This jeep is in excellent running condition. . I drive it daily around my home town here in south Texas. Ive taken road trips in it to Atlanta Ga. and Ray Co. Its without a doubt reliable. The down side is fuel economy and the salvage title. Id like to clarify that I did not fix it myself. It was already running when I purchased it. I bought it with the knowledge that it had a rebuilt title. Ive had it for almost three years now. After I paid it off, I decided to dress it up a little. The paint is less than a year old. Hard top, mirrors and door handles were all sanded down to match the rest of the jeep. I kept it the original factory color because it was my personal preference. I added the mesh grill, H4 Led head lights, Anzo Led turn signal , Led tail lights, three separate independently wired Cree Led light bars. One across the front windshield, one on the hood, and one on the bumper. There are also an additional 8 waterproof Led lights under the cab. Four on the right and another four on the left. In short the entire vehicle is set up with Led lights including the interior as well. Rims are 17X10 Dick Cepek and The tires are 37 Mickey Thompsons. A 3.5 suspension lift and a 1.5 body lift to make room for the 37 wheels. Front bumper and fenders are both Smitty Built. I had them all stripped down of their original line-x powder coating to a smooth finish to compliment the rest of the jeep (make it really stand out ) and its color. I added new pro comp ES9000 series shocks all around and had them painted the same color of the jeep as well with the punisher decal on each of them. Dual flowmaster exhaust, Cobra 29LTD C.B radio also painted to match the exterior color, a chromed out Road King mike, and a Wilson 2000 antenna to tie it all up. Stereo system is nice. AVH P3400BH Pioneer Radio DVD RDS and AV receiver. 400 watt four channel Rockford Fosgate amp, 10 inch Rockford Fosgate subwoofwer and polk audio speakers. I also had to change out the original 4:11 gears to 5:13s to compensate for the larger tires, and added a Super Chips programmer to adjust for economy or horsepower depending on what I was using it for. The interior is in good shape. No torn seats or stains. carpet is fair. Everything works inside with the exception of a few minor things, such as a crack on the left front windshield, rear windshield wiper doesnt work. Three of the four tires are between 50 to 60% one is at about 85% (front passenger) due to a gash on the side wall. Also when I had it painted they never replaced the windshield washer gadget that squirts windshield washer fluid out. thats pretty much sums up the cons. Power mirror, locks, cruise, A/C, heater and 4x4 work perfectly.

Sunday Drive: Taking a gaze into the automotive crystal ball

Sun, Oct 22 2017

Mankind has long been fascinated by the future. So it makes sense that this past week's top stories were all about cars, trucks, and SUVs that won't be hitting the market until the 2019 model year. And right at the top of the list is the Ram 1500. We've come to know Ram as the truck maker that styles its pickups with cues cribbed from big rigs, but that look has slowly evolved over time into something uniquely its own. The next Ram 1500 continues this trend, with a newly refined look that we can't wait to see in person. Up next is the 2019 Chevy Silverado. Pickup trucks have been, continue to be, and will remain the best-selling vehicles in America. And General Motors is a leader in the field, with two distinct offerings with which to entice buyers, one from the bread-and-butter Chevrolet brand and one wearing the slightly more upscale GMC badge. The Chevy looks to get LED lighting elements for 2019, which ought to keep the truck from looking dated when compared to the Ford F-150 and the previously mentioned Ram 1500. From there we move past pickup trucks and into SUVs and sedans. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks to get toned down a bit with its next refresh, and the '19 BMW 3 Series continues its slow evolutionary journey at the top of its aspirational sales pedestal. Finally, spy shots give way to official production reveals for the 2019 Audi A7 and Polestar 1. This pair of European luxury cars won't compete with one another – one is a rakish hatchback and the other a sports coupe – any further than for the eyeballs of our readers, but both proved popular enough to merit inclusion in our weekly roundup. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Ram 1500 spotted without the classic crosshairs 2019 Chevy Silverado spied with new LED accents 2019 Jeep Cherokee reveals a much more normal face 2019 BMW 3 Series spy shots reveal production lights, new interior details 2019 Audi A7 revealed: More torque, refined styling Polestar 1 First Look | The 600 horsepower hybrid Scandinavian Green Audi BMW Chevrolet Jeep RAM Volvo Truck Hatchback SUV Future Vehicles Hybrid Luxury Performance Sedan sunday drive polestar 1

Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.

'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia

Fri, Jan 16 2015

These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models.
