Up for sale is a very custom 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Oscar Mike edition. We have gone through and changed
near everything on the vehicle to much better parts. The jeep has a $8000 flat metallic gunmetal gray paint job.
The front and rear fenders have been changed to Smittybilt XRC fenders with matching side guards totaling $1450
The rear bumper started as a poison spyder BFH bumper and then had a receiver hitch as well as two LED lights
installed in it and then paint matched with the fenders for $600 total. The front bumper is completely custom made
with built in LEDs and also made to hide the Smittybilt X20-12k wireless winch in it. Those two things after paint
but no labor was $1100. The front grill is all custom made with a mess insert powder coated a copper bronze with a
bolted trim to match the fenders and side guards. The grill cost $600 after materials and paint. Has the super
bright curved light bar up top to finish off the looks for $650 with the brackets. Under the jeep is just as custom
and tough. Has the BDS 6.5" long arm kit which comes with the no questions, no fine print warranty. The coils,
arms and other parts have been custom painted the same copper bronze to really make this jeep look as great as its
wheeling abilities are. The lift and paint cost are $4100 not installed. The jeep has new custom drive shafts
from Tom Woods both are the 1350 series which was $1475 for front and rear. The front axle is a fully built Dana
44 with an auburn locker and 35 spline. The rear axle is a Currie rockjock 60 with a ARB airlocker. Front axle
cost was $4800 and the rear was $5600 with an additional $350 for the air system. It has Pro Comp 40x13.50r17 MT2
tires on a American Racing 17x10 true beadlock. The bead lock rings have been coated in the copper bronze also.
The wheels and tires cost $2800 after mount balance and paint. I am running a dual Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer in
the front with a Currie antirock sway bar and they work perfect together, but also cost another $650. I am sure
there are other things I have forgot to add to this list.

Chrysler resolves recall issue with NHTSA, will inspect, upgrade affected Jeeps

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

Chrysler made big news earlier in the month by refusing a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty. Last week, NHTSA boss David Strickland countered by defending his agency's request for the recall of 2.7 million Jeep SUVs. Today marked the deadline for Chrysler to formally respond to NHTSA, and it seems that both parties have met in the middle with Chrysler inspecting and upgrading some of the affected vehicles without using the word "recall," which would constitute the admission of a defect; instead, Chrysler said that it is conducting a "voluntary campaign."
At issue on these vehicles is the positioning of the fuel tank behind the rear axle that could get damaged during a rear-end collision. NHTSA has stated that at least 51 people have been killed in rear-end collisions involving these Jeeps after the vehicles caught fire, to which Chrysler countered by pointing out that both models "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity.
As a compromise on the situation, Chrysler says that it will inspect all pre-2004 Grand Cherokees and pre-2007 Liberty models and, "if necessary, provide an upgrade to the rear structure of the vehicle." According to Automotive News, this upgrade will consist of adding a trailer hitch that will presumably better protect the rear-mounted gas tank. Vehicles already equipped with a factory or Mopar hitch will not be modified. Chrysler's official statement on the matter is posted below, but no additional information has been released, such as when the campaign will begin and how many vehicles could be affected.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: The next five years

Tue, 06 May 2014

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you've no doubt read about all of the big future product news coming out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today. We had individual brand reports from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and even Ferrari, but in the interest of simplifying and summarizing, we're going to list out the hard facts once more. Of course, with all of this still off in the future, there's still the possibility that a few changes will be made. But as of what we know right now, here's what's coming, and what's going away.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee pricing leaks out

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

With our deep dive and auto show coverage of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee revealed at the Detroit Auto Show, we brought you as much information as Chrysler would allow us to, but one thing we're still left in the dark about was the pricing. It would seem that Jeep Garage might have the answer for that. The Jeep enthusiast forum claims to have gotten its hands on the ordering and pricing breakdown for the updated Grand Cherokee, and while a Jeep representative has yet to get back to us as to the validity of the site's claim, these preliminary numbers look pretty kosher to us.
In base form, the two-wheel-drive Laredo will reportedly start at $28,795, which is a $1,100 increase over the 2013 model year, and the new Grand Cherokee Summit trim level starts at $47,995 for 4x2 models and $50,995 for the 4x4. Waiting for the new diesel engine? The torquey new 3.0-liter oil-burner will be a $4,500 option on Limited, Overland and Summit 4x4 models, but 4x2 pricing (and availability) are not known. As for the range-topping Grand Cherokee SRT (no longer called the SRT8), this added performance could run you an extra $2,700 with a new starting price of $62,995. More importantly, loaded to the gills with all available options, the 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT will top out at around $72,400 - or around $6,000 more than a fully loaded 2013 GC SRT8.
We'll let you know if the gang over at Jeep get back to us with any confirmation, but until then, head over to Jeep Garage to see the pricing details it has listed.
