 GTV at the Turin Motor Show, Lamborghini cheekily mentions that it has stuffed "100 years of innovation in half the time." We'll leave the judgments of historical significance in the capable hands of the Pebble judges, but will agree that the original Lamborghini still looks amazingly hot, decades after its reveal. Apparently the classic 350 GTV doesn't travel a whole lot either, so we're happy to have a chance to lay eyes on it here.
