94 Jeep Wrangler Sahara in great shape, no rust on the tub, or frame. When I was getting it cleaned up to sell, I DID find some very light bubbling-up on the windshield frame, right under the seal. It's shown in pictures. 4.0 6-cyl, 5-spd, 157XXX miles (I do drive it often, so mileage will go up).

It's not absolutely perfect, it's a 20-yr old Jeep, so there are a few scratches, but no dents and the original paint still shines. I get lots of comments, honks and of course the Jeep Wave. Clean CarFax! A very nice, mostly-stock, all-season Jeep. With the hard and soft top, plus two sets of rims, you can mix and match and run it all year long. Runs great, shifts smoothly. I've never had it off-road, (I doubt it has ever been), but I do put it in 4x4 every few months just to keep things lubricated. I hate to sell it, but the house needs some updates. It is for sale locally as well, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Other highlights:
- Hard and soft tops
- Full doors
- New radiator, thermostat and water pump
- New shocks and steering stabilizer
- New tube bumpers and nerf bars, all are rhino-lined. Also had the frame re-coated.
- Two sets of rims - the bullet hole rims that are currently on it and the original factory rims. You can have a summer set and a winter set.
- 2-inch body lift.
- 31" Cooper Discoverer HT tires currently on it, good rubber left. The factory rims have 31" BFG A/Ts (although not much life left in those. Then again, those tires go basically forever).
- Upgraded audio (Polk and Infinity speakers in the dash and sound bar, 6.5" Bazooka tube in the "trunk"), Premier CD player (the display does not work, but it sounds great. Also has an iPod/iPad connection).
- Interior is in great shape. Original seats, no rips (one slight snag in the rear seat, which is shown in pictures). Original carpet.
- Replaced rear axle bearings a few months ago.
- Factory A/C (could use a recharge)
- Garage kept, adult driven, basically babied. It's had an easy life, and it shows.
- When it first developed a radiator leak, I put Bar's Leak in it until I had time to mess with the radiator. It was an OK stopgap... Until the water pump gave out a week or so later. So there's a bit of an orange coating on the engine bay. I've been gradually cleaning it, but there's some places I can't reach.

I'll be happy to answer any questions or send more pictures. I have not shipped vehicles before, but I know some folks who have and will be happy to provide references if you don't know anyone. Or, you're welcome to visit Winston-Salem and pick-it up in person.

$750 deposit due when the auction closes.

Thanks for looking!

FCA is setting a five-year strategy: Here's how the last one played out

Thu, May 31 2018

We're slightly more than four years removed from Sergio Marchionne last five-year plan for FCA, a tell-all where the Italian-American automaker divulged its plans for the 2014 through 2018 model years. It was a grand affair, where Sergio told FCA investors that all was right in Auburn Hills, Alfa Romeo and Maserati were making comebacks, and the fifth-gen Dodge Viper received a mid-cycle refresh. You can read every last one of those past predictions right here. We're on our way to Europe to see Sergio's sequel, coming out Friday straight from FCA's Italian headquarters. (Bloomberg reports a plan to expand Jeep and Ram globally, combine Alfa Romeo and Maserati into a single division for an eventual spinoff, and downsizing Fiat and Chrysler. Also, EVs.) But before we arrive in Italy and find out exactly what Marchionne has planned for 2019 through 2023 as his last act as CEO, let's take a minute to tally up the results of his last term based on the same scoresheet we used in 2014. Now, we're only five months into 2018, so much of this — including vehicles like the Ram HD and Jeep Grand Wagoneer — could still debut this year. For those, we'll mark things TBD. We're not going to draw any conclusions or make any objectionable remarks. We're simply going to let the stats speak for themselves.

Jeep still working to improve Cherokee's 9-speed auto

Tue, Feb 3 2015

Fiat Chrysler is hoping an upcoming software update will stem the tide of consumer complaints surrounding its nine-speed automatic transmission. Owners of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee have reported a number of problems on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's SaferCar.gov website, since the new model and its troubled gearbox arrived way back in October 2013. The software update is "intended to keep the vehicle performing as intended, and to prevent durability issues from occurring in the future," an FCA spokesperson told Automotive News, and will be available to owners of both the 2014 to 2015 Jeep Cherokee and the 2015 Chrysler 200, which also uses the 9AT. While FCA will be notifying consumers of the update, owners can also request the software reflash if they happen into their dealer before then. Despite the widely documented problems with the transmission, the only complaints on NHTSA's website relate to the 2014 Cherokee – neither the 2015 Jeep nor the 200 have received any complaints. That bodes well as FCA prepares to begin deliveries of the 2015 Jeep Renegade and launch the Fiat 500X, both of which pair the 9AT with the 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder. "We have had to do an inordinate amount of intervention on that transmission, surely beyond what any of us had forecast," FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne told Automotive News. "There are things that we have done – that we continue to do. Our proactive customer care intervention has actually increased in intensity on these vehicles in 2014, especially in the second half." What's fascinating about the 9AT's problems are that they haven't been the fault of manufacturer ZF, but have related to software that wasn't "mature" and had "teething problems," Marchionne has said previously, AN reports. With the lack of criticism for the 9AT in 2015 models and this pending software update, though, here's hoping that FCA has finally figured out its fuel-sipping gearbox. Related Video:

This incredibly detailed toy Jeep will set you back $2,300 [w/video]

When I was a kid, I desperately wanted one of those Power Wheels Ford-badged Big Foot impersonators. They were far cooler than my lousy, plastic Big Wheel trike. This 1/8-scale electric Jeep takes the Power Wheels idea to a fanatical level. For one, the Capo Racing Jeep is as true to the real Wrangler as is possible in a 1/8-scale vehicle. Everything works, from the three-speed automatic transmission to the transfer case to the locking differentials. It uses a body-on-frame design with a real, metal multi-link suspension. In the cabin, the seats recline and the instruments light up. It has to be one of the most remarkable miniatures we've ever laid eyes on. Of course, that all comes at a price. As our chums at Jalopnik point out, for $2,300 you could pick up a full-size Wrangler. It'd be battered, sure, but it'd be something you could take on actual roads. Check out the fully gallery of images and official details over on the Capo Racing website. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
