I am selling my 2010 JKU Rubicon, I bought it used from a Dodge dealer in Nebraska in 2010 with around 15000 miles on it. It was stock when I bought it and I have since added a 2 1/2 inch Old Man Emu heavy duty lift with springs and shocks, ARB front and rear track bars, Rock Krawler front lowers, JRB pre-runner front bumper with an Engo 10,000 LB winch and synthetic line, 10 inch LED light bar, Hella A-pillar halogen lights, Rugged Ridge rear bumper with tire carrier and tail gate connector so it all swings out together, custom built evap canister skid, license plate mount and CB bracket. The Cobra CB and Firestik comes with it. The wheels are Rugged Ridge aluminum 17x9's with Fierce Attitude M/T tires that still have about 75% tread, Fierce are made by Goodyear and resemble an aggressive Duratrac tread pattern. The seats are in new shape and covered with Cover King neoprene seat covers (easier to pick up dog hair), rubber floor matts in the front and a rubber cargo matt in the rear. I added uConnect for handsfree cellphone calls and the iPod port to the factory base model CD/MP3 player. I am also running a Superchips tuner to adjust the speedometer and shift points for the larger tires (tuner included). I averaged 16 mpg on a 1500 miles trip to Colorado last year, that includes a high of 18 mpg on the highway at 55-60 mph and a low of who knows what creeping around on trails in the mountains at 12k feet. Also comes with a basic recovery winch kit, remote, and factory soft top and probably a couple other things I forgot I had.

FCA's shifter fiasco proves novel gear selectors are a bad idea
Tue, Feb 9 2016What's wrong with PRNDL? Why are automakers trying to overly complicate the simple task of selecting gears? If there's any lesson to learn from the recent news that NHTSA is investigating 853,000 Fiat Chrysler vehicles over its problematic gear selectors, it's that the trend of fancy shifters needs to stop. Now. Last year, NHTSA opened an investigation into Jeep Grand Cherokee models, and has now expanded this probe to include the 2012-14 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. The problem? The shifter – assembled by ZF – is confusing for many drivers. "Testing ... indicates that operation of the (electronic) shifter is not intuitive and provides poor tactile and visual feedback to the driver, increasing the potential for unintended gear selection," a NHTSA document states. More than 100 crashes and over a dozen injuries are linked to this problem, according to The Detroit Free Press. To us, the problem isn't just limited to FCA. These unnecessarily novel gear selectors are spreading like wildfire across the industry. Honda and Acura use a weird pushbutton setup. Lincolns have buttons on the dashboard. Jaguar's shifter electronically raises out of the center console. Mercedes uses a stalk with up-for-Reverse, down-for-Drive, push-for-Neutral arrangement. And what the hell is BMW thinking with its M cars? FCA has since abandoned the confusing shifters in question. The 300, Charger, and Grand Cherokee now use the rotary shift dial that's quickly proliferating across the company's brands. Simplistic gear selectors might not be sexy, but no one ever complained about not being able to find the right gear in a Hyundai Sonata. What's most interesting is that this NHTSA investigation could push FCA – and possibly other automakers – to redesign vehicle functions that otherwise operate as designed. Just because most people will never have a problem putting a Dodge Charger in Reverse doesn't mean there isn't a flaw with the design. But perhaps a more simplistic solution – good ol' PRNDL – would have prevented these issues from the start. Jeep Chief and Wrangler Red Rock Responder teased ahead of Easter Jeep Safari
Thu, Mar 12 2015Jeep is being coy about it's lineup for the 2015 Moab Easter Jeep Safari, releasing just a pair of shots and an exceptionally brief press release on two of the seven concepts coming to the desert later this month. So, what can we glean from the limited assets that have been given to us? Well, as we said, we know Jeep is bringing seven vehicles to its big festival. We also know the names of two vehicles, shown above – there's the Chief and the Wrangler Red Rock Responder. Which is which? A fair question. We're betting the second image is the Wrangler-based Red Rock Responder. As for the Chief, well, we've absolutely no idea what to expect there. Jeep's Moab concepts generally include the model name on which their based – see the Grand Cherokee Trail Warrior and Cherokee Dakar from last year, or even the Wrangler Red Rock Responder, mentioned above. There's no such moniker on the Chief. As for the Chief's illustrated teaser image, as we said, it doesn't reveal much. The body is angular, and quite Jeep like, with squared-off wheel arches and decidedly old-school taillights. Beyond that, though, we don't have much to go on. Expect much more not just on the Chief and Red Rock Responder, but on all seven of the concepts Jeep is bringing to Moab. The party starts on March 28 and runs until April 5. Be sure to check back then for full coverage. Related Video:
