NOTE: Vehicle Location is Santa Maria, CA 93455, USA Since I was young, I dreamed of owning a Lamborghini Countach. I finally realized that dream, many years ago...sort of. I purchased this half-built kit car and started the process of creating my own supercar. Along the way I met a whole new family of passionate friends that shared the same dreams, met countless people who just wanted to learn more, or just be close to such an exotic machine. I recently re-located my home and businesses to Los Angeles and as part of that move, my most painful loss is the fact that I need to now part with my car. I simply do not have a location to store and work on it now, and so I must sell it to someone else who can finish it and drive it. This has been a gut-wrenching decision, but hopefully this will create an opportunity for someone else to take on this project and continue the adventure! This is a Pontiac Fiero-based non-stretch chassis with an IFG Koenig Countach body. It still has the stock engine and drive train. It has no crazy engine modifications to make getting it running well a big problem. I have completely re-built the suspension system with Pro-Thane urethane bushings and and after an alignment and tighten-up will be a real smooth-mover! It has not been driven or ran for many years, so it will require a thorough mechanical inspection and cleanup before driving. I did drive it myself when I first purchased the car, then I started the process of re-building it. I had plans of pulling the engine and upgrading the engine to a v-8 which has been done many times to cars like this, but I never got that far. When I embarked on this project I decided that I wanted the experience of driving this car to be as accurate and realistic as possible of that of a real Lamborghini Countach. So the process of completely gutting the interior began. I created custom interior panels, dash board and other components to resemble the actual Lambo interior. I then started a several-year process of sourcing all-authentic Lamborghini interior parts for the the switches, indicators, selectors and other components that would create a great driving environment and convince any passer-by that this was a true super car. I work in the movie and TV industry, so I figured it should work as a picture car as well, so accuracy was important. I painstakingly re-wired the Pontiac wiring system to work with the Lamborghini switches and it's trademark pushbutton switches! No easy task, let me tell you! I spent many years and many thousand dollars finding original replacement parts for the car. I have amassed an incredible collection of exceptionally rare original Lamborghini parts that I am selling ALONG WITH this car. See this PAGE for a partial listing of everything included. This is virtually a turn-key project car that has almost everything that you need to complete the vehicle. The car has not been driven for many years and will require a basic service and mechanical check out prior to being driven. The wheels are in prefect shape, the tires are original Pirelli P-7s (exceptionally rare!) and as such are older, but have plenty of tread, though they'll likely need replacement before they get any real mileage. NOTE: This car has a CA DMV Specially Constructed Vehicle number designation which is a highly sought after designation that should allow it to be registered by its body or engine year and thus allow smog check exemption. It has not been registered since 2002 (I believe) so buyer will be responsible for all registration fees and costs associated with the title. Aventador gets a split personality in Brooklyn
Tue, 24 Sep 2013If you're going to drive a Lamborghini like it's meant to be driven, you'd better make sure there's nothing else around. New York City most definitely does not qualify, as the driver of this white Aventador discovered the hard way.
Caught in motion by two closed-circuit cameras in Mill Basin, this supercar may have been speeding down the road a bit too fast for the driver of a black sedan to see it. The sedan hangs a left right into the Lambo's path, clipping the nose on the sedan and sending the Aventador into the wall. Our take? Both drivers appear to be at fault.
As you can see from the video below and this image on Reddit, the Lambo split in two on impact, but the carbon-fiber monocoque passenger cell stayed intact. The result may look shocking, but no one was reported to be seriously hurt.
Seinfeld and Chris Rock laugh it up in a Lamborghini Miura
Thu, 18 Jul 2013Jerry Seinfeld has featured many beautiful cars and hilarious comedians in his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee web series, but this latest episode might top them all. (To his credit, it feels like we've been saying that a lot lately). In this video, Seinfeld snags the keys to a 1969 Lamborghini Miura and picks up funnyman Chris Rock.
Not surprisingly, Seinfeld says the Miura is "the most beautiful car ever designed," and he shows how fast it can be, too. After stopping for lunch and a conversation with Rock, Seinfeld gets an unexpected chat with one of New Jersey's Finest. There are plenty of laughs, but the Lamborghini and its long eyelashes steal the light in this episode. Check it out below.
Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae Roadster ends non-hybrid V12 production
Wed, Sep 28 2022To quote Hall & Oates: "She's gone," the "she" here being the Lamborghini Aventador. The last of the scissor-doored supercars with a naturally-aspirated V12 rolled off the line in LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster form colored an Ad Personam light blue, headed for a quiet life in Switzerland. That also closed the chapter on the 350 coupes and 250 roadsters made in Ultimae spec. This is a belated end-of-life, the Italian concern restarting production lines after 85 Lamborghinis, 15 of them Aventador Ultimaes destined for the U.S. market, got torched on the cargo ship Felicity Ace in March of this year. The final tally for the latest V12 spreadsheet counts 11,465 cars delivered in 11 years, more than doubling the entire sales count of its predecessor, the Murcielago, and exceeding the combined sales of every one of Lamborghini's V12 models since the 3.5-liter V12 in the 350 GT in 1964. What began with the 6.5-liter 12-cylinder with 691-horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque in 2022 ended with that engine making 760 hp and 531 lb-ft in the Ultimae. The official 0-to-62 mile per hour dash came down a tenth of a second in that time, depending on where you look, from 2.9 seconds to 2.8. Top speed rose from 217 mph to 220. Plenty fast then, plenty fast now. Between those yardposts there have been more than 10 one-offs and limited editions. The former group includes the Jota, SVJ Xago, and the SC18 Alston track car. The latter group counts the Anniversario, Veneno, Centenario, and Sian FKP 37. There were also innovations like the enclosed carbon fiber monocoque supported by "flying doctors" that traveled the world to help diagnose and repair damage that benefited owners. There was the pushrod suspension that turned a heavyweight into a flickable canyon runner, benefiting all drivers. There was the Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) single-shift transmission, which Lamborghini says was "chosen for lightweight compactness and the most emotive shift." Given its tidal shifting motion and occasionally clumsy changes under partial throttle or when trying to figure out what the driver wanted in changing conditions, we never figured out who that benefited. What comes next will be a hybrid V12 powertrain wrapped in looks that, based on spy shots, will evolve the latest design language with details like new lights, bladed B-pillars, and high-rise exhaust. Shouldn't be long to wait now.
