Wrecked rental Lamborghini abandoned on Texas tollway

If you crashed and abandoned a $250,000 rented Lamborghini Gallardo on the side of the Dallas North Tollway Saturday night, the police would like to have a word with you. It appears that the Lamborghini hit a retaining wall before being dumped by the driver, according to WFAA. The supercar was found early Sunday morning with no identifying papers and no one around in the southbound lanes of the tollway. Police towed the vehicle. Exotic Skittles, an exotic car rental company in the Dallas area, confirmed that the crashed Lamborghini had been rented from them. The company's Facebook page prominently features a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo similar to the one left on the side of the road. It seems that yellow Gallardos can be a real problem on the high-end rental market; it was just last year that teen-idol and general Canadian roustabout Justin Bieber was arrested for committing various acts of bad driving in a similar model, in Florida. Blue Lamborghini Aventador flamb'ees eyeballs on New York City school run

Regardless of how unsure we are of the back story in this video, we don't doubt how cool it would be to get picked up from [insert place here] in a Lamborghini Aventador. In this case, the driver says he picks up his former neighbor's daughter from New York-area high school in an Aventador, and with most of us heading to the Big Apple tomorrow for the New York Auto Show, we're wondering if this guy might be available to shuttle us from the airport to the hotel. It never hurts to ask.
After picking her up, they then head for a quick tour of Times Square with a trio of GoPro cameras recording the whole thing... missing out on a great opportunity to catch about five minutes of Aventador exhaust note, the video, for some reason, pipes in some awful background music. What is entertaining are the reactions that people have to seeing the car - whether from kids or adults - as the car has a magnificently beautiful Azure Blue paint job.

Elon Musk now has the car in his collection, but you can have the next best thing by buying this amphibious Lamborghini Countach. It needs a lot of work to be seaworthy or even roadworthy again, but the floating Italian supercar is currently on eBay Motors in the UK for the equivalent of $26,790. While the vehicle looks like a Countach, don't expect to listen to a sonorous Italian V12 on the open seas because power now comes from a Rover V8. In the water, a twin-prop drive runs from a power takeoff on the engine, and twin rudders allow for navigation. Hydraulics lift wheels when it's time to get wet. For wannabe Bonds, there's even a button inside to activate a smoke screen. Some digging online shows that Mike Ryan of SeaRoader originally built the water-going Countach. Both the eBay ad and Ryan's page assert the supercar briefly went to Hollywood for various roles, but the Internet Movie Car Database only shows the Lambo appearing briefly in Top Gear's Season 8 amphibious cars episode. Ryan also helped the guys build their own floating vehicles. Get ready for some hard work before setting sail. According to the listing, the carpets and seats are gone. The engine still turns, but the fuel pipe that goes to the tank needs replaced. It also requires new tires and brake work. If you're up to the challenge, this could be an amazing project.
