2009 Jeep Wrangler Sport X on 2040-cars
Hawkins, Wisconsin, United States
If you have any questions please email at: spencerswwerner@lagerlouts.com .
Adult driven, ultra-pampered, always dealer serviced and garage kept in affluent home in rural Wisconsin. Never
city driven or in winter as it was strictly used as a pleasure vehicle by myself and my wife...no kids :) so it was
ALWAYS adult driven. The vehicle looks virtually new. The paint and exterior look 'showroom'. Everything works
as it should with no issues or problems anywhere. Mechanically it runs flawlessly as it has had Mobil 1 synthetic
oil since new. Engine/transmission operate flawlessly and sound outstanding. Automatic transmission so everyone
can drive.
Just had a 3" Rough Country lift professionally installed (specifically chosen due to the 'graduated' springs
which ensure a car-like, comfortable ride) and added 35" Kuhmo KL71 tires on 17" KDC Rockstar wheels. The
wheel/tire package cost over $2300 and the 3" lift installation cost $800. The tires were chosen because of their
outstanding on-road ride, quietness, and comfort characteristics. These wheels literally stop people in their
tracks with their awesome looks.
The undercarriage of the vehicle and frame have been treated with Eastwood brand chassis paint and undercoating
since new. A new application of "Extreme Chassis Black" was applied just 2 weeks ago making the underside of the
vehicle look amazing. The frame coating was professionally applied and can be visible in the pictures provided.
This vehicle has been treated with the utmost love and gently treated. Money for it's maintenance and upkeep have
NEVER been an issue. Mobil 1 synthetic changed every 3k miles. No road salt has touched this vehicle. Stored in
a heated, epoxy floored garage it's entire life.
No silly/questionable modifications or changes made to this vehicle. It is fully stock/OEM with only the recent
addition of the lift and beautiful tire package. The pictures do not show new OEM sidesteps which were removed so
the underside of the vehicle could have the frame/chassis coating applied. OEM Mopar sidesteps are included with
this vehicle. Factory/OEM softop only, no hardtop.
Should you have any questions or need any more pictures, please email me.

Hendrick wants to put Jeep Wranglers back on the battlefield
Mon, Jan 25 2016The Jeep Wrangler could be headed back to the battlefield. According to reports, negotiations are currently under way with the US Army to adapt the iconical American off-roader for military use. The Wranglers would serve as inexpensive, lightweight, unarmored vehicles that could be more easily airlifted into remote locations than costlier, heavier, and bulkier options. The proposal is not being fielded by the Jeep brand itself or its parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but by Hendrick Dynamics. The Charlotte-based offshoot of NASCAR racing team Hendrick Motorsports calls its modified Wrangler the Hendrick Commando. Instead of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 found in most US-market Wranglers, the Commando version employs the 2.8-liter diesel four built by VM Motori, modified to run on any type of diesel fuel or on JP-8 jet fuel to maximize its deployment versatility and comply with the Army's Single Fuel mandate of 2012. It would also support a variety of modular attachments for specific jobs, ranging from machine gun mounts and counter-mine rakes to radar arrays and advanced communications equipment. Hendrick says the Commando could also be deployed by helicopter or in cargo planes. And because it's based on a civilian platform, the Commando would also benefit from the latest advancements introduced by its manufacturer, the parts and service network already in place, and the thorough testing that's already gone into developing the Wrangler for civilian use. Hendrick has reportedly built 14 prototypes to date, including the two-door Commando 2 (based on the standard Wrangler), the four-door Commando 4 (based on the Wrangler Unlimited), and even a pickup conversion called the Commando S. It is not, however, the only company adapting Jeep Wranglers for military application. Israel-based Automotive Industries Ltd has been producing successive versions of the Wrangler-based Storm for use by the Israel Defense Forces and other militaries overseas since 1990. If the US Army awards the contract for the Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) vehicle to Hendrick Dynamics, it would bring the iconic Jeep back to the battlefield where it got its start. The brand and its most prolific model trace their roots back to the Willys MB, launched in 1941 on contract from the US Army for deployment in World War II.
Watch this 840-hp Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 walk away from GT-Rs and M3s
Thu, Dec 11 2014This last-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 does things that SUVs just shouldn't be able to do, like win drag races against tuned Nissan GT-R and BMW M3 coupes. Granted, the owner isn't coming into this fight with a stock Jeep – far from it. In addition to twin turbos whistling away, he says the engine is a 449-cubic-inch V8, which is nearly 7.4 liters of displacement. As it runs here, the driver claims that the turbos are pumping out around 14 psi of boost to give an estimated 840 horsepower. What's more, he further maintains the powertrain could reach around 1,200 hp with things fully cranked up. Even somewhat dialed back, this Jeep is ready to take on a breadth of formidable challengers, including a couple of Chevrolet Corvette models and a Lamborghini Aventador. Check out the video to see how this menacing Grand Cherokee fares in a day at the races.
Jeep Renegade recalled to prevent hacking
Fri, Sep 4 2015Jeep is issuing a voluntary recall of some 7,800 Renegades over fears that their radios may be vulnerable to hacking. The company is quick to stress that this campaign is independent of the hacking scare earlier this year. Only Renegades fitted with the 6.5-inch touchscreen display are affected by the recall. Owners of the affected vehicles will be mailed a USB jump drive that they can plug into their vehicle for a free software update. Alternatively, owners can head over to the UConnect website, enter their VIN, and download the software to their own jump drive. (See how in our video below.) Dealers will also perform the upgrade free of charge. The software update provides "additional security features," that should prevent remote tampering. If this sounds worrying, it's actually not that huge of a problem. First, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles estimates that over half the affected vehicles are still sitting on dealer lots. More importantly, according to FCA, the vulnerability on the Renegade "required unique and extensive technical knowledge, prolonged physical access to a subject vehicle and extended periods of time to write code," making it considerably different than the Cherokee problem. No injuries or hacks have been reported by any Renegade owner. Related Video: Statement: Software Update September 4, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is conducting a voluntary safety recall to update software in approximately 7,810 U.S.-market SUVs equipped with certain radios. More than half remain in dealer hands and will be serviced before they are sold. The campaign – which involves radios that differ from those implicated in another, similar recall – is designed to protect connected vehicles from remote manipulation. If unauthorized, such interference constitutes a criminal act. FCA US has already applied measures to prevent the type of vehicle manipulation demonstrated in a recent media report. These measures – which required no customer or dealer actions – block remote access to certain vehicle systems. The Company is unaware of any injuries related to software exploitation, nor is it aware of any related complaints, warranty claims or accidents – independent of the media demonstration. Affected are certain 2015 Jeep Renegade SUVs equipped with 6.5-inch touchscreens. Customers will receive a USB device which they may use to upgrade vehicle software. This provides additional security features.
