2002 Jeep Tj Sport, 4.0l, Many Aftermarket Parts, Very Good Condition on 2040-cars
Port Jefferson Station, New York, United States
I am selling a 2002 Jeep TJ
Sport registered as a 1997 because the tub was replaced due to damage. I will be providing two titles with
the Jeep; one is the 2002 salvage paperwork and previous owner’s title as well
as the clean 1997 title. You can bring the Jeep to be inspected by DMV and
obtain a salvage title for a 2002, but I have found no reason to do this as it
costs 200.00 and since it is registered as a 1997 you can obtain collectible
car insurance and pay next to nothing for full coverage. This Jeep has a 4" lift,
33" tires, 2 year old soft top, frame and windows, full doors
with new surrounds, Added Smittybilt front and rear bumpers as well as tube
fenders and rock slider armor with bars. Replaced windshield with new one and I
installed a high powered Kenwood deck, Phoenix Gold amp, Boston Acoustics front
speakers and JL Audio rear speakers along with an Infinity 10” passive radiator
and subwoofer. Many mechanical parts have also been
replaced; all brakes were done about 4000 or 5000 miles ago with new rotors and
drums, I installed a new starter and battery, aftermarket cold air intake
and new ECU computer. Replaced transfer case with a professionally rebuilt case
and had a professional also install a new Luke Systems clutch (Kevlar infused),
pressure plate, slave cylinder and throw out bearing ~1 year ago. I also had he
rear seals and bearings replaced and added new performance fluids to the in the
transmission and both axles. The tires are in great shape and one is actually
new due to sidewall gash. This truck runs great and has the sought after,
ultra-reliable 4.0L with ~87K miles. I have taken this Jeep on sand, snow
and trails and never had issues, it truly drives through almost anything. I am
looking to obtain a larger 4X4 because I had another child a few months
back and we all can no longer fit my entire family in the Jeep. Purchase terms are as follows: Buyer responsible for ALL shipping costs, 10%
Paypal non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of auction close. The
remainder of funds will need to be wire transferred within 7 days of close. Upon
successful wire transfer, transportation can be arranged for the Jeep, but the
title will be sent certified mail to ensure it makes it to you the buyer. No
exceptions, sorry. If you are local, a test drive can
be arranged, please email me to discuss. This vehicle will also be for sale
locally so I reserve the right to close the auction early. If you have less than 10 Feedbacks
or 97% or lower positive rating, please email me prior to bidding. I reserve
the ability to refuse any bids for any reason. Bid with confidence, I have never received a negative feedback! Happy Bidding!!

Next Jeep Wrangler to keep solid axles
Mon, Feb 16 2015Jeep fans, you're not out of the woods yet, but the latest news is good: Automotive News reports that the next-generation Wrangler will stick with floating solid axles front and rear. Fiat-Chrysler wouldn't comment on the report, but the theory is that the combination of cost, capability, and ease of modification were deciding factors. We're sure the multibillion dollar aftermarket industry is also pleased. Remember, Jeep showed off the lifted Cherokee Dakar Concept at the Easter Jeep Safari last year, but the first ingredient in the recipe for jacking up its independent suspension was, "a whole new suspension." Above that there will be an aluminum body that's smaller than the current one, which Allpar says could be done with a narrower track and tighter gaps. It will sport a fixed windshield with increased rake to improve aero efficiency, and while there are rumors of a diesel-engined version that we'll finally get in the US, there's been no reliable info as of yet to back that up. Jeep Grand Cherokee redesign delayed
Sat, Jun 27 2015The launch of the next-gen Jeep Grand Cherokee is being now being pushed back until late 2018 or even into 2019, Jeep CEO Mike Manley indicated Friday, according to Automotive News citing a Reuters report. Under the original five-year plan, the SUV was supposed to be replaced in the third quarter of 2017. That would have made for a big year for Jeep with a refreshed Renegade and new Wrangler also slated for 2017. A delayed Grand Cherokee could send ripples through Jeep's product plans. The three-row Grand Wagoneer is meant to give the brand a vehicle to take on the Land Rover Range Rover, but it's supposed to use the same platform as the Grand Cherokee. This change is rumored to push that important model's launch further back. There's less uncertainty when it comes to the next-gen Wrangler. Manley said that the model was "broadly on track," according to Automotive News. The five-year plan aimed for a launch in the second quarter of 2017. Controversy, however, has swirled over possible plans to move the Wrangler from its longtime Toledo, OH, factory. One problem Jeep doesn't have to worry about right now is sales. According to Automotive News, Manley said volume was up 20 percent globally and could reach 1.2 million by the end of the year. He also indicated the brand was "on pace" to reach its 1.9-million-vehicle goal for 2018. The Grand Cherokee delay comes in the wake of rumors that FCA US is shuffling around its previous five-year vehicle launch plan to postpone several models. Related Video:
Auto Mergers and Acquisitions: Suicide or salvation?
Tue, Sep 8 2015We love the Moses figure. A savior riding in from stage right with the ideas, the smarts, and the scrappiness to put things right. Alan Mullaly. Carroll Shelby. Lee Iacocca. Andrew Carnegie. Steve Jobs. Elon Musk. Bart Simpson. Sergio Marchionne does not likely view himself with Moses-like optics, but the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recently gave a remarkable, perhaps prophetic interview with Automotive News about his interest and the inevitability of merging with a potential automotive partner like General Motors. Marchionne has been overtly public about his notion that GM must merge with FCA. For a bit of context, GM sold 9.9 million vehicles in 2014, posting $2.8 billion in net income, while FCA sold 4.75 million units and earned $2.4 billion in net income, painting a very rosy FCA earnings-to-sales picture. But that's not the entire picture. Most people in the auto industry still remember the trainwreck that was the DaimlerChrysler "merger" written in what turned out to be sand in 1998. It proved to be a master class in how not to fuse two companies, two cultures, two continents, and two management teams. Oh, it worked for the two individuals at both helms pre-merger. They got silly rich. And the industry itself was in a misty romance at the time with mergers and acquisitions. BMW bought Rolls-Royce. Volkswagen Group bought Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini, putting all three brands into their rightful place in both products and positioning. No marriages there, so no false pretense. Finally, Nissan and Renault got married in 1999. A successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust. But a successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust, the principle part being honesty. Daimler and Chrysler lied to each other. The heads of each unit, the product planners, and finance all presented their then-current and long-range forecasts to each other with less-than-forthright accuracy. Daimler was the far greater equal and no one from the Chrysler side enjoyed that. The cultures were entirely different, too, and little was done to bridge that gap. Which brings me back to the present overtures by Marchionne to GM. "There are varying degrees of hugs," Marchionne stated in the Automotive News piece. "I can hug you nicely, I can hug you tightly, I can hug you like a bear, I can really hug you." Seriously?
