Up on the auction block is a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited.  It is a single owner vehicle that has never been taken off road and just used as a daily commuter.  In the following lines I will give you the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY.  I will do my best to accurately describe this vehicle to the best of my knowledge.  I will include photos and of course, any questions< just email me.

THE UGLY:

About a week ago the engine began to knock.  Within 2 days the knock got worse and I took it to the dealership.  I was given 3 options...1. Buy a new or used engine, 2. Have the lower block rebuilt or 3. Trade it in.  I have priced out engines online and have seen them range anywhere from 1000.00 to 3000.00 shipped.  I also spoke to a mechanic and they said it would take 12-15 hours of labor to take out the engine and put the new one in.  I do not have the time or money for this out of pocket expense.  The Jeep DOES run and drive, but for how long is the question. So, I have decided to sell my Jeep and cut my loses.  This is the ONLY major issue with this car and the ugly section.

THE BAD:

This is a crease in the front bumper on the driver's side, see photo.  The driver's side seat is wearing on the seem from getting in & out of the vehicle, see picture.  There is a scratch on the passenger side door between the front and the rear door, see picture.  The tires still have about 25% tread, but will have to be replaced at some point, see pictures.  It would be a great time to upgrade to some bigger tires. This concludes the bad.

The GOOD:

The exterior is great shape.  There are no dings and all metal is straight.  Paint is glossy and other than the one scratch, just minor wear of a 6 year old vehicle.  The doors have never been taken off.  This Jeep comes with the Freedom Hard Top.  This top splits above the driver and passenger, so one or both can enjoy the sun.  The spare tire has never been used and is in perfect condition.  All glass is crack and chip free.  All lenses are clear and crack free.  Upgrade fuel cover and locking gas cap.  All 5 tire has a locking bolt to eliminate theft. Tow package included, but never towed anything.  There is no insert or tow ball.  The interior is also in great shape.  All seats are stain/tear free, other than the wear on the seam on the driver's seat.  Carpet is stain free, and all original OEM floor mats are included.  Driver's mat has a small wear, where your heel sits when driving.  All dash and other componets are intact and have no issues.  This Wrangler has the MyGig entertainment system installed.  This includes Navigation, Digital storage and usb port.  Plays all audio and video.  There are no lights lit on the dash.  Air Condition is ice cold and the heat is toasty.  Back storage area is in good condition, just a little wear on the subwoofer casing and rear gate.  Trasmission is smooth when shifting.

I believe that covers everything ladies and gentlemen.  Please feel free to email with questions.  I am only offering local pick up.  If you live far away and want it transported, that is completly up to you and your responsibility.  This Jeep Wrangler is being sold AS IS and does not offer any warranty.  I have seen Jeeps of this year with the same or close options sell for 18k-20k, so my lose is your gain. There is NO reserve, highest bidder wins.  There will need to be a 250.00 deposit made with in 24 hours of auctions end and the remaining balance due when picked up, cashiers check.  I still am making payments on this vehivle, so once i have received the payment, i will pay off the lien and you will have the title sent to you certified mail.  Thank you and HAPPY BIDDING!

The fascinating history of the Popemobile

Tue, Sep 22 2015

Pope Francis will be arriving today in the US for a variety of stops, including the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, PA. While here, the Pontiff won't be riding in the usual Mercedes-Benz Popemobile, but instead will make a more American switch to a modified Jeep Wrangler, according to the Washington Post. It'll feature a protected front, top, and rear, but the sides will be open for His Holiness to see the throngs of people gathering for him. For hundreds of years, Popes were transported in horse-drawn carriages or sometimes carried in an enclosed chair by footmen, but His Holiness finally traded for some real horsepower in 1929. While his ride sometimes varied depending on the country being visited, a Mercedes-Benz was generally the common choice. However, the Pontiffs have ridden in everything from a modified GMC Sierra to a Ferrari Mondial over the past few decades. Pope Francis has definitely preferred more plebeian transportation, though, including a Renault 4 running on biofuel. A trip to South Korea even put him in a Kia Soul, and he opted for an Isuzu D-Max in the Philippines. The Post's whole list is quite a fun read, and it's fascinating to see how the Popemobiles evolve over time. Related Video:

Jeep driver nearly gets washed away by fast moving river

Wed, May 11 2016

Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. For example, you should never attempt to cross a fast-moving river in a bone stock Grand Cherokee no matter how shallow the river looks. Especially if you don't know what you're doing. A video posted recently to the Facebook group Jeep EXPERIENCE, shows an inexperienced jeep driver learning that lesson the hard way. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The video starts innocently enough, with a group of off-roaders watching one of their friends attempt to ford a shallow looking river. Things quickly go sideways however, when the driver of the silver Grand Cherokee just plunges right in and quickly gets in over his head. The river is moving faster than the driver thinks it is, the driver panics, makes some bad decisions, then the jeep is turned over and swept downstream. Eventually, the jeep is hauled out by a Land Rover after a long comedy of errors that involves one guy losing his trousers to the current and the Cherokee ingesting untold gallons of water. What went wrong here? Well, It's pretty obvious from the video that the Cherokee driver didn't have a clear idea of where he was going or about the condition of the riverbed. He chickened out halfway across the river, and in what appears to be a misguided attempt at turning back, he reverses, digs himself deeper in the riverbed, then turned broadside on into the current. When he changes his mind again and decides to just gun it for the opposite shore, he drives directly into a deep water hazard that would have been obvious to an experienced off-roader. At that point the jeep and the driver were doomed. Hopefully the driver learned a lesson here, and hopefully he didn't pollute that river too much with the jeep's fluids. Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.
