Since I was young, I dreamed of owning a Lamborghini Countach.  I finally realized that dream, many years ago...sort of.

I purchased this half-built kit car and started the process of creating my own supercar.

Along the way I met a whole new family of passionate friends that shared the same dreams, met countless people who just wanted to learn more, or just be close to such an exotic machine.

I recently re-located my home and businesses to Los Angeles and as part of that move, my most painful loss is the fact that I need to now part with my car. I simply do not have a location to store and work on it now, and so I must sell it to someone else who can finish it and drive it. This has been a gut-wrenching decision, but hopefully this will create an opportunity for someone else to take on this project and continue the adventure!

This is a Pontiac Fiero-based non-stretch chassis with an IFG Koenig Countach body.  It still has the stock engine and drive train. It has no crazy engine modifications to make getting it running well a big problem.  I have completely re-built the suspension system with Pro-Thane urethane bushings and and after an alignment and tighten-up will be a real smooth-mover! It has not been driven or ran for many years, so it will require a thorough mechanical inspection and cleanup before driving. I did drive it myself when I first purchased the car, then I started the process of re-building it. I had plans of pulling the engine and upgrading the engine to a v-8 which has been done many times to cars like this, but I never got that far.

When I embarked on this project I decided that I wanted the experience of driving this car to be as accurate and realistic as possible of that of a real Lamborghini Countach. So the process of completely gutting the interior began. I created custom interior panels, dash board and other components to resemble the actual Lambo interior.  I then started a several-year process of sourcing all-authentic Lamborghini interior parts for the the switches, indicators, selectors and other components that would create a great driving environment and convince any passer-by that this was a true super car.  I work in the movie and TV industry, so I figured it should work as a picture car as well, so accuracy was important. I painstakingly re-wired the Pontiac wiring system to work with the Lamborghini switches and it's trademark pushbutton switches! No easy task, let me tell you!

I spent many years and many thousand dollars finding original replacement parts for the car. I have amassed an incredible collection of exceptionally rare original Lamborghini parts that I am selling ALONG WITH this car. See this PAGE for a partial listing of everything included.

This is virtually a turn-key project car that has almost everything that you need to complete the vehicle.

The car has not been driven for many years and will require a basic service and mechanical check out prior to being driven. The wheels are in prefect shape, the tires are original Pirelli P-7s (exceptionally rare!) and as such are older, but have plenty of tread, though they'll likely need replacement before they get any real mileage.

NOTE: This car has a CA DMV Specially Constructed Vehicle number designation which is a highly sought after designation that should allow it to be registered by its body or engine year and thus allow smog check exemption. It has not been registered since 2002 (I believe) so buyer will be responsible for all registration fees and costs associated with the title.

I am selling the vehicle, all the Lambo OEM original parts, several custom made replica parts. Every single piece and element that I purchased, built and traded for to create this car is being sold along with it. Everything, including seals, battery, filters, wires, switches and the list goes on and on. Click here for details

Arrangements can be made to view this car in Santa Maria, CA 93455 with prior notice. I do not live in Santa Maria so I have to arrange travel to meet you, so only serious buyers please.

Upon purchasing the car, you will need to schedule a flatbed tow truck or car hauler to move it, as it does not run on its own at this time.  I will require a $2,000 deposit upon agreement to purchase. I will end all ads, auction and promotion of the sale of this vehicle at that time and no sooner.  I am selling it as-is with no warranty expressed, no returns or refunds. Please understand what you are purchasing. It has much work to be done to get in running and looking like the true beauty she is inside. If you know about these project, you understand the work that goes into them, and you will also understand the incredible value for the amount of material that you will receive along with this car. Parting out all the original Lamborghini OEM parts and replicas might even be enough to cover the entire selling price! Many of these items are exceptionally rare and took me YEARS to source.

In addition to the vehicle this sale comes with an outstanding collection of authentic, replica and custom made Lamborghini parts, accessories, emblems, decals and other items that will transform your experience of owning this car!

Lamborghini teases engine sound, but of Sesto Elemento or Cabrera?

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

Lamborghini has launched a website for something it calls the Hexagon Project. The mysterious page asks that you submit your email address, and then it gives you a taste of glorious V10 engine noise, with the message: "Listen to your instinct. Discover the roar of a new creature from Lamborghini. That will be just the beginning."
But where is that wonderful noise going to come from? Since we don't see Lambo launching a front-engined, front-drive minivan in the near future, we're guessing it'll be found in the back of some low-slung, edgy super car.
In our minds, that leaves two candidates. The popular opinion, perpetuated by our friends at Jalopnik, is that this is the engine for Lambo's Gallardo replacement, rumored to be called the Cabrera. This is a sound guess, although the naming of the site, Hexagon Project, makes us think that there's more to it all than just the Cabrera's new engine.

Lamborghini applies to trademark 'Huracan STJ' for another limited edition

Wed, Mar 6 2024

When Lamborghini showed the 60th anniversary Huracans at Milan Fashion Week last April, automaker CEO Stephan Winkelmann said "The special editions of the Huracan not only celebrate the 60th anniversary of our brand, but also give our customers maybe the last chance to purchase an otherwise sold-out V10-powered Lamborghini." We wrote at the time that we thought "maybe" was a vital qualifier. The Huracan's twin-turbo V8 hybrid-powered successor isn't due until the end of this year; 18 months is a long time for the Sant' Agata brand to go without a special edition for the growing legion of buyers ready with six or seven figures sight-unseen. CarBuzz might have restored order to the world and proved us right, finding a couple of trademark applications with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a vehicle called the Huracan STJ. The J is for "Jota," the Spanish pronunciation of the letter "J," representative of the FIA rule book's Appendix J detailing sports car racing and homologation regulations (a connection that might or might not be true), and of Lamborghini's most focused road-going models for retail customers going back to the Miura Jota prototype in 1970. Since then, there's been a Miura SVJ, Diablo SE30 Jota, Aventador J one-off speedster and the Aventador SVJ.   The short money says this is a turned-up version of the Huracan STO, itself the most raucous version of the Huracan that sold out through the end of production more than a year ago. The long money says this could be a track-only coupe, despite every previous J designation being legal for the street. The fans of all things bully at Lamborghini Talk say there will only be ten made, one for each of the automaker's global regions, and all are sold out. One poster wrote that in December and January, Lamborghini approached prospective buyers with the chance to purchase the sole unit for their region. Our bet is that nary a "No" was heard.  It's possible the public will get its first and perhaps only look at the Huracan STO — outside of Pebble Beach or an RM Sotheby's auction — at Lamborghini's takeover of Italy's Imola Circuit on April 6 and 7. The festival is called Lamborghini Arena, the automaker calling it "The most extraordinary event in our brand's history." Could make a worthy entrance for an extraordinary new J. Related video:

Time to catch up with Jay Leno's Garage, including his Lamborghini Espada restoration

Tue, Dec 23 2014

If you're already jealous of the time, effort and money that Jay Leno can devote to his massive car collection, prepare to get a little greener with envy with this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. Instead of the usual format of discussing a model for about ten minutes and then taking it out for a test drive, this week Leno gives viewers on a tour of over a dozen projects concurrently happening in his stable. The breadth of the vehicles shown and the things being done to them run the entire span of the automotive hobby. At the same time, Jay's shop is working on just a simple restoration of his 1969 Lamborghini Espada (pictured), and at the other side of the building, the team is rebuilding a wood-bodied 1914 Detroit Electric from scratch. He eventually plans to slot a more modern electric drivetrain into it. If bikes are more your interest, there's a freshly completed Brough Superior just waiting for a ride, and if American models are your thing, a Ford Bronco is getting a Coyote V8 installed into it. You have some very specific tastes if you can't watch this clip and start wishing at least one of these vehicles could be in your own garage. Other than the personal projects his mechanics are working on in the shop, Jay gets to have them all, plus plenty more.
