Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV retails for nearly $500k
Mon, Mar 16 2015Nobody ever said that buying a new Lamborghini would be an inexpensive proposition, but if the ~$200k sticker price on a new Huracan strikes you as high enough, you're don't even want to know how much the Raging Bull's new flagship costs. Presented this weekend for the first time in North America at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, the new Aventador LP 750-4 SV will set American customers back an eye-watering $485,900. Add to that the $3,700 gas-guzzler tax and $3,495 destination charge and you're looking at $493,095. That's just $6,905 short of half a million, and even that will disappear pretty quickly once you factor in all the gasoline and rubber you'll be burning through if you do right by the beast and actually drive it... not to mention insurance. That makes the new SuperVeloce nearly $100k more expensive than the Aventador coupe on which it's based, but hardly the costliest Lambo to date. That honor would go to the Veneno, which cost around $4 million. The half-million sticker price nets a twelve-cylinder supercar with 740 horsepower on tap, a 0-62 time quoted at 2.8 seconds and a top speed pegged at 217 miles per hour, making it one of the fastest cars money can buy – a stacking up rather well against hypercars like the Koenigsegg Agera, Pagani Huayra and Bugatti Veyron that cost many times more than the Aventador SV. Lamborghini Hurac?n gets an official trailer
Thu, 27 Feb 2014In what appears to be the first of a series of shorts akin to Project Hexagon in advance of the official reveal of the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4, Lamborghini has released its first trailer. We don't get much from this video - a man, a car, a storm, a hot dispatcher with a headset - but it's not like we need much enticement to spend time with the new junior bull. In fact, senior editor Seyth Miersma spent some time drooling all over the thing this week.
The Geneva Motor Show unveiling of the 610-horsepower coupe will be live streamed on March 4. We'll be there with cameras on burst mode, but until then there's the video below, the configurator, our Deep Dive, and the mini site to enjoy.
'Drive' the new Lamborghini Hurac?n today
Fri, 21 Mar 2014Unless you're a captain of industry, a professional athlete or some kind of thickly bankrolled celebrity, there's a pretty good chance that you're not going to be amongst the lucky first owners of the upcoming Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 supercar. We can commiserate, as just the though of slipping behind the wheel of the Gallardo-replacing monster, and gunning the 610-horsepower V10 engine is enough to get our hearts racing.
It's a kindly gesture on the part of Lamborghini then, to put together this little Huracán driving simulator for us 99-percenters. Perhaps not the very last word in graphical presentation or life-like physics engines, the sim is nevertheless a cool diversion for a flash-based driving game. If you're like us, you'll need a few laps to get acquainted with the brutish steering controls, but we trust you'll catch on. Last one around the test track buys the first round of grappa at happy hour.
