The top was brand new when I bought the Jeep a little over 3 years ago, so it's still in very good shape, plastic windows as well."

2001 Jeep Wrangler in very good condition.  Has been adult driven during my ownership anyway.  Has been down an occasional dirt road, but no real off-roading at all.  The hood has some small dents (see pics), and I"m not sure of the origins, but overall it looks pretty good.  No body rust, just a little on the front bumper.  The AC works well, has a CD player and decent speakers, pretty good carpeting.  Interior's in very good shape.  It' looks aggressive with the big tires, but it's a highway queen.  121,000 miles.  It does not leak oil at all.  It does, however, have a small transmission fluid leak.  Expect to have that checked out within the next week.  Pretty sure it's just a gasket.  The motor runs very strong and smoothly, shifts and accelerates well.  Overall, fun vehicle, hey, it's a Wrangler.  I just need a more civilized vehicle these days, so my buddy is up for sale.

A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due at the auction's end (within 24 hours). The remainder is to be paid by cash, certified check drawn on US bank or bank to bank wire transfer within 7 days of auction's end. I will release the clear title immediately for cash, or mail the title to you when the certified check clears or wire transfer has completed.

The winning bidder has to make arrangements to pick up your Jeep.  Will be posting more pics soon!

You probably won't see FCA's famous Easter eggs on an Alfa Romeo

Thu, Nov 17 2016

They started in Jeeps, with images of seven-slot grilles showing up on windshield edges, the text "SINCE 1941" appearing in the clear plastic of headlight units, and a relief map of Moab engraved into a rubber cubby liner. Then a Chrysler got a map of Detroit and the outline of Laguna Seca materialized near the Viper's window switch. We've come to call them Easter eggs, but Klaus Busse points out that they were never really meant to be secrets, just ways to dress up what he calls "dead plastic." He's nevertheless cool with the phrase being applied and likes the enthusiastic response these design details get. Busse is intimately familiar with many of them, having signed off on many of them in his time as head interior designer for FCA's US operations. He recently moved to Europe to lead Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Fiat design there, so when I caught up with him next to the new Stelvio crossover at the Alfa stand in LA, I had to ask: Are we going to see any of those neat design details in Alfas or Maseratis anytime soon? The short answer is no. But he didn't say it's out of the question. Busse said if, for example, a designer wanted to put an Italian phrase somewhere on a car that was in keeping with the brand, he would allow it. Although he didn't come out and say it, it seems like he might feel this type of fun design element isn't necessarily appropriate for a higher-end brand like Alfa. And I get that. But I'm still going to check all the compartments of that new Alfa crossover for a map of the Stelvio Pass. Jeep leads list of 25 most patriotic brands

Thu, 04 Jul 2013

It's not unusual to feel extra patriotic this time of year, what with the Fourth of July being today and all. As if to celebrate, New York-based research firm Brand Keys conducted a study among 4,500 consumers about what brands they find to be the most patriotic. According to the Detroit Free Press, Jeep took top honors in this study, besting other American stalwart brands including Coca-Cola, Levi's and Hershey's.
Interestingly, the only other automotive brand to make the list was Ford, in the 16th spot (motorcycle fans take note - Harley-Davidson claimed the No. 13 slot). This means consumers found Jeep to be more patriotic than any of the brands in the General Motors portfolio, including Chevrolet, which has long used American themes in its advertising over the decades.
According to Brand Keys, Jeep came in "with a score of 98 out of 100 on a scale representing consumers' emotional engagement expectations," the Detroit Free Press reports. Be sure to read the report to scan the entire Top 25 list for yourself.

Jay Leno rides high in Fab Fours Legend

Mon, Mar 23 2015

Jeep showcased some pretty awesome concepts at its Easter Safari in Moab a few days ago, but few if any of them were quite as extreme as what's rolled in to Jay Leno's Garage for this latest video installment. It's called the Legend, and it was made by aftermarket bumper manufacturer Fab Fours to demonstrate its capabilities. It's obviously based on the Jeep Wrangler, but it's riding high on 50-inch tires with a jacked-up monster truck suspension, giant fenders, a chopped-down red-tinted greenhouse and something its creators call a "grumper" that integrates the bumper into the grille. Or vice versa. Though most of the oily bits have carried over from the production model, it's hardly what you'd call "practical," but it's sure to turn a lot of heads... even one as massive as Jay's.
