Lifted Yellow Jeep Wrangler Tj Teraflex/clayton Long Arm 6" Suspension on 2040-cars
Mount Airy, North Carolina, United States
This is a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with the 2012 model Detonator Yellow Paint job. Has a removeable black hardtop. Custom built jeep from the ground up for off road performance as well as for a beautiful head turner on the road. This jeep has had a complete build up less than 200 miles ago. Engine has been rebuilt. Both transmission and transfer case have been rebuilt by a local auto shop in town. Jeep has 37"x12.5" tires with custom powdercoated gloss black beadlock rims. I have installed a 6" long arm clayton off road lift kit combined with 6" shocks and springs by Teraflex (9550 series) as well as a 1" body lift. Brand new glass pack exhaust installed by a local muffler shop. There is a custom made grille with a bolt on/removeable emblem on the center (and am willing to make a custom logo for whoever buys jeep if they wish). The entire chassis and vehicle are both RUST FREE and will remain that way due to being powdercoated completely. New parts include: brake lines, power steering, new Tom Woods CV driveshaft, pinion seals, serpentine belt, ac condensor, oil filter, radiator hoses and new radiator, steering damper shocks, airtrax fuel delivery pump, worldwide starter and much more. Overall, I have well over $40,000 put into this jeep. I am selling not because I need too, but I wish to hand this over to someone else so I can focus on my other projects at the moment. I just have no time to drive this beauty anymore. Since I have built it, I have NEVER TAKEN IT OFFROAD. the 200 miles of so Ive driven it have all been paved highway. I am willing to let anyone come down and look at it and test drive in person if they wish.

Why Mopar won't release a factory lift kit for the new Jeep Cherokee
Thu, 24 Apr 2014The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Head over to RT to read the details, and don't be afraid to ogle the Cherokee Dakar gallery and another awesome Jeep fancy that won't likely crawl over the hurdles imposed by production reality.
Jeep Cherokee appears in Chrysler's second Super Bowl spot
Mon, 03 Feb 2014The second of three spots produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for this year's Super Bowl featured the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Aired during the game's half time show, the minute-long ad didn't strike as anything new or innovative from an automaker with a reputation for above average Super Bowl spots, but it did show the controversially styled Cherokee in the best light possible.
Called Restless, the commercial shows young, adventurous types doing the sorts of things that young, adventurous types do: surfing, skateboarding, cliff jumping, staring off into the sky with a pensive expression, etc. Scroll down to watch Restless for yourself and let us know in Comments if Jeep managed to hold your attention during half time.
Are future vehicular hacks inevitable?
Wed, Jul 29 2015Before the hack of the Uconnect system in a Jeep Cherokee resulted in a 1.4-million vehicle recall, the potential software vulnerabilities in vehicles were already a hot topic with Congressional inquiries and even proposed legislation in the US. As cars' interconnected systems gain the ability to go online, they become open to a host of new threats. Automakers are trying to stop this, but it might be too late to put the genie back into the bottle. Throughout 2015, the issue of software security in vehicles has become increasingly vital. For example, the recent Jeep case wasn't even the biggest hack this year. In February, a major flaw was discovered in the BMW Connected Drive service that allowed researchers to remotely lock and unlock the doors and potentially affected 2.2 million cars. The fix was an over-the-air patch for the problem. Automakers are actively working to fix the issues. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi reportedly are using encrypted connections and firewalls in their vehicles to prevent hacking. "Absolute, 100-percent safety isn't possible," Daimler spokesperson Benjamin Oberkersch said to Automotive News Europe. "But we develop our systems, tested by internal and external experts, so they're up to date." These vulnerabilities seem to be popping up more often. A successful hack took $14 in parts from Radio Shack in one case. There was also a 60 Minutes report earlier in the year about DARPA's ability to hack into OnStar to take control of a Chevrolet Impala. Experts aren't so sure companies can contend with hackers' advancement. "The difficulty for the carmakers at the moment is the question whether they can keep pace with advances in technology, and especially hacking technology," Rainer Scholz, executive director for telematics consultant EY, said to Automotive News Europe. "We seriously doubt they can." At this point, vehicle hacks are coming more from researchers looking for holes than from those with malicious intent. Still, the vulnerabilities are definitely there. It's up to automakers to keep patching the problems before they become dangerous to drivers.
